NHL Rumors: 3 Trade Destinations For Bruins' Pavel Zacha
Pavel Zacha's name has been floating around the rumor mill yet again with the off-season now here. The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta recently reported that the Boston Bruins are continuing "to take calls on" Zacha. With Zacha being one of the Bruins' top forwards, trading him would come with some serious risk. However, with Boston reportedly hearing offers for him, let's go over three teams who could make sense as potential landing spots for the 28-year-old. Advertisement Calgary Flames The Flames could make a lot of sense as a suitor for Zacha. It is no secret that they are looking for help down the middle, and Zacha would provide them with just that. However, he would also still boost their top six if he played on the wing. With the Flames being a team on the rise, they also could like Zacha because of his contract. The 2015 first-round pick has an affordable $4.75 million cap hit until the end of the 2026-27 season, so he would be more than a one-year rental for them if acquired. The Flames also have a very appealing trade candidate in defenseman Rasmus Andersson. It would take more than just Zacha for the Bruins to get him, though, of course. Bruins Rumors: 4 Players Boston Could Trade This Summer Bruins Rumors: 4 Players Boston Could Trade This Summer The Advertisement Boston Bruins blew up their roster at the 2025 NHL trade deadline. Brad Marchand, Brandon Carlo, Charlie Coyle, and Trent Frederic were among the players the Bruins moved as a result of their terrible 2024-25 season. Vancouver Canucks The Canucks are another team that stands out as a potential landing spot for Zacha if the Bruins end up moving him. After trading J.T. Miller this season, it is apparent that the Canucks would benefit by adding another center. This will be even more of the case if the Canucks end up losing Pius Suter this off-season through free agency. When looking at Vancouver's forward group, Zacha could provide them with an upgrade at the second-line center spot over Filip Chytil. Furthermore, he would give them an option for both their power play and penalty kill. With all of this, it would be understandable if the Canucks had a player like Zacha on their radar. Advertisement Minnesota Wild The Wild could be another club to watch when it comes to Zacha. It is apparent that they could use another top-six forward, and Zacha would give them just that if acquired. This will be especially so if the Wild end up dealing top trade candidate Marco Rossi before the season starts. With Zacha being a versatile player, he could slot very nicely at left wing on the Wild's second line with Joel Eriksson Ek and Matt Boldy if acquired. However, he also would help the Wild if he played center, as it is one of the weaker positions on their depth chart. Bruins Reportedly Exploring Trade Market for $19 Million Forward
Bruins Reportedly Exploring Trade Market for $19 Million Forward originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Boston Bruins forward Pavel Zacha's future in Beantown is once again uncertain, after he was linked to a move earlier in the offseason. Advertisement According to The Fourth Period, which listed Zacha as the 17th most-valuable player reportedly available for trade, the Bruins have resumed trade discussions involving the forward. 'The Bruins explored the trade market on Zacha during the season and there is belief out there that Boston is looking, again, at moving him,' TFP reported. 'His 10-team no-trade list turns to an eight-team list July 1, so he does have some say in where he ends up, if dealt. He has two years remaining on his contract.' Zacha, 28, is under contract for two more seasons as part of his four-year, $19 million contract. He's signed through the 2026–27 season at a $4.75 million cap hit. Advertisement The veteran winger, who can operate as a center, is one of Boston's more valuable forward assets and a member of the Bruins' second forward line. It's fair to assume that trading for him would likely require a meaningful return. The Bruins have been busy adding players this offseason, and with their roster shifting under new head coach Marco Sturm, Zacha's place is no longer guaranteed. Boston Bruins center Pavel Zacha (18) looks for the puck against the Buffalo T. Ludwig-Imagn Images TFP linked the Vancouver Canucks and the Utah Mammoth as teams with interest in the Bruins forward. 'Zacha could provide (Vancouver) with an upgrade at the second-line center spot over Filip Chytil,' The Hockey News' Michael DeRosa noted in an article discussing possible Zacha fits. Latest mock draft has Bruins making 2 first-round selections after trading top-6 forward
The 2025 NHL Entry Draft is fast approaching and soon Bruins will know how Boston uses its No. 7 pick. The Bruins have been connected to Brady Martin, Jake O'Brien and Roger McQueen in mock drafts. The Athletic had Boston taking O'Brien in its latest mock at No. 7, but the outlet also had the Original Six franchise trading back into the first round. Advertisement Here's the proposed trade: Vancouver Canucks trade No. 15 pick and forward Nils Höglander to Boston for center Pavel Zacha and forward Marat Khusnutdinov. The Bruins would then use the No. 15 pick to draft Jackson Smith, a left-shot defenseman. 'Smith's all-around upside as a defenseman makes him a valuable prospect with time to grow behind Hampus Lindholm, Nikita Zadorov and Mason Lohrei,' Fluto Shinzawa wrote. 'There is no rush for Smith to turn pro.' While Shinzawa noted the Bruins are 'wary of dealing Zacha,' the chance to get the No. 15 pick is a 'critical opportunity to add to a thin prospect pool.' Advertisement Zacha has been versatile for Boston since joining the organization in 2022, playing both center and wing when needed. He's also developed strong chemistry with David Pastrnak. Thomas Drance, Canucks reporter for The Athletic, believes the trade works out for both teams because Vancouver is 'all-in' on being Stanley Cup contenders in the 2025-26 season and 'needs size and productivity from the middle of the forward group more than anything.' 'Landing Zacha addresses the Canucks' need for a 'top two line center,' and at a reasonable price, with term, cap-wise,' Drance wrote. 'This is a deal that permits Vancouver to focus its resources on adding a legitimate top-of-the-lineup goal threat to try to replace what the club lost when it dealt J.T. Miller (and may lose more of in the likely event that Brock Boeser signs elsewhere in free agency).' It's unclear how the Bruins will utilize their seventh pick or if they will make trades to make multiple picks in Round 1. During Marco Sturm's introductory press conference on Tuesday morning, Bruins general manager Don Sweeney left the door open on potentially trading the pick. Advertisement 'We've been an aggressive organization, whether or not you want to point out fault in regard to trying to win and accomplish the ultimate goal. That's what we're here for,' Sweeney said. 'So we will use the draft capital and try and improve our hockey club this year and moving forward in every capacity possible. It might be making the selection, but it won't mean that we aren't having conversations that say, 'How do we improve our hockey club today and moving forward.'' NHL Trade Rumors: Boston Bruins forward Pavel Zacha could headline blockbuster trade nobody saw coming
A big turnaround might be brewing in the Boston Bruins. Insider David Pagnotta reports the Bruins are still listening to offers on Pavel Zacha. No details yet, but fans and analysts say the timing and Zacha's fit could spark a surprise move before the season starts. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now David Pagnotta says Boston Bruins still taking calls on Pavel Zacha According to NHL insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Boston Bruins have received trade calls on Pavel Zacha as of June 27, 2025. Zacha, 28, plays center and left wing, and carries a $4.75 million cap hit through 2027‑28. Pagnotta notes that Zacha has a 10‑team no‑trade list but that's set to shrink to eight teams on July 1, making a deal more likely. In addition, earlier reports from March confirmed that Boston is also open to moves for Charlie Coyle and Brandon Carlo. But Zacha stands out as the most intriguing option, given his mix of offensive upside, face‑off skills, and still‑young age. Zacha joined Boston in 2022 after being traded from the New Jersey Devils. Last season, he ranked third on the team with 37 points in 62 games, averaging nearly 20 minutes of ice time per game. Pavel Zacha trade talks fuel debate over Bruins long‑term plan Rumors about Zacha's availability have stirred wide conversation in Boston fan groups, Reddit, and on X. Some fans argue he's a key piece in the Bruins' core lineup, while others believe trading him could help bring in a top‑six forward to push the team further. Pro HockeyrRumors and Yahoo Sports also picked up Pagnotta's note, confirming Boston is fielding serious calls on Zacha and Coyle. The chatter highlights Boston's openness to a roster shake‑up after a season many expected more from. Zacha's contract and limited no‑trade protection make him a tradeable asset, one that could fetch Boston a valuable return. But some question if losing their top center wouldn't hurt team depth, especially if no long‑term replacement is in place. Also Read: Boston's willingness to listen to a player like Zacha signals a potentially bold summer ahead. With draft and next season prep around the corner, fans are watching closely to see if this rumor turns into a major NHL trade story.
