ASEAN, EU interrelationships are challenging, says Marcos
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. said Thursday that interrelationships among other bodies, including the ASEAN and the European Union, have been challenging.
Marcos said this during his meeting with the Philippine-Japan Economic Cooperation Committee and the delegates of the 14th Asian Business Summit.
''What we have just experienced, at least, changes now in trade policy, not only with the United States or just economy still, but with the interrelationships between ASEAN, for example, in the Pacific region, for example, and the EU... and all those interrelationships have become – I wouldn't say under threat, but again, in challenge,'' the President said.
Marcos said the interdependence in the world economy has turned out to be less secure and less robust.
''And so that is why in the Philippines we have taken that lesson to heart, and that is why we are trying to develop those interrelationships,'' he said.
The President said he is happy that the Philippines could participate in the discussions about the development of important aspects of the global economy. —RF, GMA Integrated News
