Luke Humphries has say on ‘fartgate' in message to rival James Wade after Players Championship darts win

JAMES WADE has proved that flatulent glee gets you everywhere - after the jubilant 'Fartgate' flinger won the support of Luke Humphries. The Machine shrugged off controversy over his loud and less than proud intervention against Peter Wright by winning Players Championship 19. 2 Wade trumped Scott Williams in the final to move back up to World No. 8. The English oche ace was so overjoyed to be on-song after his pong that he posted a message on X. And he got a surprise reply from Cool Hand, offering him congratulations - albeit with a mischievous twist... Wade, 42, wrote: "Good Morning everyone. Wow!! I'm over the moon you can't believe. "I played well in all games this week and last night was the high I've been aiming for!! Celebrations all round. "As always, thank you to all my supporters and the kind comments. "Thank you to my sponsors and management team!" The 2024 Ally Pally king said: "Great farts mate!! I mean 'Darts'." However, fans managed to be even less subtle than Humphries with their rip-ostes. James Wade names two darts stars who should NOT have been invited into Premier League darts One wrote: "You have blown all your opponents away, the smell of success is strong when your on stage." Another mused: "Must be great to let off a bit if steam, although Peter Wright might not agree." The farting furore exploded live on TV during Players Championship 17 when Wade let rip during a 6-5 victory over Wright. Snakebite might be better suited to dealing with stings than stinks - but he initially laughed it off. Referee Owen Binks reminded them "this is a streamed match, guys". Wade then suggested his Scottish opponent 'Give it a second' before he returned to the oche. But Snakebite appeared to believe that time period was a clear under-estimate. Wade eventually went on to not just nick that match but get better as the week wore on - at darts, that is - peaking with the PC19 crown. Yet incredibly it's the second time the Surrey star has been caught in a storm of his own brewing. That blast from the past was at the Players Championship last September when he blamed the noise on velcro from his new trainers.

Cameron Menzies lands World Cup nod as Scotland legends brutally warned over end of era

Gary Anderson and Peter Wright may not team up again says ex-World No.1 Colin Lloyd Rising Cameron Menzies has been touted as Scotland's next World Cup star with legends Gary Anderson and Peter Wright warned their time could be over. The terrific Tartan pair have led a historic period in the country's darts history with their magnificent successes as individuals and as a unit. ‌ Anderson collected back-to-back PDC World Championship crown in 2015 and 2016 as he cemented his place in the game's folklore. ‌ Wright then joined him as he won the Alexandra Palace title twice himself in 2020 and 2022 to take his place amongst the greats. Anderson and Wright also teamed-up to win a World Cup in 2019 having twice been defeated in the Final beforehand in 2015 and 2018. However, after last weekend's brutal and horrific 8-0 whitewash loss to Netherlands, former World No.1 Colin Lloyd thinks it's might be the right time for new faces. Menzies is amongst those in with a shot of storming up onto the scene having quit his job as a plumber to go full-time onto the PDC scene in his quest to get to the top. Lloyd said: 'Will it be those two performing next year for Scotland? Who knows. Cameron Menzies is blasting up the rankings, so we might have a different pairing next year for Scotland. ‌ 'It was a sloppy performance. They averaged 78 between them as a team. It was very unlike Gary and Peter. 'I will defend them on that front, but let's not take away the level of performance the Dutch put in averaging 100 as a pair. They had plenty of opportunities and they took them all. You would not expect Gary Anderson and Peter Wright to put in a performance like that.' Anderson and Wright had a paltry three darts at double in the entire hame in Frankfurt as they were talen apart by Danny Noppert and Gian van Veen. The first seven legs of the game took just 13 minutes to complete as the Scots were svavaged and put out of their misery after the one leg played following the mid-match break. Lloyd could symapthise with the situation of the format, but not with the manner of the setback and the torturous nature of the outcome and the final scoreline which may have signalled a sad end to a special era at the World Cup. He said: 'Listen they would have been disappointed. It is a funny old game pairs. Sometimes you don't feel like you get the flow or rhythm going and it very much looked like that for those two guys. 'If they were going to get beat by Gian and Danny, I would not have expected it to be 8-0. That was a shock. Not that the Dutch beat the Scottish team but in the fashion that they did.'

Controversial darts star who LICKED Luke Humphries caught in another disgusting act

A darts match had to be stopped this week after a top-10 star farted during a match. On the back of a dramatic World Cup, the Players Championship resumed in Leicester this week, with Chris Dobey claiming victory on Tuesday and then Stephen Bunting on Wednesday. One moment caught the eye on Tuesday, though - with James Wade striking once again as he let one rip inside the venue. Lining up against Peter Wright, Wade, ranked No 9 in the world, was in a last-32 clash but his body had other things on his mind rather than focusing on the darts. After throwing an arrow, Wade, 42, farted in the direction of Wright as he approached the board to remove his darts. It caused Wright to step back, uttering 'James' and letting out a slight laugh. Referee Owen Binks, meanwhile, responded with an 'ooo' and offered the darts star the chance to hold fire on continuing the game while he sorted himself out. This is a streamed match guys.' Wade denied the chance to take a short break, with Wright joking that Wade could have three more goes to allow the situation to pass. And it wasn't the first time Wade had been caught in a disgusting act. Earlier this year, he licked the neck of former rival Luke Humphries ahead of their tie at the UK Open. And just days later, he kissed Raymond van Barneveld on the cheek, leading to complaints towards the referee from the Dutch player, who could be seen clearly annoyed by Wade's actions. In September meanwhile, Wade jokingly denied farting in a different Players Championship game against Callan Rydz. He had walked over to a table following the win, with the footage showing the darts star slightly bending his knees. Fans claimed they could then hear the sound of a fart on the video feed, with Wade forced to take to social media to deny the claim. 'I feel I must address a situation following my run to the semi-finals of PC22 today,' Wade wrote. 'Footage has emerged of me doing what appears to be a "shart" at the end of one of my matches. 'It was actually the velcro on my new trainers. I now consider this matter put to bed as don't wish to talk about it again.'

James Wade locked in another ‘FARTGATE' storm as disgusting act caught on live TV and called out by referee

JAMES WADE was involved in yet another dart 'fartgate' incident in Players Championship 17. The World No.10 kicked up a stink in a clash with fellow veteran star Peter Wright in Leicester. 3 Wade let rip during his 6-5 win over 'Snakebite' to reach the quarter-finals on Tuesday afternoon. Wright stepped back and laughed uncomfortably, but Wade's joke quickly backfired when the match caller told him the clash was being televised. Referee Owen Binks then informed the players: 'Oh boy, okay then… This is a streamed match guys.' Wade claimed: 'It slipped out.' And then added: 'Give it a second.' Wright thought it needed more than a second, though. And Wade tried to prompt him back onto the oche, saying: 'Go ahead. Do you want nine more arrows?' It's not the first time the 42-year-old has passed wind during a match. He did the same less than a year ago in September 2024, also at the Players Championship.
