Pittsburgh-area Law Firms

The largest law firms in Pittsburgh employ more than 3,050 local lawyers in the counties of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Lawrence, Washington and Westmoreland in Pennsylvania. The online version of this ranking expands beyond what appears in print; another 100-plus law offices are included in our digital rankings, in addition to the 32 featured in this week's print edition. This week's List marks a shift in our research methodology and philosophy in 2025, one that will emphasize more data and context for readers while better coordinating the resources available to us and our 40-plus sister publications under the American City Business Journals flag. We anticipate this effort will identify thousands of new local records — and cumulatively, tens of thousands of new businesses across ACBJ's footprint — this year alone. Information on The List was obtained through Pittsburgh Business Times research or supplied by individual firms through questionnaires that the Pittsburgh Business Times could not independently verify. In case of ties, firms are ranked by total employment and then listed alphabetically if ties remain. Additionally, law firms that did not respond to surveys but were still included on this year's List are ranked based on PBT research. elott@ or 412-208-3823.

Cyberattack on United Natural Foods to disrupt food supply at grocers in Pittsburgh region, beyond

Attention, Pittsburgh-area organic food shoppers. Look for selection to shrink and for store shelves to at least start to go bare on select items in the wake of a cyberattack on the largest organic food distributor in the United States, Rhode Island-based United Natural Foods Inc. (NYSE: UNFI), Amazon's primary food supplier for Whole Foods Market that counts more than 30,000 grocery stores throughout the country as customers. A spokesperson for Whole Foods told an affiliate publication of the Pittsburgh Business Times that the company is working to restock its shelves 'and apologize(s) for any inconvenience this may have caused customers.' Frick Pittsburgh's Clayton mansion undergoes $10M preservation effort

For a short time, visitors to the Frick Pittsburgh's Clayton mansion will be able to take behind-the-scenes tours to view the mansion's $10 million preservation effort. The project is funded by both private and public donations and is meant to ensure that visitors to the Frick can enjoy touring the last Millionaire's Row mansion for years to come. The multi-million dollar exterior transformation also comes just after the mansion was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in May 2025. 'Preserving Clayton is crucial to our organization's future, allowing our visitors to continue learning and appreciating the important role that Frick and Gilded Age Pittsburgh played during the industrialization of America,' Chief Curator and Director of Collections Dawn R. Brean said in a release. Click here to read more from the Pittsburgh Business Times. Download the FREE WPXI News app for breaking news alerts. Cigna, Allegheny Health Network contract dispute threatens in-network access for thousands

Thousands of Cigna commercially insured people in the Pittsburgh region could lose in-network access to Allegheny Health Network by the end of June in a dispute over a new contract. AHN patients who use Cigna were notified this week of the impasse in negotiations on a new contract, meaning most care would be out of network if there isn't a new contract in place by June 30, according to a copy of a letter obtained by the Pittsburgh Business Times. About 20,000 Cigna members have used an AHN provider within the past year. It's the second such dispute in the past two years. The contract that runs out is for commercially insured members and not for Medicare or Medicare Advantage members. Cigna in March 2025 sold the Medicare-related business to Health Care Service Corp., a Chicago-based insurer. HCSC's coverage of Medicare and Medicare Advantage patients isn't impacted by this dispute and those patients will continue to have in-network access to AHN no matter what happens to the commercial insurance agreement.
