Summerside, P.E.I., man arrested for stolen truck, tools
Summerside Police Services arrested a 41-year-old man in relation to a break, enter and theft that occurred on June 23. Police say the Summerside area man allegedly broke into a city-owned storage facility. During the break-in, a Dodge Ram truck along with a large quantity of power tools and equipment were stolen. The truck was recovered, and the suspect was identified as a result of the ongoing investigation. The 41-year-old man will appear in court at a later date to answer to charges, including possession of stolen property and driving while prohibited. Insurance for protest marches out of reach for some organizations on Prince Edward Island
The Island Peace Committee has been holding rallies and marches for a long time. But this year, Charlottetown Police Services told the organization that in order to do so, it needs to hold $2 million of third-party liability insurance. As CBC's Stacey Janzer reports, the group wants the city to change the policy.
