Oliver Bonas to open first ever outlet store — with at least 30% off
Home to colourful knick-knacks, kitschy furnishings and statement accessories, Oliver Bonas has been a haven for middle-class shoppers since it opened in 1993. It's certainly no place for a minimalist. The British lifestyle brand is known for its eclectic mix of homeware, bedroom decor, quirky gifts, and, frankly, expensive price tags. But now, customers can look forward to buying its cult products at a healthy discount, as the high street chain is opening its first ever outlet store. From July 19, Oliver Bonas fans can get hold of the brand's full range of product categories, including homeware, fashion and jewellery — with most items available at a minimum 30% discount. The brand new, 2,438 sq ft store will be located on Gunwharf Quays, a waterfront retail park in Portsmouth. The shopping centre is currently home to over 90 outlet stores, including Polo Ralph Lauren, Boss, Coach, UGG, Nike and The White Company. Here, visitors can find products from their favourite premium brands for up to 60% off, and there's also plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes to relax in after a long day of bagging bargains. Yvonne Clay, centre director at Gunwharf Quays, said she's 'delighted' that Oliver Bonas has chosen the shopping centre for its first ever outlet store. 'This news not only reinforces Gunwharf Quays' position as a leading outlet shopping destination but also highlights the continued confidence in bricks-and-mortar retail that we're seeing,' she added. Meanwhile, Sevda Cankorur, head of retail at Oliver Bonas, commented: 'We're thrilled to be opening our very first outlet store at Gunwharf Quays. 'This is an exciting milestone for Oliver Bonas as we expand into the outlet space, making our joyful and design-led products more accessible to even more customers. 'Gunwharf Quays is a vibrant destination with a strong retail mix, and we're looking forward to sharing the Oliver Bonas experience at outlet prices.' Consumers aren't the only ones looking to cut costs either. UK supermarkets are trialling cheaper, US-style plastic trolleys in select branches, in an effort to gather feedback from customers. More Trending These designs are less attractive to thieves, who typically steal the metal carts in order to sell them on for scrap, potentially saving companies thousands in replacement costs every year. They're also said to be lighter and easier to steer, without the clattering noise traditional models can make as they're wheeled through the aisles. Not all shoppers are on board, however, and a Reddit post about the new trolleys has sparked disapproving replies. Some branded the move a 'waste of money', while one user predicted they trolleys would 'end up grubby and stinking very quickly'. Do you have a story to share? Staggering Wimbledon gift shop prices unveiled as one jumper costs over £300
Wimbledon 2025 merch leaves two fans shocked by prices in a viral TikTok of the annual tournament's gift shop, as many other point out the outrageous prices for household items Following Jannik Sinner 's win on July 13 against 2024's champion Carlos Alcaraz, attendees completed the Wimbledon ritual by visiting the court's gift shop, only to be left shocked by the prices of jumpers, towels, candles and parasols. Wimbledon's men's singles player, Sinner, won yesterday's Men's Singles final, winning a huge sum of £3 million. To celebrate the iconic victory, fans walked to the official gift shop - two in particular posting a light-hearted video on TikTok 'guessing the price' of each item. The user's post was captioned "Wimbledon prices are NOT for the weak," and showed the creator being followed around the store, estimating the prices of popular memorabilia merchandise - to then laugh in shock at the actual price, to tennis fans' horror online. Accumulating 1.9million views and 121,000 likes in just two days, the pairs' hysterical clip highlights the additional prices of Wimbledon, as the duo giggled from item to item over the astronomical prices of everyday items like the Wimbledon towel, retailing at a whopping £40, and a branded umbrella for £59. Most shocking was the knitted cardigan. Not even the most expensive jumper available, the girls picked up the short-sleeve cardigan, saying: "What do you think of this? Right this looks so 'spenny' [expensive]," before taking a guess. She added: "Maybe I'm stretching but £95?" The TikTok creators were left speechless to find jumper cost a staggering £319. With other knitwear costing up to £449 - and one particular Polo Ralph Lauren sweater priced at £549 - many took to the comments of the video to share their thoughts. A TikToker wrote: "Towels priced at £40... I now understand why Swiatek is just stuffing it in her bag like that LMAO," with another saying: "I was so disgusted by the greed at Wimbledon. That tournament makes a net profit of hundreds of millions of pounds each year. They price the food, drink and merchandise extortionately high". This was accepted by 4,400 other viewers in terms of likes. In the defence of pricing, user Holly highlighted that the more costly jumpers were due to the quality and material, stating: "The knitwear is Ralph Lauren just bare that in mind," however others pointed out many of the Polo products lacked the logo designer fans prefer. Michael Rider's CELINE Debut Is the Beginning of a Great Legacy
In Paris on Sunday,Michael Ridermade his much-anticipated debut atCELINE, the French luxury house at which the newly minted creative director formerly worked for a decade under Phoebe Philo's lead. A homecoming of sorts, the kaleidoscopic spectacle marked the beginning of a new era — one defined by preppy style codes, sculptural silhouettes, glamorous eveningwear, and, yes, skinny jeans — in the wake ofHedi Slimane's departurelast year. 'Coming back to CELINE, and to Paris, back to 16 rue Vivienne in a changed world, has been incrediblyemotional for me. And a complete joy,' said Rider, who more recently led design at Polo Ralph Lauren. 'CELINE stands for quality, for timelessness and for style, ideals that are difficult to catch, and even harder to hold on to, to define, despite more and more talk about them out there.' In a mix of business and extravagance, the collection opened with muted trench coats, blazers, sweaters, and button-ups heavily accessorized with decadent, gold necklaces and bracelets. Bold blues and saturated reds crept into the picture on oversized shoulder bags, wide-legged dress pants, and logo-laden scarves, before true greens and aquamarines commanded sports coats and sweaters made with perfect proportions. Given the CELINE tag's glaring prestige (and the hefty price point associated with it), these are the kinds of pieces that most shoppers would view as investments, the sort of prized closet fixtures that, eventually, pass down through generations. That idea of longevity fueled Rider's vision. He mused, 'I've always loved the idea of clothing that lives on, that becomes a part of the wearer's life, that may capture a moment in time but also speaks to years and years of gestures and occasions and change, of the past, the present and the future, of memories, of usefulness and of fantasy, of life really.' Rider is just getting started, but he's clearly got a legacy-defining plan in place. See his full debut collection for CELINE in the gallery above.

Ralph Lauren invests in southern Spain with new store in Marbella
Ralph Lauren is expanding its presence in the Spanish market, with the opening of a new store in Marbella's Puerto Banús. Marking the beginning of summer, the American brand has opened a boutique at number 7 of the Benabola pier, in the luxurious Marbella enclave. This new store sells a selection of Polo Ralph Lauren items for men and women, including polo shirts, pants, Oxford shirts, T-shirts, and caps. Also available are the Purple Label line for men and the Ralph Lauren Collection for women. The boutique's interior design is inspired by the southern Spanish coast and the traditional architecture of the area, while also incorporating nods to Ralph Lauren's classic American heritage. Thus, some of the elements that define the space are the terracotta floors, painted tiles, aged bronze metal elements, or vintage furniture. "The opening of the new store in Marbella reinforces Ralph Lauren's commitment to deliver elevated lifestyle experiences in key international markets for consumers," explained the brand in a statement. With the arrival of summer, many brands are choosing to settle in Marbella and its surroundings: Dolce & Gabbana returns this season to the beach club La Cabane, while Coccinelle has settled temporarily in El Corte Inglés Marbella. In terms of real estate, but without leaving luxury, Versace announced just a few days ago the launch of a real estate development in Marbella, with houses for sale for 12 million euros. The impact of luxury in the area is indisputable: .
