Trump is doing a ‘reverse Nixon' and using Russia against China, top adviser tells ‘Pod Force One'

President Trump is pulling a 'reverse Nixon' and putting a wedge between Russia and China after his predecessor 'drove' Beijing and Moscow together, US Chief of Protocol Monica Crowley explained in the latest episode of 'Pod Force One.' Crowley, who worked on behalf of former President Richard Nixon in his later years out of office, told Post columnist and now-podcast host Miranda Devine that Trump's approach would eventually leverage Russian power to act as a bulwark against growing Chinese power. 'President Trump is doing almost, or wants to, I think, do a reverse Nixon and try to improve relations with Moscow, to use Russia as a counterweight against growing Chinese power,' Crowley said. 'Presidents of both parties for decades have exerted themselves to keep both countries apart, and then Biden, of course, drove them together, which is madness,' she noted. In February 1972, Nixon made a historic trip to begin the process of normalizing relations with China after a quarter century of diplomatic silence — but also to strategically counter the Soviet Union. Trump by contrast has sought to decrease diplomatic tensions with Russian President Vladimir Putin amid his war with Ukraine, while engaging in more aggressive trade negotiations with China. 5 'President Trump is doing almost, or wants to, I think, do a reverse Nixon and try to improve relations with Moscow, to use Russia as a counterweight against growing Chinese power,' US Chief of Protocol Monica Crowley said. New York Post At times, he's lashed out at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, accusing him of being a 'dictator' as well as an ungrateful recipient of US foreign aid that's bankrolled his nation's war against Russia. In the most shocking confrontation between the world leaders this term, Trump accused Zelensky of 'gambling with World War III' during a heated Oval Office meeting Feb. 28. But Trump has also railed against Putin for conducting drone strikes on civilians in Ukraine, claiming in May that the Russian strongman 'has gone absolutely CRAZY!' Former President Joe Biden often praised Zelensky's valor in confronting Russia's war machine and even once suggesting during a widely watched speech in Poland that Putin 'cannot remain in power.' Despite the shifting approaches to dealing with Russia, both Biden and Trump similarly applied tariffs to China while in office. 5 Trump has also railed against Putin for conducting drone strikes on civilians in Ukraine, claiming in May that the Russian strongman 'has gone absolutely CRAZY!' Elsewhere in the podcast, Crowley and Devine discussed how Nixon and Trump had exchanged letters in the 1980s and 1990s — and how former first lady Pat Nixon had admired the real estate mogul's appearance on 'The Phil Donahue Show' and claimed he had a future in politics. As chief of protocol, Crowley advises the president, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio on matters of diplomatic protocol, both national and international. She also holds the rank of assistant secretary of state. Reflecting on what drew her to serve in the Trump administration, Crowley said that from the beginning, she knew that he was 'the one that is not just going to save the GOP, but he's the one that's going to save the country, and frankly, the West.'

Trump believes 2020 election loss was 'providential' so his second term fell on America's 250th birthday

President Trump now sees his 2020 election loss as a 'providential' occurrence that put him in office to preside over the celebration of America's 250th birthday, US Chief of Protocol Monica Crowley told the Post's Miranda Devine on 'Pod Force One.' 'Now [Trump] says, 'You know what? 2020 had to happen that way. It was providential,' Crowley told Devine in the latest episode of the podcast out Wednesday. 'It was because now he's back, and he will preside over these incredible events.' The chief of protocol added that '[Trump] figured, well, after 2020's election, he wasn't going to be in office to see those events,' which include primarily the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence's signing, along with the FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympics. Every week, Post columnist Miranda Devine sits down for exclusive and candid conversations with the most influential disruptors in Washington. Subscribe here! 'America 250 is the one that is upon us now,' Crowley said. 'We are going to have a year-long celebration of America.' As recently as May, Trump was still calling his 2020 election loss 'RIGGED' and '[t]he biggest crime of all,' though federal judges heard evidence in dozens of court cases without ruling any widespread fraud had occurred enough to hand the victory to Joe Biden. Allegations of fraud in the 2020 contest were also rejected by Trump officials, including former FBI Director Christopher Wray and former Attorney General Bill Barr. 4 'Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason,' President Trump proclaimed during his victory speech in the early hours of his Election Day celebration party at Mar-a-Lago. AP 4 'America 250 is the one that is upon us now,' Crowley said. 'We are going to have a year-long celebration of America.' Biden carried all the swing states except for North Carolina in 2020, whereas Trump trounced Vice President Kamala Harris in all seven battleground states in 2024. Some clergy members — including an Episcopalian bishop who took a swipe at Trump as he took office — have referred to him later surviving an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in July 2024 as a 'providential' act that paved the way for his return to the White House. 4 Trump's second term also included the 250th birthday of the US Army, which the president marked with a proudly patriotic parade in Washington, DC, last month. One hotly anticipated event will involve tall ship parades, similar to ones that occurred in 1976 and 2000, venturing into New York Harbor. 'Of course, the East Coast is the central location of the American Revolution, so cities like Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, DC, will be critical, but all 50 states in the Union have their own 250 commissions,' Crowley said. 'It is going to be a massive celebration.' 'In Philadelphia, which obviously is going to be central to America 250, we have planned a mock debate in Independence Hall,' she added. 'So current members of Congress probably going to take part in that. A lot of these things are still in the planning stages, but I can guarantee you a massive birthday party for America.' The World Cup games will also be hosted partially in Los Angeles the same year, followed by the Olympic Games in the City of Angels in 2028. 'We're getting through the America's birthday, we're getting through the FIFA World Cup, but the Olympic Games are coming down the pike very fast,' Crowley also said. 'We will stay on top of it too with regard to the administration to make sure that the Olympic Games, just like America's birthday and the World Cup, showcase America at its best.'

ICE rescues trafficked children who went missing under the Biden administration

Border czar Tom Homan has confirmed that 'thousands' of migrant children trafficked under the Biden administration have been rescued. According to Homan, children were smuggled across the southern border and even sex trafficked to paedophiles. The border czar revealed that a pregnant 14-year-old living with two adult males was found only two weeks ago. Homan's comments came during an episode of Pod Force One, with the border czar revealing the grim fates of other missing children. The border czar revealed that some of the children smuggled were forced to work on ranches and chicken farms before being found by ICE agents. Unfortunately, hundreds and thousands of migrant children who entered the US during Joe Biden's presidency are still unaccounted for.

Trump border czar Homan, wife ‘living separately' because of death threats

President Trump's border czar Tom Homan said in a new interview that he and his wife are not currently living together because of death threats he has received for enforcing Trump's immigration crackdown and the amount of time he spends working. 'My wife's living separately from me right now, mainly because I worked for many hours, but mostly because of the death threats against me,' Homan told New York Post columnist Miranda Devine on Wednesday's episode of her 'Pod Force One' podcast. 'I see her as much as I can, but the death threats against me and my family are outrageous.' Homan, who holds the formal title White House executive associate director of enforcement and removal operations, was a top immigration aide to Trump during his first presidency but moved to the private sector and worked as an immigration policy pundit over the past four years. 'Even my wife said, 'You know, it's a huge pay cut,' because I'm doing good in the private sector,' he said of receiving Trump's call to join the new administration while the couple was having dinner one night. 'She's in the middle of remodeling — months of stuff — and all that stopped because I'm leaving the private sector, going back to a government paycheck.' He said she urged him to do it anyway. 'She said, 'You need to go back or we'll get divorced … because if you don't go back, you'll be waking up every day, pissed off that you didn't go back, and I've gotta live with four more years of you being pissed off, so go back and do the job,'' Homan recalled, chuckling. Homan told Devine he didn't hesitate at the chance to join Trump's second administration this year and doesn't regret the decision, despite personal sacrifices. 'I'm not going anywhere,' he said. 'I mean, I had a thousand protestors at my house in Upstate New York, my lake house.' 'I'm not going away, 'cause I know how important it is to secure our border,' he added. Homan defended Immigrations and Customs Enforcement activity in Los Angeles, which sparked mass anti-ICE protests that prompted Trump to deploy thousands of National Guardsmen and Marines to guard federal buildings and workers. 'We were serving three criminal arrest warrants … it was a criminal investigation that happened to deal with money laundering, tax evasion and customs fraud,' Homan said. 'We know that in the Garment District, there is strong suspicion that some of that funding is sent to Mexico and Colombia to fund cartel activity, so it was a criminal investigation.' 'Right away, the left went nuts, saying 'ICE is doing an immigration raid,' and they came out in force,' he added. Over the course of the nearly hourlong interview with Devine, Homan praised New York Mayor Eric Adams (D), saying he believes Adams cares about public safety, and derided other Democrats whom he accused of using immigration as a political ploy. 'Every Democrat I ask these questions to, they can't answer me: What's the downside of less drugs coming across? What's the downside of less sex trafficking of women and children? What's the downside of less people in terrorist organizations coming across? What's the downside of less gang members and criminals coming across?' Homan said. 'What's the downside of a secure border?' 'They'll never admit it, but they know that they see a future political benefit,' he added.

Migrant kids trafficked to pedophiles under Biden are being rescued by ICE, border czar Tom Homan tells ‘Pod Force One'

Migrant children who went missing after being smuggled across the border under the Biden administration have been rescued from being sex-trafficked to pedophiles — including a 14-year-old pregnant girl found living with adult men two weeks ago — according to Border Czar Tom Homan. In the latest episode of the 'Pod Force One' podcast, Homan said Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have also discovered minors who were forced into servitude on ranches and chicken farms, as ICE searches for hundreds of thousands of migrant children unaccounted for during Joe Biden's four-year illegal alien invasion. 'There were 300,000 missing children under the last administration,' said Homan. 'We've found thousands of them… We rescued victims of sex trafficking [and] two weeks ago, we rescued a 14-year-old that was already pregnant, living with adult men… Advertisement 7 Migrant children who went missing after being smuggled across the border under the Biden administration have been rescued from being sex-trafficked to pedophiles, according to Border Czar Tom Homan. Tamara Beckwith 'We rescued some victims of forced labor. We found children working on ranches and chicken farms, not going to school, but enslaved labor in the United States of America… 'Some of the children we found [were] perfectly fine with their families… They just didn't respond to call-ins [because they] didn't want to face the consequences of immigration court.' Advertisement The number of unaccompanied alien children [UACs] crossing the border surged to record levels under Biden, as changes to border enforcement policies incentivized families and smugglers to send minors to the US. More than 500,000 children were recorded entering the country and were placed with sponsors while awaiting immigration proceedings. 7 In the latest episode of the Pod Force One podcast, Homan said Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have also discovered minors who were forced into servitude on ranches and chicken farms. A report last August from the Department of Homeland Security's office of inspector general found that the Biden administration lost track of hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied children and placed some with potentially dangerous sponsors who had not been adequately vetted. More than 31,000 addresses provided by sponsors turned out to be 'blank, undeliverable, or missing apartment numbers,' the inspector general reported. At one location, 'sponsor addresses were incorrect 80 percent of the time'. Advertisement ICE officers at one field office also told the inspector general that thousands of migrant children had been released to sponsors 'who are not immediate family and are not a parent, sibling, or grandparent.' 7 A report last August from the Department of Homeland Security's office of inspector general found that the Biden administration lost track of hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied children. James Keivom HHS released more than 14,500 migrant children in 2023 and more than 9,600 in 2024 'to unrelated sponsors' or distant relatives. Of more than 2,400 children released to sponsors over one week in November 2023, only 1,000 went to their parent or a legal guardian. About 300 went to unrelated sponsors or distant family members. Three children were released to their 'spouses,' including one spouse who was 40 years old. Advertisement 'Although these relatives may have been appropriately qualified, [one ICE officer] noted the UACs most at risk for trafficking or forced labor are those released to an unrelated sponsor.' 7 James Keivom During visits to three sponsor addresses where multiple children had been released, the inspector general found 'potentially unsafe conditions' including 'bars on the inside of a window' in an area that was 'very dangerous, was run by gangs, and had high crime rates and daily shootings. The [ICE officer] noted one UAC within their area of responsibility left their sponsor's address to join a local gang.' Another sponsor address was found to be 'a rundown apartment complex with appliances stacked on patios and apartments with no doors. Police also reported criminal activities at this location, such as a stabbing and shootings. 'Another sponsor address was a dilapidated motel that did not have a kitchen. UACs' sponsors provided this address five times. 7 Tamara Beckwith 'During a site visit in another city, ICE officers noted an illegal drug deal occurring based on their law enforcement experience at an apartment complex where 44 UACs had been released in FY 2023.' Homan told 'Pod Force One' that the Biden administration rushed the vetting process to avoid the 'optics' of overcrowding at the border. Advertisement 'They didn't care about the invasion itself; it was the optics.' 7 'They didn't care about the invasion itself; it was the optics,' Trump's border czar said. James Keivom DNA tests were routinely used during the first Trump administration to verify that an adult accompanying a child really was the parent, he said, but the Biden administration abandoned the tests. Homan said in some of the DNA testing 'as high as 30 percent [of] the families weren't families. Not relatives at all. The [children] were being trafficked… Advertisement 'A lot of parents paid a smuggling organization to bring their kids [over the border]. Some of these children were trafficked. We know HSI [Homeland Security Investigations] had several investigations where a child was rented by the criminal cartel to an adult male or female, crossed the border [and] when you're done, you send the kid back [and] re-rent them.' 7 Homan had harsh words for Democrat politicians like California senator Alex Padilla who are 'screaming and yelling about ICE arresting peoplee' after 'sex trafficking of women and children skyrocketed' under Biden. Tamara Beckwith Homan had harsh words for Democrat politicians like California senator Alex Padilla who are 'screaming and yelling about ICE arresting people and ICE enforcing the law. Meanwhile, in four years under Biden… sex trafficking of women and children skyrocketed, not a word.' Advertisement 'Thousands of children were being smuggled into the country every week. Over half a million children were smuggled into the United States. Separated from their families, put into the hands of criminal cartels… not a word.' But he vowed: 'We're going to find every one of these kids. President Trump made a promise. We're going to keep that promise.'
