Woman's body found inside pink clothing donation box in Plantation "Super sad"

Plantation police are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a pink clothing donation box in Plantation on Friday morning. Police believe the woman got trapped inside and that her death appears to be an accident. This happened in the 8300 Block of West Federated Road. CBS News Miami's Peter D'oench spoke to a woman who works nearby and has donated clothes herself in that box. "They said it was a homeless person who had gotten stuck in the donation box. Which is sad. Because we would put clothes in their all the time," said the woman. "The opening to the box is pretty small. So I'm assuming they tried to get in the box to get some stuff and they got caught somehow and ended up suffocating. It's super sad. Just trying to get some fresh clothes. But I've dropped clothes off in that bin and the opening is super small. It's kind of like at the post office when you put a package in. I can't imagine someone trying to get into there," the woman continued. Neighbors and people who work nearby say they are sad to hear what happened. Police have not identified the woman at this time and are checking to see if nearby businesses may have any surveillance video.

PLANTATION, Fla., June 24, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Chewy, Inc. (NYSE: CHWY) ("Chewy"), a trusted destination for pet parents and partners everywhere, announced today the pricing of an upsized underwritten public offering of 23,952,096 shares of its Class A common stock, par value $0.01 per share, by Buddy Chester Sub LLC (the "Selling Stockholder"), which is an entity affiliated with funds advised by BC Partners PE, LP ("BC Partners"), Chewy's largest shareholder, at a price to the public of $41.95 per share (the "Offering"). The Selling Stockholder granted the underwriter a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 3,592,815 shares of Class A common stock. Chewy will not sell any shares of its Class A common stock in the Offering and will not receive any proceeds from the sale of the shares of Class A common stock being offered by the Selling Stockholder. In addition, as previously announced, concurrent with the closing of the Offering, Chewy has agreed to purchase from the Selling Stockholder $100.0 million of Chewy's Class A common stock at a price per share equal to the per share purchase price to be paid by the underwriter in the Offering (the "Concurrent Repurchase"). Perak offers land to boost agriculture, food security

SUNGAI SIPUT: The Perak government is offering land to agro-entrepreneurs in every district in a bid to strengthen the state's agricultural industry and food security. State Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun said anyone interested can submit applications to the nearest district and land office (PDT). 'The state government, through the PDT in each district, is ready to assist interested agro-entrepreneurs in acquiring or expanding land via Temporary Occupation Licences to carry out agricultural activities. 'This also demonstrates the state government's commitment to encouraging agro-entrepreneurs to expand their cultivation, thereby contributing not only to the people of Perak but also beyond,' he said. He was speaking at a press conference after attending the Dialogue and Handover Ceremony for Marketing Contract Partner Equipment 2025 at the Farm Collection Centre in Kampung Tersusun Kledang Utama here today. On July 11 last year, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad announced that the state government had, in principle, allocated land resources for agricultural development, including areas gazetted as Food Security Zones and any suitable state-owned land in Perak. Regarding today's programme, Zolkafly said the agricultural equipment contributed by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) to farmers under the Marketing Contract Partner (RPKP) programme is expected to help optimise production and increase income generation. 'The provision of equipment such as digital and analogue weighing machines, cash registers, plastic pallets, hand trolleys and so on is hoped to ease the work of the estimated 20 farmers involved in this RPKP programme,' he said. Meanwhile, FAMA deputy director-general (operations) Shahrizan Sudiman said that, to date, 62 agro-entrepreneurs and 650 farmers are directly involved in the RPKP programme nationwide.
