'Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure Of Foggy Mountain' Blu-Ray Review - An Outrageously Funny Journey

John Goodman narrates the raucously funny adventures of Ben, Martin, and John, three childhood friends turned deadbeat coworkers who fend off hairless bears, conniving park rangers (Meg Stalter of Hacks and X Mayo of The Blackening), and a hypocritical cult leader (Bowen Yang of Saturday Night Live) to track down a priceless treasure, only to discover that finding the treasure is the easiest part of their journey. Oh, and Conan O'Brien (Conan) plays Ben's dad in it. This buddy comedy is directed by Paul Briganti (Saturday Night Live) and produced by Judd Apatow (Superbad) and Jimmy Miller (Bad Teacher). Martin Herlihy, John Higgins, and Ben Marshall — aka the Please Don't Destroy guys — lend their acting chops in addition to writing and executive producing the film. For in-depth thoughts on Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain, please see my colleague Larry Fried's review from its original streaming release here. Video Quality Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain comes to Blu-Ray in a 1080p presentation that brings everything to life as desired. The film presents the hues on display in the natural foliage, lighting and clothing with the proper depth and accuracy. This is a film with a natural color palette that is reproduced perfectly with an entrancing radiance. The skin tones look very detailed and natural throughout the ensemble. The highlights are handled skillfully, and the deep blacks do not appear to suffer from any compression artifacts. This is a story filled with shots where you can see an incredible amount of detail. During the journey, there is a constant supply of imagery that provides a nice reference to showcase the depth at play. There are no serious signs of any noise or other such digital nuisances outside of some fleeting banding. This presentation holds up very well. Audio Quality The Blu-Ray disc comes with a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track that represents this one without a hiccup. Dialogue comes through crisp and clear without ever being drowned out by the environmental effects or the score. There are a handful of bustling moments that give the track more of an exciting presence, but the hilarious exchanges are the focus. The music is showcased impeccably here with an immersive use of the surround speakers. The sound design is deftly deployed with all of the sounds positioned just right in the mix. The environmental effects create a robust soundscape of straightforward and heightened cinematic flourishes. Activity in the low end knows when to spring to life for a few key moments. This is an ideal release that brings the movie to life in a splendid way. Optional English SDH subtitles provided. Special Features Audio Commentary: Director Paul Briganti and Actors/Co-Writers Martin Herlihy, John Higgins, and Ben Marshall provide a lively and informative commentary track in which they discuss some secrets of the production, parts that they had to cut down, friends who are in the movie in small roles, the evolution of certain moments, and more. Deleted Scenes: There are nearly four minutes of unused material provided here. Gag Reel: A three-minute collection of flubbed lines, malfunctioning props, laughing fits, and more. Final Thoughts Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain is an outrageously funny feature film that is stacked wall-to-wall with clever and absurd jokes. There are tons of funny character actors populating the ensemble, but the story keeps the focus on the core trio, and it works all the better for it. The beginning of the third act begins to feel a bit tedious, yet the overall experience is so much fun. This one feels destined for a cult following in the future. Shout! Studios has given this film a Blu-Ray with a terrific A/V presentation and a great selection of features. Highly Recommended Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain is currently available to purchase on Blu-Ray. Cringe or canny?

Posted Jun 20, 2025 at 4:43 PM UTC Apple has released The Parent Presentation, an 81-page slide deck available in Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Keynote format, and a promo video hosted by 'nepo baby' / Please Don't Destroy comedian Martin Herlihy, aimed at getting students a Mac for school next year. I can't decide if it's a solid pitch (who hasn't held a family meeting to get approval for a high-priced tech purchase?) or if it will miss its target audience because it's 8 minutes long and not in a vertical video format. Either way, we also have some advice on which laptop is the best option.

Scarlett Johansson Jokes About ‘Avengers' Box Office In Please Don't Destroy Newark Airport Skit With Bad Bunny

In the final Please Don't Destroy video for the season, the depressed trio were treated to a little vacation complete with first-class airline tickets courtesy of the finale's host Scarlett Johansson. Ben Marshall, John Higgins and Martin Herlihy were enjoying the perks of first class alongside glam track suit-wearing Johansson — breaking into a song and dance — until she mentioned that they would be landing at Newark, the New Jersey airport whose recent air traffic control woes have been making national headlines. The guys' concerns were soon validated as the pilots of their plane couldn't make contact with Newark and their navigation screens went black. In the shaking first-class cabin, emergency signs came on, with playing hands flashing next to the 'no smoking' light. Anything to get off your chest?,' Herlihy yelled. 'This might sound corny but the only thing I regret is that Avengers didn't make more money at the box office,' said Johansson, who played the Black Widow in the MCU. Finally, an air traffic controller responded to the pilots' pleas. Played by the episode's musical guest Bad Bunny, he was brand new on the job but, with no one else around, he had to rely on manuals to guide the plane. Naturally, he broke into a song too, which seemed to help. The sketch, which you can watch above, also skewered Please Don't Destroy's lower than usual output this season. 'You're sad the season's over, and you only did like 2 videos?,'Johansson asked them when she first walked into their room. This season, the trio did 6 videos vs. 21 across the previous two seasons. SNL Video: Scarlett Johansson Gets an On-Air Apology From Michael Che for Obscene Jokes

Scarlett Johansson was owed an apology — and she got one. Johansson, who hosted this week's Saturday Night Live season finale, dropped by Weekend Update to confront Michael Che about the hilariously obscene jokes he wrote about her for her husband Colin Jost to deliver. (For a reminder, click here.) Well, Jost and Che engaged in another 'joke swap' this week, where they write each other jokes to read live on air, sight unseen. And in between jokes, Johansson took a seat beside Che so he could read her a Jost-penned apology to her face. (Oh, she remembers.) But Che admitted: 'I was just lashing out because I'm jealous. I've never even seen a human vagina. And notice I said 'human,' because I once spent the summer on a farm.' Che offered Johansson a high-five and asked, 'You feelin' me?' But no, she wasn't feelin' him. Che also took a moment to confess he has a lot of insecurities about his body: 'I can't even take my hoodie off during sex because I have more nipples than a pregnant dog.' SNL Video: Scarlett Johansson Raps With Please Don't Destroy About Flying First Class (and Landing at Newark)

Scarlett Johansson showed the Please Don't Destroy boys the pleasures of flying first class this week on Saturday Night Live — and showed them she's got bars, too. Johannson, who hosted Saturday's SNL season finale, popped up in a Please Don't Destroy digital short to offer the trio a way to ease their worried minds: a vacation on her dime where they'll all fly first class. Once they got on the plane, it transformed into a rap video, with the guys enjoying every bit of their newfound baller status… fully reclining seats and all. Johansson got in on the act, too, rapping that her name 'is Scar-J, when you're dealing with planes.' They tried to keep rapping with confidence, but John stopped to ask if planes have been crashing at Newark. Ben reassured him, though: 'I think they're just losing them.' Johansson then clarified: 'The crashing is happening everywhere all the time now.' She started rapping again, but a heavy bout of turbulence sent her scurrying back to her seat. And when John asked the other guys if they had anything to watch to calm his nerves, Martin only had… the first episode of Lost. Plus, the pilots had another hurdle to deal with: a rookie air traffic controller played by musical guest Bad Bunny. Press PLAY above to watch a clip from the sketch — we'll add the full sketch once it's available — and give the finale a grade in our poll.
