Let's know more about the scheme. What Is Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana? Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana is basically an accident insurance scheme which offers accidental death and disability cover on account of an accident. The aim of the scheme is to provide financial strength to economically weaker families. The premium under PMSBY is only Rs. 20 per year. Under this scheme, you can also deposit a premium of Rs. 2 every month. Under this scheme, this amount is deducted from your Aadhaar linked bank account every year. Advertisement === Key Features Of PMSBY If the insured person becomes completely disabled in an accident, then he is eligible to get Rs 2 lakh. In case of a partial accident, Rs 1 lakh is given under the scheme. Advertisement === The insurance can be renewed every year. If the policyholder dies, then this money is given to the family. Who Can Avail The Benefit? People between the ages of 18 to 70 can avail themselves of the benefits of the scheme. Notably, this policy ends automatically on completion of the age of 70 years. Only Indian citizens are eligible for the security insurance scheme. The applicant must have an active bank account in any bank, which is linked to Aadhaar. If your bank account is closed then this policy will also end. The policy cover period is between 1st June to 31st May. What Is The Process Of Applying? To apply for this insurance program, apply at your bank. The bank will provide an application form which, once completed and submitted with the required documents, will initiate the process.

Uttarakhand CM directs officials to simplify loan processes to ensure maximum benefits of schemes
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India] July 11 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to simplify loan processes under various central and state government schemes to ensure maximum benefits reach the people. During a special meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee at the Secretariat on Friday, CM Dhami emphasised that solving public problems should be the top priority. The Chief Minister also highlighted the need to streamline insurance claim processes in agricultural insurance schemes and increase the credit-deposit ratio in districts. The Chief Minister said that more efforts should be made to increase the credit deposit ratio of the state. In the financial year 2024-25, the credit deposit ratio of the state has increased from 54 per cent to 54.26 per cent. The Chief Minister said that more effective efforts should be made to take it to 60 per cent. Special attention should be given to increase the credit deposit ratio in the hilly districts of the state, especially Tehri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Almora, Pauri and Bageshwar districts. The Chief Minister said that in order to ensure that people get the benefits of public welfare schemes at one place on the same day, a large scale camp should be organized in all the districts in October, in which all the departments and bankers sit together and solve the public problems and benefit them from various schemes. It was informed in the meeting that under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana in Uttarakhand, 48 thousand persons per lakh have received insurance coverage, which is more than the national average of 40 thousand. Under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, the average loan amount disbursed to per borrower in the state is Rs 93,900, which is much higher than the national average of 62,686. Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana, 39 lakh accounts have been opened in the state so far, this figure is the highest among the hill states. In the financial year 2024-25, there was an increase of 10.26 per cent in advances and 9.09 per cent in deposits in the state. There has been consistent good progress in the last three years under the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Scheme and the Chief Minister Swarojgar Yojana of the state government. A total of 06 lakh 10 thousand 636 farmers of the state have availed the KCC facility, out of which 67 per cent are small and marginal farmers. 70.23 per cent of the self-help groups in the state have credit linkage. In the last three years, the number of SHGs has increased by 21 per cent. (ANI)

Claim amount under PMSBY and PMJJBY distributed
Kurnool: In a significant initiative to support the families of policyholders, the claim amounts under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) were distributed to the beneficiaries at a programme at Union Bank of India near new RTC bus stand here on Wednesday. Regional Head P Narasimha Rao and Branch Manager R Rajani handed over the claim cheques to the families of the insured individuals -K Paramesh and Geetha Mahalakshmi. P Narasimha Rao emphasised the importance of such social security schemes and assured continued support to all eligible policyholders and their families.

Bhupendra Patel launches Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan in Gandhinagar
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan in Gandhinagar on Monday (June 30, 2025). Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai was present at the event. The campaign will be held across the country from July 1 to September 30. It aims to identify eligible citizens who have not yet received benefits under government welfare schemes and to deliver those benefits to them. The schemes covered include Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, and Jan Dhan Yojana. The campaign also includes updating KYC for Jan Dhan accounts, opening new accounts and creating awareness about digital fraud. At the event, the Chief Minister gave cheques of ₹2 lakh each to three beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and handed over a Jan Dhan passbook to one account holder. He said that it is the responsibility of officials to ensure that the benefits of these schemes reach those who are eligible. He also said that the State must contribute to the larger goal of achieving complete coverage under these schemes. District collectors, development officers, officials from urban bodies, and banks have been asked to prepare district-level action plans to meet the targets set under the campaign. Finance Department Principal Secretary T. Natarajan gave a brief on the campaign's structure and current figures. He said 1.93 crore Jan Dhan accounts have been opened in Gujarat, with ₹21,409 crore transferred through Direct Benefit Transfers. He said around 90 lakh people are covered under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and 1.92 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. District officials, bankers and villagers from Pundrasan joined the event through video conference. Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avantika Singh, Secretary (Economic Affairs) Arti Kanwar, CM's Secretary Dr. Vikrant Pandey, and Bank of Baroda officials were also present.

Gujarat: CM launches Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan from Gandhinagar
Gandhinagar (Gujarat)[India], July 1 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while launching the statewide Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan on Tuesday, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently placed the common citizen at the heart of all welfare initiatives. According to the Gujarat CMO, the government is committed to ensuring that no eligible individual is left out of the benefits of social security schemes under the Prime Minister's leadership. Patel further stressed that the administration is actively identifying and reaching out to underserved beneficiaries at their doorsteps to extend the full range of socio-economic entitlements. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's citizen-welfare-oriented approach, Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan, which commenced nationwide, was launched by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel from Gandhinagar, in the presence of Finance Minister Shri Kanubhai Desai. Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan, which will run from July 1 to September 30, aims to ensure that all eligible citizens receive the benefits of key social security schemes, promoting a safe and dignified life. At the launch event, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel distributed Rs 2 lakh cheques to three beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and handed over a Jan Dhan Yojana passbook to another beneficiary. He stated that it is the state's social responsibility to make sure the benefits of the government's welfare schemes reach the underprivileged who remain deprived. He further emphasised the need to contribute to the socio-economic upliftment of such individuals and to bring the last person in the line into the mainstream of development, describing it as a noble opportunity to serve and uplift. CM Patel urged everyone to help fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a Viksit Bharat by ensuring that welfare benefits reach the needy and the last person, contributing to a Viksit Gujarat. The Chief Minister directed district collectors, DDOs, urban authorities, and bank officials to prepare district action plans to achieve the saturation targets of welfare schemes under Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan. The Finance Department's Principal Secretary, T Natarajan, outlined the campaign's objective and shared key data on financial inclusion schemes in Gujarat. He stated that the campaign would cover schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, KYC updates for Jan Dhan accounts, opening new accounts for non-financially active adults, and raising awareness about digital fraud prevention. He informed that Gujarat has opened 1.93 crore Jan Dhan accounts, through which Rs 21,409 crore in DBT benefits have been transferred. Around 90 lakh beneficiaries are covered under PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and 1.92 crore under PM Suraksha Bima Yojana.
