Bournemouth and Middlesbrough tracking Czech starlet with 35 goal involvements

Bournemouth and Middlesbrough have both made transfer checks on highly-rated Viktoria Plzen playmaker Pavel Sulc Bournemouth and Championship side Middlesbrough are among a list of clubs to have made initial enquiries for Viktoria Plzen attacking midfielder Pavel Sulc. The 24-year-old Czechia international is set to leave his current employers this summer after hitting 20 goals and registering 15 assists in 54 appearances in all competitions last season. Plzen are yet to receive any formal offers for Sulc to date but his representatives have been fielding calls over his availability and there have been requests to gauge the numbers involved in a potential transfer deal. ‌ Crucially, Sulc is now into the final year of his contract and Plzen are now anticipating a sale before the conclusion of the summer window. ‌ Andoni Iraola's Cherries and Boro, who recently appointed former Luton boss Rob Edwards, are among the clubs monitoring the player and they're not alone, as other unnamed English sides are also believed to be in the fray. There is also vast interest from Italy - namely from Lazio - Germany and Turkey, however, at this stage no deal is close and the race for Sulc's services remains well and truly open. Bournemouth are thought to be prioritising defensive reinforcements after raising £90million following the sales of Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez to Real Madrid and Liverpool, respectively, but they're also keen to bolster their attacking options. Lille centre-back Bafode Diakite remains a primary target at the back but Lazio's Mario Gila and Bournemouth's Joel Ordonez have also been shortlisted. Sulc is a No.10 but he can also operate in a deeper midfield role and additionally, he possesses the skillset to play in other positions across the frontline. ‌ He was named the Czech First League's Player of the Season and Best Midfielder last term after firing 11 goals and also notching eight assists as Plzen finished runners up to Slavia Prague. Sulc, who has won 12 caps for his country, recently travelled to Westendorf, Austria for Plzen's pre-season training camp as they gear up for their Champions League second-round qualifying clash against Swiss outfit Servette later this month. By all accounts, Plzen do not expect him to be part of their squad for the forthcoming season as they're cautious he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January 1, 2026.
