Telangana to release Rs 9,000 crore for farmers' scheme despite financial crisis
The Telangana government is preparing to release Rs 9,000 crore under its Rythu Bharosa scheme within the next nine days, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced. Speaking at the Rythu Nestham programme held at Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University on Monday, the Chief Minister reaffirmed his government's commitment to farmer welfare despite the state's ongoing financial crisis.'The government is ready to release Rs 9,000 crore Rythu Bharosa scheme benefit in the farmers' accounts in nine days. The state will flourish only when the farmer is happy,' the Chief Minister said, indicating that preparations were underway to ensure the funds reach beneficiaries without move comes at a time when Telangana is grappling with serious fiscal challenges, which, according to the Chief Minister, stem from the mismanagement of the previous administration. He framed this spending not as a burden, but as a necessary corrective measure. Designed to offer financial relief to both land-owning and landless farmers, the scheme provides Rs 12,000 per acre annually, split into two payments of Rs 6,000 per acre per crop season. It replaces the earlier Rythu Bandhu scheme with an expanded scope — including tenant farmers and agricultural labourers — and excludes land used for industrial or real estate program aims to reduce farmers' dependency on private moneylenders, enabling them to invest in better seeds, fertilizers, and sustainable practices. Indiramma Housing Scheme aims to fulfill dreams of all eligible poor people to own a house: Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy
The Indiramma housing programme is a continuous process aimed at fulfilling housing dreams of all eligible poor people in a phased manner across the State, said Minister for Revenue, Housing and Information and Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. Despite financial constraints, the People's Government (Congress government) has allocated ₹22,500 crore for the first phase of the Indiramma Housing Scheme this year, he said. He was speaking after handing over sanction letters to the beneficiaries of the Indiramma Housing Scheme under Edulapuram municipal limits in Khammam on Wednesday. As many as 3,500 houses are being sanctioned to each Assembly Constituency in the first phase of the scheme. Additionally, houses are being allocated to Chenchus (one of the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) in a saturation mode. The Minister asserted that the houses are being sanctioned in a transparent manner to deliver the benefits to the deserving poor people. Our government is working with resolute commitment for the welfare of poor and marginalised sections of the society, he said, adding that it was the aim of the Congress government to construct 20 lakh Indiramma houses to fulfill the dreams of all homeless poor people to own a house in a phased manner. The BRS government belied the aspirations of homeless poor people by depriving them of a roof over their heads during its nearly 10-year rule, he charged. Khammam Collector Muzammil Khan and Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt, among others were present. Later, the Minister laid foundation stones for various road works in Khammam rural mandal.

"Prosperous country is where people trust public healthcare": Telangana CM Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday praised and appreciated the growing public confidence in the state's healthcare system after Civil Judge Jyothirmayi chose a government hospital for the birth of her second child. Chief Minister Reddy said the Civil Judge set an example by choosing a government facility for her delivery. In a post on X, he posted, "A rich, prosperous country is not one where people can afford private healthcare, but almost all people trust public healthcare systems. Vemulawada brought to the fore one of many such stories in the last 17 months since the People's Government took charge of the reins of Telangana." Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka lays foundation stone for Young India Integrated school
KHAMMAM: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday asserted that Telangana's People's Government is establishing Young India Integrated Residential Schools that will make the nation proud. He laid the foundation stone for one such school in Lakshmipuram village, Khammam district, and announced that Rs 21,000 crore has been sanctioned for 105 schools across the state. Speaking at a press meet, he said these schools aim to shape students into 'polished diamonds' with exceptional intellect and global competitiveness. Built on 25-acre campuses, the schools will offer English-medium, international-standard education, sports infrastructure, and residential facilities for students and staff. Vikramarka said no other state has launched such an education initiative. He criticised the previous BRS government for neglecting development and mocked their unfulfilled LKG-to-PG promises. In contrast, he said, the current government sanctioned 58 schools in its first year, followed by 47 more after public demand. He said these schools are being established as a hallmark initiative of the state government to provide international-standard education to lakhs of students and prepare them to compete on a global stage. He recalled that when the People's Government first proposed the idea, the BRS ridiculed it, doubting its feasibility — just as their own promises of free education from LKG to PG had remained unfulfilled. However, with determination and commitment, the government sanctioned 58 schools in the very first year. Each school will be built on about 25 acres, offering English-medium education aligned with international standards. The campuses will feature digital classrooms, amphitheaters, and highly qualified faculty in subjects like science and mathematics. Students will study up to Class 12 and graduate as well-rounded individuals with academic and life skills.
