Jordan: Farmers in Irbid receive over $2.8mln in agricultural loans — official
AMMAN — The Irbid branch of the Agricultural Credit Corporation has begun providing interest-free loans to livestock breeders, including those raising sheep, cattle, and camels, according to the branch director, Malik Akour. Akour said the programme, which began at the start of 2025, also includes agricultural loans for farmers and rural families across the villages and districts of Irbid Governorate. 'So far, around 136 farmers have benefited from the loans,' the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. As of June 24, the total value of loans disbursed by the branch reached JD 2,061,444, distributed across several categories. Interest-free loans to livestock breeders amounted to JD 325,000, benefiting 90 recipients, he said. He also said that loans worth JD325,000 were allocated to support women's empowerment and rural family projects aimed at combating poverty and unemployment, with 10 borrowers benefiting. Rural financing projects received JD203,000, supporting 55 borrowers, while JD1,185,000 was directed toward land reclamation, livestock development, and food processing projects, aiding 200 farmers. Akour emphasised the corporation's role in supporting the sustainability of the agricultural sector this year, particularly amid a delayed rainy season and low rainfall. 'The interest-free loans have helped ensure the availability of livestock feed, compensating for the shortage of natural grazing lands this season. Additionally, agricultural and food processing projects have been funded with highly subsidised interest rates.' © Copyright The Jordan Times. All rights reserved. Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc. Klutch AI Emerges from Stealth with $8M Seed to Bring Intelligent AI Agents to Construction Teams
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Klutch AI, which provides AI-powered construction management, launched publicly today and announced $8 million in seed funding. The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures and Bling Capital, with participation from Brick & Mortar Ventures, Original Capital, Anthology Fund and prominent angel investors from Autodesk and BuildZoom. With these funds, Klutch will advance workflow automation capabilities and build integrations with industry-standard tools to serve the broader construction market. Construction projects frequently suffer from delays, data fragmentation, and rework due to communication gaps between the field and the office. Despite widespread adoption of project management software, 96% of construction data remains unused. Project managers lose hours each day to manual inputs, and critical decisions suffer from fragmented or inaccessible information. Klutch addresses this knowledge gap by embedding field-tested AI agents that automate tasks like permit review, takeoffs and estimates, jobsite documentation, and vendor coordination—reducing manual work while improving project outcomes. Unlike AI that stops at GPT-powered copilots, Klutch agents orchestrate end-to-end workflows and advanced analytics. The agents pull jobsite updates, flag issues and surface vendor insights from photos, texts, calls and emails. Teams across residential and commercial construction can deploy Klutch as a complete construction management platform or integrate it seamlessly with their existing platforms and tools. With Klutch, construction teams save 10+ hours per week while unlocking higher-quality data to drive smarter decisions across every phase of a project. Early customers are already accelerating timelines, cutting manual work, reducing site visits and derisking millions with Klutch's AI agents. Key offerings include: Archie AI: Automates zoning and permit review for architecture and planning Bob AI: Captures 10x more jobsite data (e.g. photos, punch items, safety issues) in 10% of the time via SMS and WhatsApp for construction management Petra AI: Automates takeoffs, estimates, bid leveling, and vendor scoring for procurement Hailey AI: Manages warranty tickets and links issues to vendor performance for a better homeowner experience Custom Workflows: Tailored agents for specific business processes Klutch was founded by Xu Rui, CEO, and Tanin Na Nakorn, CTO. Xu Rui grew up on construction sites and later ran her own real estate investment company, experiencing firsthand how field teams still rely on photos and messages while office tools leaped ahead. Both previously worked at Stripe, where they led ML-driven analytics and revenue products. Together, they recognized an opportunity to bring the same intelligent workflows to construction. They built Klutch around the simple idea that the best AI doesn't feel like tech - it feels like second nature. 'The future of construction isn't forcing field teams to adopt complex software—it's AI that works within their existing habits,' said Xu Rui, cofounder and CEO of Klutch. 'Our early customers are already capturing 10x more jobsite data while saving hours on repetitive work, and making faster, data-backed decisions. With this funding, we're building an AI workforce that transforms how the built world gets built, one workflow at a time.' "Construction is one of the largest, least-digitized sectors in the economy,' said Kevin Zhang, Partner at Bain Capital Ventures. 'Xu Rui's experience running a property management business, combined with a world-class product mindset, positions her to transform one of the biggest untapped markets in enterprise software. We're eager to back Xu Rui and the Klutch team as they modernize residential and commercial construction." 'There are many legacy point solutions in the construction industry today. With AI advancements, there is an opening to build a compound startup,' said Ben Ling, Founder & General Partner at Bling Capital. 'We've seen this before as early investors in Rippling and Palantir, and we're excited to partner with Klutch to pursue this opportunity in the $2T construction market.' These Comfy Travel Pants Kept Me Cool on a 2-week Trip to Egypt and Petra—and They Didn't Even Wrinkle
After visiting 50-plus countries, I've officially found the perfect travel pants. While that may sound like an exaggeration (nothing is truly ever perfect , right?), it's tough to find anything not to love about the flattering and comfy Coalatree Trailhead Pant. In fact, on a recent two-week trip through Egypt and Jordan, I found myself reaching for these again and again—even over the flowy skirts and linen pants I also packed. So what sets these apart for me? For one, unlike the linen options I'd packed, these pants don't wrinkle. We moved hotels numerous times during our trip, and no matter how many times I crammed these pants back into the corners of my favorite carry-on, they were always ready to wear again with a quick shake out. Not to mention, they could be shoved into those corners in the first place thanks to how easy they are to roll, fold, or stuff however you please with their flexible nylon material. Additionally, the Coalatree Trailhead Pants are uber comfy and durable, while still being plenty lightweight and breathable. The stretchy waistband and tie closure ankles ensured a flattering fit without them ever feeling tight. Whether I was strolling through museums in Cairo or hiking up to see the stunning monastery at Petra, these pants kept me sweat-free and looking my best. And, from early chilly mornings to beat the crowds at Jordan's iconic sights, to over 100-degree Fahrenheit days in the Valley of Kings and King Tut's tomb, these pants proved they were truly all-weather (though you'd probably want to layer some long underwear under them for snowy days). Another pro with these pants is that, while they are called Trailhead Pants and are great for outdoor activities, they're also cute enough to be dressed up a bit more. I found myself pairing these equally with hiking boots and tees for rugged days exploring the lunar landscapes of Wadi Rum, as well as cute sandals and button-downs for city days. The sweat-wicking, stain- and stink-proof fabric also meant I was able to wear these on repeat while traveling without having to constantly wash them, even after hiking through red sand dunes. It's safe to say I'll be packing these on all my future trips. Travel + Leisure / Hannah Freedman And, did I mention they are unisex? I was skeptical at first and made my husband try them on one day just to see if the fit would be as flattering for him as it was for me. While my size mediums were definitely too short and tight on his 6-foot, 2-inch frame, it was clear that in the right size, they would be fabulous men's pants as well. I opted for the olive green color, but you can choose from seven color options, ranging from black and navy to red. Priced at $99, the Coalatree Trailhead Pants aren't cheap, but it's easy to see why, and I'm certain they will last me for years to come. Hurry and grab a pair while they're marked down—trust me, you'll be grateful you have them no matter where your next trip takes you. And if you're still shopping around for the perfect travel pants for your next trip, read on for some budget-friendly options at Amazon from just $30. Love a great deal?
