This small Pixel update could make a big difference for casual photographers

How the new education hub in the Pixel Camera app works The hub can be accessed by tapping the question mark icon in the top-right corner of the Camera interface. From there, you are taken to a new "Explore ways to take photos" section. This part of the hub includes sample images for each feature and a 'How To' section that walks you through the steps of activating and using that mode. You can also jump straight into any mode via an 'Open Camera' button. Google's solution is a built-in tutorial experience right inside the camera Google has tailored the camera education hub and made it personalized depending on your device. Pixel 9 users will see newer tools like Add Me or Video Boost, while older models will focus on legacy modes like Night Sight and Motion Blur. There's also an 'Explore ways to take videos' section with guides on Cinematic Blur, Time Lapse, and other video-centric also a 'More Tips' tab that offers general advice on framing, lighting, and improving your overall photo quality. This is ideal for beginners who want to maximize their camera skills to get that perfect shot on a trip or of a family member, especially for elders who are having a bit of trouble using the hub is styled using Google's latest Material You (Material 3) Expressive design, which has a softer and friendlier feel with dynamic color accents and rounded might be a small tweak and one that many of us tech enthusiasts will simply skip. But for regular folks that don't know the ins and outs of a Pixel's camera, this education hub is a meaningful addition.

Google starts rolling out Pixel Camera 'education hub' to help you master every feature

Ryan Haines / Android Authority TL;DR Google has started rolling out the education hub in the Pixel Camera app. The feature was announced in the June Pixel Drop. It allows users to learn how to use various Pixel Camera features and is rolling out on version 9.9 of the Pixel Camera app for the Pixel 6 and above. Google has begun rolling out the new 'education hub' in its Pixel Camera app. Available in version 9.9 of the app for Pixel 6 and newer devices, this feature was first introduced in the June Pixel Drop. So, what does it do? Since the Pixel Camera app is packed with features, and Google keeps adding more from time to time, the education hub is designed to help you get the most out of these features and learn how to use them properly. When you open the Pixel Camera app, you'll now notice a question mark in the top-right corner of the interface. Tapping this circular icon opens the 'Explore ways to take photos' section. Here, you'll find quick overviews of various camera modes, such as Add Me, Astrophotography, Night Sight, Macro Focus, Panorama, Action Pan, and more. The features shown will vary depending on your Pixel model and its camera capabilities. Each mode includes sample images and a handy 'How To' section that gives step-by-step instructions on how to use it. A floating 'Open Camera' button helps you jump straight into that mode. You can also explore the video side of the app by scrolling down from the main page to the 'Explore ways to take videos' section, with guides for features like Cinematic Blur, Macro Focus video, Time Lapse, and others. There's even a 'More Tips' section offering additional advice on how to take better photos with your Pixel. The education hub follows Google's new Material 3 Expressive design, featuring dynamic shapes and the signature friendly, rounded elements for a more modern look.

Android 16 Update Makes Some Pixel Phones Unusable: What Happens Now?

Last Updated: Android 16 update was released earlier this month but it seems the supposed stable version still has bugs that affects the Pixel users. Google released the stable Android 16 update earlier this month but it seems the version is not without its issues. Some Pixel users who've managed to install the Android 16 update have noticed that the phone has become unusable because of bugs and the unresponsive navigation buttons on the device. These issues have mostly been cited after installing the latest Android 16 OTA version which is available for Pixel 6 and later models. The problem seems to have a limited effect and not all Pixel units are showing these signs but even then for a stable version it sounds like a major bug has passed through during the testing phases. The complaints from Pixel users have made their way to Reddit who noticed the gesture and navigation buttons not working on the Pixel phones. Some of them have seen the bug in effect for a few minutes while others have pointed out about the delayed response of their touch on the display. While others say switching to a different launcher app might fix the issue and others have suggested rebooting the device, which is probably not working as planned. Even though the issue is not widespread it seems to be linked to the Pixel AI ecosystem. What Google Has Said Google seems to have acknowledged the issue and is reportedly working on a fix that should be rolling out to all the affected devices via a public update in the next few weeks. The report here claims Google's internal team has worked out a fix for the navigation bug and we expect that to be available in the next update for the Pixel users. Talking about Pixels, Google has warned Pixel 6a users about a major issue with the battery that can be only fixed by reducing its charging hold and capacity. The company is going to roll out an update that will throttle the battery usage on the Pixel 6a model and this will be mandatory for most users. Google has started the process of reaching out to the affected Pixel 6a owners and they will be informed about the next steps in July and helping them address the issue. First Published:

The 'Google incident' that has left Samsung 'shocked'

Google 's decision to move production of its Tensor G5 processor from Samsung to TSMC for the upcoming Pixel 10 series has reportedly sent shockwaves through Samsung's executive ranks, prompting an internal investigation into the foundry division's mounting problems. The switch came as a "shock" to Samsung leadership last month, according to Korean publication The Bell, with the company now "intensively analyzing" what industry insiders are calling "the Google incident ." Samsung's Device Solutions division has launched emergency strategy meetings to examine how it lost one of its last major foundry customers. Wake-up call exposes Samsung's foundry struggles "Losing Google is a case that shows the complex problems of Samsung Foundry at once," an industry source told The Bell. "There are many discussions and concerns going on internally as well." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Stuttgart: GEERS sucht 700 Testhörer für Hörgeräte ohne Zuzahlung GEERS Undo The loss represents more than just a significant contract for Samsung—it highlights the foundry's declining competitiveness against Taiwan's TSMC. Google had relied on Samsung to manufacture its custom Tensor chips since 2021, starting with the Pixel 6 series, but persistent yield issues and design limitations drove the search giant to seek alternatives. Samsung's 3nm process reportedly achieves only 50% yield rates, far below TSMC's 90% efficiency. The Korean company also lacks the semiconductor design assets that Google's "diversifying" performance requirements demand, according to the report. Pattern of customer defections continues for Samsung's foundry business Google joins a growing list of major clients abandoning Samsung's foundries for TSMC's superior manufacturing capabilities. Apple made the switch years ago, while Qualcomm now reserves Samsung only for lower-tier processors, moving flagship Snapdragon production to TSMC. The timing compounds Samsung's challenges as it struggles with its next-generation 2nm process development. The company is reportedly having difficulty proceeding as planned with the advanced node, which is crucial for its upcoming Exynos 2600 processor expected in the Galaxy S26 series. Google's five-year commitment to TSMC covers Tensor chips through the Pixel 14, effectively shutting Samsung out of smartphone processor manufacturing for one of Android's most prominent players until at least 2029.
