IIM Calcutta rape survivor skips court appearance for statement
Kolkata: A young woman, who was allegedly raped at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta boys' hostel on Friday, reportedly did not appear to record her confidential statement on Monday in front of the judicial magistrate.
Police sources said that the victim and her family members are allegedly not cooperating with the investigation. The victim did not undergo a medical test earlier on Saturday, police sources said.
A nine-member SIT has been formed by Kolkata Police on Sunday to probe the alleged rape inside IIM-Calcutta campus and CCTV footages have been sought from the institute, people in the know said.

A young woman has allegedly been raped in the students' hostel of premier management Institute, Indian Institute of Management –Calcutta (IIM-C) at Joka in Kolkata on Friday evening. The arrested accused Premanand Mahaveer Toppannavar @Parmanand Jain (26) is from Karnataka and he was a second year student of IIM-C. He was produced in a Kolkata court yesterday afternoon and remanded to police custody.
