Bologna defenders Beukema and Posch pushing for the exit

Bologna are in for a defensive revamp, as Sam Beukema is pushing to leave for Napoli, while Stefan Posch has interest from Germany. The Rossoblu won the Coppa Italia and therefore qualified for the Europa League next season, consolidating their status with coach Vincenzo Italiano. Advertisement According to Il Resto del Carlino newspaper, via Tuttomercatoweb, Beukema's father visited the Bologna head office this week to openly request a transfer. He had also met with Napoli director of sport Giovanni Manna two days ago as a representative of Global Football Management. There is a big gap between Bologna's €30m asking price and the most recent proposal from Napoli, which is thought to be around €25m. Meanwhile, Atalanta have decided not to use their option to buy Posch outright from Bologna. German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg notes that he has interest from several Bundesliga sides, and should be quite cheap considering his contract only runs to June 2026.

Stefan Posch potentially heading back to TSG Hoffenheim

Austrian international Stefan Posch may be in line for a Bundesliga return. The long-time Hoffenheim man – per Kicker – may be returning to his former club before the January transfer window closes. Posch last kicked in Kraichgau during the 2022/23 campaign. The versatile defender ended up racking up 109 German top-flight appearances during seven seasons spent in Sinsheim. He played as a central defender, defensive midfielder, and right back whilst donning a TSG trikot. Posch made his last appearance for Hoffenheim on the opening day of the 2022/23 season. In something of an ignominious exit, he would be sent off on double yellows in the August 2022 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Hoffenheim then initially loaned him out to Bologna before selling him outright to the Serie A outfit for €5m. Since moving to Italy, Posch has experienced his fair share of ups and downs. The 42-times-capped ÖFB international's estimated market value dipped down to €7m in November of 2022. Posch managed to pump it back up to his career high of €14m seven months later. At present, Posch is valued at €10m after failing out of the starting XI of Bologna head-coach Vincenzo Italiano. The Hoffenheim youth academy product has started just seven of 22 league fixtures thus far this year. GGFN | Peter Weis

Bologna defender Posch close to Hoffenheim transfer

Reports in Germany claim that TSG Hoffenheim are in advanced negotiations to sign Bologna defender Stefan Posch. Sky Sports Deutschland maintain that the talks are progressing well and the clubs hope to strike an agreement before transfer deadline day. The 27-year-old is only under contract at the Stadio Dall'Ara until June 2026, so it would be in their interests to sell before the risk of losing him as a free agent becomes a consideration. Curiously, this would represent a return, because after leaving his native Austria in 2015, Posch joined the Hoffenheim youth academy and worked his way up to represent the senior squad. Bologna first signed him on loan in September 2022 and then made the move permanent for €5m a year later. He made 20 appearances for Bologna this season between Serie A and the Champions League, playing at right-back or in central defence. DAZN transfer pundit Orazio Accomando reports that Wolfsburg are also interested in signing Posch this month, but that Hoffenheim have the advantage. 🚨🔵 TSG Hoffenheim exploring deal to sign Stefan #Posch until Deadline Day! 27 y/o versatile defender from Bologna with a contract valid until 2026.
