After Tenali Rama, Priyamvada Kant to play Pedwali in Gharwali Pedwali

Priyamvada Kant Soon after wrapping up the shoot for Tenali Rama, in which she reprised the role of Sharada, the wife of Tenali Rama, Priyamvada Kant has bagged a new project. The actress has been roped in to play the lead role of Pedwali opposite Paras Arora in Gharwali Pedwali. The show offers her an entirely new canvas to explore a vibrant, comedic yet emotional character in a family comedy with a supernatural twist. Priyamvada confirms, 'I'm happy to be playing the protagonist in Gharwali Pedwali. The character of Pedwali is unlike anything I've done before. She's quirky, endearing and a really fun character. I fell in love with her the moment I read the script. I can't wait for the audience to meet her.' Known for pushing boundaries and experimenting with different mediums, Priyamvada ventured into theatre last year with the teleplay Peechha Karti Parchhaiyaan, which also featured Ila Arun and Param Singh. Reflecting on her transition to stage during a previous conversation, she had shared, 'I've been doing television for quite some time. It's my comfort zone and I absolutely love it. But of course, we need a break in between to do something exciting. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like These Are The Most Beautiful Women In The World Undo I had been wanting to do a play for a while. I am a trained classical dancer and have been on stage all my life, so my first interaction with any performative art was on stage.' She continued, 'I really missed being on stage and had been wanting to do theatre in Bombay for a very long time. But I wasn't getting the right opportunity or the right people to work with. Also, it's nearly impossible to manage theatre alongside television. When I got to know Ila Ma'am was casting for the play, I went and met her. I've been a huge fan of hers. She asked me to read a few lines and liked my pitch in Hindi. That's how I landed the role. It's actually my first play ever.'
