Gauri Shelgaonkar to play lead in new show Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani, says 'I had been waiting for such an opportunity'
Actress Gauri Shelgaonkar is all set to make a powerful comeback as the lead in the upcoming show Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani. In a newly released promo, she's introduced as Ghevar—a character layered with mystery, emotion, and strength.
The promo, set against the golden backdrop of a desert at dusk, shows Ghevar running across the sands. She falls to her knees upon spotting a half-buried photo frame and wipes it clean with trembling hands. Suddenly, a baby's cry pierces the silence, and she lifts the child into her arms, her face awash with emotion. The promo raises more questions than it answers—who is the baby, and what is Ghevar's connection to it? The haunting visuals and stirring background score promise a gripping story.
Sharing her excitement about the role, Gauri said, 'I'm really happy and excited to play the role of Ghevar. When I first heard my character's name, I found it so interesting because Ghevar is the name of a famous sweet, and I feel the name matches her nature too.'
She continued, 'Our show is set in Rajasthan, and as soon as I heard the storyline, I got even more excited thinking about wearing beautiful Rajasthani outfits and jewellery."
