Top Notre Dame O-Line target Kennedy Brown ranked No. 4 overall in first 2027 Rivals300

🚨NEW🚨 OT Kennedy Brown ranks No. 4 and 5-stars in the initial 2027 Rivals300. A top Notre Dame target has made a major impact in the initial Class of 2027 Rivals300 rankings. Offensive tackle Kennedy Brown picked up an offer from the Fighting Irish coming off of their Pot of Gold Day this past March, and the five-star, Hoosier-turned-Texan has been ranked No. 4 overall in the first 2027 Rivals300. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Kingwood (Humble, TX) product has Hoosier State roots. He lived in a suburb on the north side of Indianapolis before transferring to the Houston area three years ago. He is receiving loads of national attention, but a return to the Hoosier State could be on the horizon in the form of playing for the Fighting Irish. Brown plays with an elite combination of physicality and athleticism, two key traits when projecting the growth of young offensive tackles. He is ranked as the No. 1 overall offensive tackle, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Notre Dame legacy recruit Julius Jones Jr. named MVP at Under Armour Future 50

Notre Dame has quickly become Legacy U., with several sons of former Fighting Irish or NFL players on the current roster or being heavily recruited, one of whom just picked up an honor. Julius Jones Jr., who already has a scholarship offer from the Irish, was named the MVP by On3 at the Under Armour Future 50 event Saturday. One of the top recruits in the 2027 class, the St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, FL) four-star wide receiver shined at the one-day camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, which featured dozens of elite high school juniors. Jones is the son of former ND running back Julius Jones. "Julius Jones put together an absolute clinic between the white lines on Saturday and was borderline unguardable," On3 national scout Cody Bellaire said. "He's fluid and has excellent hip looseness that he shows off at the top of his routes. He does such a great job of setting up defenders and keeping them on their heels before snapping them off and creating separation. "Jones is an easy hands catcher as well that does a good job of plucking the football away from his frame instead of letting it get to his chest. He had some serious wow plays during the competitive period, including five total touchdowns during 7-on-7. His toe-tapping grab in the back of the endzone was the catch of the day and capped off a fantastic overall performance." The 5-foot-10, 160-pounder is considered the fifth-best player in the state of Florida in the 2027 class, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He earned his offer from the Irish on March 17 during their Pot of Gold Day recruiting event. On a talented and deep St. Thomas Aquinas squad last fall, Jones had 51 receptions for 750 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games. The legacy recruit has several offers from major programs, including Miami, LSU, Ohio State, Florida, Penn State, Florida State and Oklahoma. One of Notre Dame football top 2027 targets wins Rivals Camp defensive back MVP honors

One of Notre Dame football top 2027 targets wins Rivals Camp defensive back MVP honors Notre Dame football is on a great run in the 2026 recruiting class, and the momentum they are building is bleeding into the 2027 cycle as well. One of the Irish's top cornerback targets, Texas' Jerry Outhouse Jr., took home the Dallas Rivals Camp defensive back MVP honors over the weekend. The 6-foot, and 175-pound defender is already nationally ranked, checking in as the No. 73 overall player in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. He was one of many 2027 prospect to receive a scholarship on 'Pot of Gold Day,' showing him that Notre Dame is extremely interested in having him on campus for three-to-five years. The Irish are building momentum in his home state, as on Saturday they received a commitment from 2026 running back Javian Osborne. It won't be an easy recruiting battle to win, as Rivals points out that he's also high on Texas A&M, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. Regardless of who is the competition, Notre Dame is riding high on the recruiting trail and should continue to use its momentum to its advantage.

2027 four-star RB and Penn State commit Kemon Spell shuts down recruitment

Kemon Spell Class of 2027 four-star running back and Penn State commit Kemon Spell is shutting his recruitment down. He believes PSU is the best program for his future and he will not be considering any other schools moving forward. Advertisement Spell, out McKeesport Area High School, is a top-75 prospect nationally, checking in at No. 74 in the Rivals250. He also ranks as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania and the No. 5 running back in the 2027 cycle. While back in Happy Valley for a visit with Penn State on Saturday, Spell sat down with head coach James Franklin, offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, running backs coach Stan Drayton, assistant running backs coach Charles Walker and other Penn State staff members. Following those conversations, Spell came to the conclusion that he is locked in with the Nittany Lions. "My talk with Coach Franklin was awesome," Spell told "He sat down with me and my parents and talked about the love he has for me and my family, and how I will be treated just like his (own) kids." Perhaps the biggest threat to the Nittany Lions in Spell's recruitment was Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish recently offered Spell on "Pot of Gold Day" on March 17, but his relationship with recently-hired Notre Dame associate head coach/running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider made that pursuit something to keep an eye on. Advertisement Seider was the assistant head coach/co-offensive coordinator/running backs coach for the Nittany Lions when Spell committed to Penn State back in August of 2024. Spell shares a special bond with Seider. However, Spell remains committed to Penn State and plans to keep that pledge all the way until it is time for the 2027 prospect to sign with the school. In addition to his strong connection with Franklin, one big reason why he is deciding to shut down his recruitment this early in the process is because of his growing relationship with Drayton. "Me and Coach Drayton's relationship has gotten stronger and stronger the more we talk, the more we go over things," Spell said. "I saw something special in (Coach Drayton) in my eyes. I want him coaching me." Advertisement Spell's tight bond with Walker is also a big reason why Spell is eager to become a Nittany Lion in the near future. "Coach Charles Walker, I love him," Spell said. "He shows so much affection toward me and my family. This is really the best group (of coaches) in the country." During the visit, Spell spent quality time with many of the coaches and was reminded why he chose the Nittany Lions in the first place — Penn State is home to him. "On my visit today, (I felt like) it is something like home," Spell explained. "That's where I'm meant to be and where I was born to play. The coaches, they all love me. I got to sit down and have a few conversations with the offensive coordinator (Andy Kotelnicki). I love his energy, and he loves me and wants to get to know me more." Advertisement Spell is not the only Penn State running back commit to announce on Saturday that he is shutting his recruitment down. Class of 2026 four-star running back Messiah Mickens also announced that he is locked in with the Nittany Lions and is no longer entertaining other programs. On a big Saturday for the Nittany Lions, Penn State also landed a commitment from in-state, four-star linebacker and Rivals250 prospect Khalil Taylor. PSU now has three total commits in the 2027 class with Spell, Taylor and four-star offensive tackle Layton von Brandt. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH PENN STATE FANS AT
