$50,000 reward offered in unsolved Tay Township murder case
A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the fatal shooting of Jonus Keegan Palmer in Tay Township four years ago.
Officers with the Southern Georgian Bay OPP ruled Palmer's death a homicide after the 24-year-old was found with a fatal gunshot wound on July 5, 2021, outside a house where he was staying with friends on Old Fort Road in Tay Township.
Police said several people were at the residence that night. Officers did make an arrest at the scene, but said it was unrelated to the shooting. At the time, investigators said they had reason to believe Palmer's death wasn't a random act.

Police say dozens of witnesses have been interviewed in the case, but believe there are others out there with information who have yet to speak with the authorities.
In an OPP-produced video, Palmer's family pleaded for answers. 'What would you do if this happened to your child and no one came forward? Help our family heal,' Palmer's mother, Paulette Palmer asked in the video.
Anyone with information that might assist with the investigation is urged to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
