When John Cena announced that 2025 would be his final year in WWE, fans just had to know he'd mix it up one final time with the 'Best in the World,' CM Punk. Advertisement With beef that goes back decades and some storied matches held in high regard within the WWE Universe, this particular program is unlike any before because it's Cena who now fills the role of heel, forcing Punk to compromise his integrity at Night of Champions for a chance at the WWE Championship. After watching Punk come to the defense of Ron Killings after his big revenge match on SmackDown, Cena got physical with the 'Second City Saint,' putting him through a table as the show approached it's conclusion but before it could, the reigning champion wanted to cut a promo for the road; his take on the 'Pipe Bomb' over the body of the term's originator. 'You're better than me at one thing. You're the best bulls**tter in the world. Oh no, kiddos, John Cena just dropped a curse word. That means the show is completely off the rails. With that being said, it does make the eventual match on June 28 in Saudi Arabia all the more interesting, as this could be a greatest hits showdown between two men in their 40s who know they have to leave it all in the ring. The pitch came shortly after John Cena's latest Pipebomb promo. The iconic promo name dropped Green's husband, Matt Cardona. In the aftermath of the eve nt, a romantic angle was proposed to recreate the iconic scene between Cena and Indie God's girlfriend, Eve, 13 years ago. John Cena and Eve even shared an intimate moment on-screen. Sam Robert pitched a recreation of love triangle between John Cena and Matt Cardona's former girlfriend Sam Roberts' suggestion came just a couple of days after Chelsea Green shared Matt Cardona's reaction to John Cena's Pipebomb promo. Cardona was already injured, and the act by Kane even worsened the situation. Kane wanted John Cena to embrace the hate through this act. Roberts wished for Cena to return and recreate the scene with Cardona. In the podcast, Roberts stated, 'I hope Matt Cardona returns and John Cena puts him in a wheelchair and pushes him right off, how Kane did it.' He further added, 'And then Chelsea Green gets flowers from John Cena. I would like to see that whole thing again.' John Cena is now scheduled to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against CM Punk in Night of Champions 2025. Both wrestlers will be facing each other for the first time since their last faceoff in 2013. Night of Champions has been scheduled for June 28, 2025.
