Big Breeze: From the Streets to the Stage, Guided by Faith
Atlanta rapper Big Breeze, known for his raw authenticity and street gospel sound, recently opened up about his transformative journey from a life of hustling to becoming a voice of faith and hope in the music industry. In an exclusive interview, Breeze shared his story of redemption, his influences, and his purpose. Growing up on Atlanta's west side, Breeze described his early life as a struggle to survive. 'I was in them streets, man, trying to figure it out,' he admitted. 'Selling drugs, toting guns, just trying to get some money. Nine-to-fives weren't an option for people like me.' The turning point came when he felt an undeniable call to change. 'I was in the trap, tired of the lifestyle—gambling, serving, looking over my shoulder every two seconds,' he recalled. 'I heard a voice say, 'Go to church.'' Initially hesitant, Breeze eventually walked into a church and was stunned to see one of his former drug suppliers there. 'It shook my world. I thought, 'If he's here, maybe there's something here for me too.'' Breeze's music reflects his unique journey, blending street influences with a message of faith. He credits artists like Future and Young Thug for inspiring his work ethic and sound, though he's clear their messages don't align with his current path. 'It's not about what they talk about—it's their science, their melodies. I wanted to make music that hits different.' Now, Breeze sees his purpose as bridging gaps. 'I come from the streets, but I'm here to show we're all one kingdom under God,' he said. 'I want to bring people together—street gospel, mainstream Christian, all of it.' His latest collaboration with Kijan Boone and our very own Trendsetter Sense, 'Pop Out,' featured on Reach Records' Summer Twenty-Five Playlist , showcases his growth. 'I just wanted to rap, let it all out,' he said of the track. 'When I finished, I knew it was special.' Big Breeze's story is one of resilience, faith, and purpose. 'I'm sold out for Christ,' he declared. 'No matter what I look like or where I come from, God gave me all this.' Fans Think Drake Took Shots at LeBron James & Other Former Friends On 'What Did I Miss ?,' X Debates The Bars
Source: Cole Burston / Getty / Drake / LeBron James Drake is still salty about the lyrical ass-whooping he endured at the hands of Kendrick Lamar and using that energy in his new music to call out his 'so-called friends.' Late last night, Drake debuted 'What Did I Miss,' the first single from his upcoming album Iceman , and he did so with a bizarre stream. Of course, the song touches on the aftermath of Drake's battle with Kendrick Lamar, and he didn't let those close to him who he felt were playing both sides. On the new track, the 6 God raps, 'Last time I looked to my right, you n—s was standing beside me / How can some people I love hang around pu**ies who try me?' He even touched on Lamar's homecoming show, which was also his victory lap, the Pop Out, and many believe took a dig at NBA champion and Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. 'I'm back in your city tonight, walkin' around with my head high / I saw bro at the Pop Out with them but been dick riding gang since 'Headlines.'' Before he dropped the single, Drake hopped on a live stream titled 'Iceman: Episode 1,' where the rapper can be seen driving around Toronto in a truck with a false phone number and the website written all over it while he played the single. While Drizzy was shown love, one local didn't share the same sentiment calling Canadian Hip-Hop star a 'b*tch,' with Drake puffing up his chest and flexing his artificial abs, telling him, 'Don't look away now. Don't get shy now. We'll fold that up right now.' I'm not sure if this is the alleged 'bomb' that Drake stan Mal of the Rory & Mal podcast was referring to, but it is sparking conversations on social media, with many side-eyeing Drizzy's shot at James. Lol, bruh. You can see more reactions to Drake's new song below. Drake's 'What Did I Miss?': a fiery response to betrayal in his Kendrick Lamar feud
Drake released a new single titled 'What Did I Miss?', addressing the aftermath of his well-publicised feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. Image: Drake Instagram Drake released a new single titled 'What Did I Miss?' on Friday, July 4, addressing the aftermath of his public feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. The surprise release was preceded by a live stream on Drake's YouTube channel, where he not only debuted the track but also laid the groundwork for his forthcoming album, "Iceman'. With cutting lyrics that reflect on the strains of friendship and loyalty, Drake dives deep into the emotional fallout stemming from his recent disputes with Lamar. 'Last time I looked to my right, you n—s was standing beside me / How can some people I love hang around pussies who try me?' he raps, laying bare his feelings of betrayal by those he once considered close allies. The artist has particularly notable references to Lamar's 'The Pop Out' concert held in Los Angeles last year, saying, 'I'm back in your city tonight, walkin' around with my head high / I saw bro at the Pop Out with them but been dick-riding gang since 'Headlines.'' These lines exemplify the tension that continues to boil over between the two titans of contemporary hip hop. Drake's introspection doesn't stop there; he reflects on his commitment to his crew and questions their loyalty in a strong third verse: 'What did I miss?/ When I was looking at y'all and cooking with y'all/ And giving out verses and bookings to y'all ...' 'What Did I Miss?' was produced by a cadre of talent, including London Cyr, O Lil Angel, DJ LEWIS, and others, and has already made an impressive debut, soaring to the top spot on both the US Spotify and Apple Music charts shortly after its release. While some fans have lauded the song as a return to form for the Toronto rapper, others have noted that his essence has evolved very little since his last major release. "Great production but good God he's been doing this flow since CLB," one listener remarked, while another defended the track, saying, 'Unfortunately for the haters, this a banger.' This release comes amidst a fierce and ongoing rivalry with Lamar, where both artists have engaged in a series of retaliatory diss tracks targeting one another. Their differences, rooted in conflicting claims regarding authenticity and artistic integrity, have captured the attention of hip hop enthusiasts across the world, particularly following Lamar's impactful track 'Not Like Us'. Despite the intense scrutiny and mixed fan reactions, there's no denying the anticipation surrounding Drake's upcoming album, "Iceman'.

Drake Premieres 'What Did I Miss?' Music Video in Cinematic Livestream to Launch New Album Campaign
Summary Drakeis gearing up to release a new album expected to release summer 2025, with many speculating it to be namedIceman, following the release of an hour-long YouTube livestream titled 'ICEMAN EPISODE 1' teasing what fans can expect. In the video, he plays a fictional employee at a Toronto ice storage facility called 'The Iceman,' using a cinematic, narrative-driven format to build intrigue. The concept hints at the album's possible theme, blending scripted storytelling with subtle nods to real-life tension and emotional undercurrents. Midway through the video, a TV in the break room shows archival footage of a young Drake, which cues into an exclusive premiere of his new music video 'What Did I Miss?' The track directly addresses the highly publicized feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. He calls out unnamed individuals for 'playing both sides,' rapping pointed bars like:'You switched on the guys and supported a hater' and'It's love for my brothers and death to a traitor.' Some fans believe these lyrics may also be aimed at NBA stars LeBron James and DeMar DeRozan — both longtime friends of Drake who have mutually supported each other's endeavors. Their appearance at Kendrick Lamar's Pop Out concert in L.A. has fueled speculation, especially as reports suggest Drake's relationship with DeRozan has become strained following the latter's public support of Kendrick during the ongoing rap feud. While his new track 'What Did I Miss?' grabs most of the spotlight, the video also teases several unreleased songs, including one titled 'Super Max Deals' — an R&B-leaning cut reminiscent of 'Do Not Disturb' in tone and delivery from his earlier albumMore Life. As expected, the upcoming album appears to blend both Hip-Hop and R&B, offering a range of sounds for fans across genres. With its blend of raw lyricism, immersive storytelling, and interactive fan moments, the rollout marks one of Drake's most creatively ambitious promotions to date. First teased in August 2024, Iceman is shaping up to be a long-awaited, multi-layered project. Stream his new single 'What Did I Miss?' on Spotify and Apple Music below, and check out the full livestream above.

Drake's New Track 'What Did I Miss?' Addresses Beef & Betrayal, Social Media Reacts
Source: Carmen Mandato / Getty Drake's been hinting at his new album —allegedly titled Iceman — for weeks, but last night, July 4, he ushered in his latest era with a new single. It all began when he cryptically posted to his social media, alerting fans that he'd be dropping something at 9pm. Eventually, a livestream YouTube entitled 'ICEMAN EPISODE ONE' launched, showing a back room of a random warehouse for about an hour with random glimpses of Drake walking around like a blue-collar worker on his lunch break. Then, the beat finally drops and he premieres his new song, 'What Did I Miss?' The scene quickly changes to Drake surrounded by dozens of long guns meticulously laid out near a backyard pool while dancing. Although he may have claimed that he was done rapping about his tiring beef with Kendrick Lamar, he immediately falls back into addressing his newfound enemies. 'Askin' me, 'How did it feel?' Can't say it didn't surprise me,' he harmonizes in the chorus. 'Last time I looked to my right, you n-ggas was standing beside me, How can some people I love hang around p-ssies who try me? ' The revenge talk continues in the first verse where he debates his get back with bars like ' You n-ggas just better not ask for no favors, It's love for my brothers and death to a traitor ' and ' You switched on the guys and supported a hater .' It's unclear who the bars are directed at and could reference several sideshows in the beef like Rick Ross, Future, The Weeknd, and A$AP Rocky, all of whom he's worked with on chart-topping hits. Drake's gets more pointed in the second verse when he raps, 'I saw bro went to Pop Out with them, but been d-ck riding gang since 'Headlines.'' Not only is this a reference to Kendrick Lamar's 2024 Juneteenth The Pop Out: Ken & Friends concert that served as a victory lap for winning the beef, but it could also reference LeBron James, who was seen at the arena singing along to 'Not Like Us.' The paranoia continues in the third verse when he repeatedly asks himself how he missed the backstabbing signs of people who he gave verses to, gave guest spots at his tours, and put money in their pockets. ' Word for word at all of the shows, You always felt like this, man, what did I miss? ' he says as the track ends. In the second part of the livestream, he's seen driving around in a delivery truck with another released song on the aux, tentatively called 'Super Max,' as hometown fans chase him down in real time. While whipping the truck, someone in the street yells, 'Drake's a b-tch,' which he quickly claps back at. 'What Did I Miss?' is currently available on streaming services.
