Oregon makes its return to the Players Era Championship in Las Vegas
It was so fun the first time around that the Oregon Ducks men's basketball team is looking for more. Oregon is scheduled to return to Las Vegas in November to participate in the Players Era Championship, an event they won in 2024. The Ducks defeated Texas A&M (80-70), San Diego State (78-68), and Alabama (83-81) to win the first title. Oregon will open this year's event with Auburn Nov. 24 and will be televised on TruTV. There's no word whether Michael Dyer will make an appearance. Oregon will play San Diego State the next day, with the championship game and consolation matchups on Nov. 27. The first two days of the Men's Championship will be pre-set, with Wednesday's championship day matchups determined following the outcome of the first two days of competition. Teams that win their first two games – and based on the matchups, there could be as many as six teams that go 2-0 – will be the first to qualify for the Players Era Championship and Third-Place game matchups, followed by teams that go 1-1. The Men's Championship Game will take place Wednesday, Nov. 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena at 6:30 PM (PST). The winner of the event will receive a million dollars to be split among the players. Winning the title in Vegas with wins over two ranked teams propelled the Ducks to a nice season where they finished 25-10 on the year and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament. With a bunch of newcomers on this squad paired up with the likes of Jackson Shelstad and Nate Bittle, the Ducks have to hope for a similar outcome in this year's trip to Las Vegas.
