SALEM: Tamil Manila Congress leader and MP G K Vasan on Thursday urged the state govt to fulfil the demands of govt doctors which include implementation of the Pay Band 4 and recruitment of additional doctors and nurses in govt hospitals. In Chennai, they will submit a memorandum urging chief minister to address their long-standing demands. Vasan criticised the state govt for forcing doctors to resort to protests, labelling it as a sign of ineffective governance. He held the ruling party accountable for failing to honour its 2021 election promise that the demands of govt doctors would be fulfilled.

Chennai: Legal Coordination Committee (LCC) for govt doctors will begin a march from Salem to Chennai on June 11, urging chief minister to act on long-ignored demands, which include the implementation of Pay Band 4, a system that ensures a fair salary hike for govt doctors and nurses, the GO No. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now 354 which was passed in 2009, and the appointment of more doctors and nurses in govt hospitals. "We just want the govt to pay us our salaries in accordance with the GO. Speaking to TOI, health minister Ma Subramanian said, "I'm not aware of LCC's demands, nor did anyone approach my office. We can look into it if they give us a list of requests."
