WATCH: Ohio State football players take part in NIL media day
In a sign of the times, Ohio State football players took part in a media day this past week, but not just any media day of the traditional variety. No, instead, the players participated in Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) media day to showcase their skills in how marketable they are. The Ohio State football creative team captured a little bit of it in a social media post to share with everyone, and though there's not a whole lot of information to glean from it all, it's still interesting to see how these events happen behind the scenes, and important to note for all of those prospective recruits out there that the Buckeyes put an emphasis on what a player can do off the field as well. Advertisement Take a look at a short video of Ohio State football players taking turns in front of cameras and interviews in an NIL media day on Thursday, and just wonder how far things have come in such a short time when even paying for a meal on a recruiting trip was frowned upon. Now, runways are being laid out to help them land NIL deals. NIL itself is going to look entirely different too as the sport now embarks on direct revenue sharing, but you can bet Ohio State will try to embrace that and be ahead of the curve as well. 'College Football 26' ranks the toughest stadiums to play. Where is Ohio Stadium?
Fans and gamers alike will soon get a chance to play EA Sports' popular resurrected franchise, "College Football 26," and when they do, there are some new and improved features to go along with what we've been accustomed to in its fantastic gameplay. One of those things that returns is a ranking of the toughest stadiums to play in, which gives the home team a distinct advantage at key times in a contest. There are notorious places that are hard to play, and as an Ohio State fan, you know that there's a debate on where the 'Shoe ranks. There are times when it can be as loud as any stadium and environment around, but at other times, most notably the hotly debated noon games, fans can often sit on their hands and expect the team to bring the juice to get things crankin.' Debate aside, Ohio Stadium was ranked as the fourth most difficult stadium to play in for last year's highly-anticipated release of 'College Football 25," but these things seem to change on an annual basis, so there's a new ranking by EA Sports coming into this year's game. This time around, Ohio State fans can play at the 'Shoe as the No. 3 ranked toughest place to play, which is up one spot from last year's No. 4. The Buckeyes jump ahead of Texas A&M's Kyle Field and sit just behind LSU's Tiger Stadium and Beaver Stadium where Penn State fans do their best work -- especially during whiteout games. Funny enough, Kyle Field dropped completely out of the top ten, which just goes to show you it's more about the team you play than where and when, especially with year-after-year of Texas A&M falling short of expectations. The rest of the top ten is a who's who of college football programs. Behind Ohio State this year at No. 4 is Sanford Stadium (Georgia), No. 5 Bryant-Denny Stadium (Alabama), No. 6 Memorial Stadium (Clemson), No. 7 Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (Florida), No. 8 Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium (Oklahoma), No. 9 Autzen Stadium (Oregon), and No. 10 Michigan Stadium (Michigan). I could debate many of these, especially after visiting Autzen Stadium last year in the classic game between Ohio State and Oregon in Eugene, but to each his own, and it's all about opinion anyway. Either way you slice it, when you play as OSU this year in "College Football 26," or any of these ten teams, there's going to be a distinct advantage and boost from the home crowd. "College Football 26" will be available to all to play on July 10. TV tonight: a sobering film about the rise of extreme weather
9pm, BBC One The anatomy of a modern climate catastrophe is revealed in this sobering documentary about the appalling floods that hit Valencia in October 2024. The first part of the film deals with the events as they were experienced by the citizens, 228 of whom didn't live to tell the tale. But there's also an insight into how humanity will have to adapt to increasingly volatile weather as failures in forecasting and preparation are laid bare. Phil Harrison 8pm, Channel 4 S'mores the merrier: this week the remaining pastry chef duos must come up with their own spin on the gooey US campfire treat while also rustling up a batch of creamy framboisier slices. If all that weren't stress-inducing enough, the showpiece challenge requires them to evoke their favourite visual artists – in spectacular fashion. Graeme Virtue 9pm, BBC Three Byron (Ellis Howard) hits rock bottom as the bracing dramatisation of Paris Lees' memoir delivers a punchy final double bill. A scary stint in prison features a nice guest role for Rhys Connah (Ryan in Happy Valley) as a bully with hidden vulnerabilities. Then Byron emerges – with nowhere to go but up. Jack Seale 10pm, Channel 4 Another cold case reopened by criminologist David Wilson, detective Graham Hill and moonlighting actor Emilia Fox. This time, it's the unexplained 2018 disappearance of Georgina Gharsallah, whose mother, Andrea, has campaigned to uncover the truth about her daughter's fate. Was she abducted? PH 10pm, BBC Four A gently lyrical film following Mongolian farmers Davaa and Zaya, who are forced to move to the city after a sandstorm (arguably caused by climate breakdown) kills their flock of sheep. It's not a straight narrative – the tale is told in an often dreamlike style, emphasising the connection between the people and their land. PH 10.05pm, ITV2 A fun new sitcom by Jordan Gray, Transaction makes salient points about inclusion while remaining enjoyably snarky. Gray is Olivia, a transgender woman and happily jobless slacker who is persuaded to do a few shifts at a supermarket because its boss, Simon (Nick Frost), is under fire for an (accidentally) transphobic advertising campaign. PH Creed (Ryan Coogler, 2015), 9pm, ITV4This limber 2015 film is the second in a string of fruitful collaborations between director Ryan Coogler and actor Michael B Jordan – it set in train a new run of boxing dramas set in Rocky World. Jordan plays Adonis Johnson, the unknown son of Rocky Balboa's opponent turned friend Apollo Creed. Adonis has the fight gene, too, so he turns up in Philadelphia to get Rocky (a convincingly weary Sylvester Stallone) to train him. There's enough ring work for the action fan, but it's also an exploration of family ties and the meaning of legacy. Simon Wardell

Ohio State softball 2026 conference schedule unveiled
Looking forward to 𝐁𝟏𝐆 things in 2026.@OhioStAthletics | #GoBucks It was an overachieving year for the Ohio State softball team this past season. Despite losing a lot of key players, new head coach Kirin Kumar was able to lead the team to an offensive explosion in which the Buckeyes led the country in home runs, runs scored, and a few other categories. OSU ended up tying for third place in the Big Ten and found its way into the NCAA Tournament. Now, the trick will be to continue that momentum and continue the climb in the Big Ten and nationally. To do it, Ohio State will have to navigate a Big Ten schedule that now includes West Coast power teams like UCLA and Oregon. This past week, the Big Ten unveiled the conference schedule for the 2026 softball season, so we got a look at who the Buckeyes will play next season and where they will do it. Ohio State will host four home series in the conference and hit the road for four others. Here's how it'll all look next season. Ohio State 2026 Big Ten Softball Schedule March 6-8, 2026: Iowa (Columbus, Ohio)March 13-15, 2026: at Purdue (West Lafayette, Ind.)March 27-29, 2026: Michigan State (Columbus, Ohio)April 3-5, 2026: at Minnesota (Minneapolis, Minn.)April 10-12, 2026: at Michigan (Ann Arbor, Mich.)April 17-19, 2026: Penn State (Columbus, Ohio)April 24-26, 2026: at Oregon (Eugene, Ore.)May 1-3, 2026: Washington (Columbus, Ohio) It's still a long time before we see any of these games, but it's nice to see how everything will look next year. The nonconference schedule will be released at a later day.
