Dianne Buswell wants to have children with Joe Sugg ‘when the time is right'
Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has revealed she wants to have children with her partner Joe Sugg when the time is right and 'everything aligns'. The dancer, 36, met YouTube star Sugg when they were partnered together on the BBC One dancing show in 2018. Advertisement She told Prima magazine: 'When Joe and I met, it wasn't until the show ended that we realised we missed each other's company a lot – our relationship went from there. We always got on, he was so funny to me, and I loved how creative he was. 'We've always wanted kids, it's just finding the right time. I don't feel worried about taking time out from dancing, I just don't see the point in worrying. Dianne Buswell on the September cover of Prima UK (Prima UK/David Venni) 'When everything aligns, it will happen. I have to have that vision. I like to practise manifestation, I'm quite spiritual.' Reflecting on life in the public eye, she said: 'Joe and I forget we're famous sometimes – when we're out and about, we'll be like, 'Why are they looking at us? Ah, okay, I remember'. Advertisement 'It doesn't feel that difficult to have a relationship in the public eye – we're good at not taking notice of things that are written about us. 'Sometimes, though, people are obsessed with wanting to find out things, such as where we live, so it can be hard in terms of privacy.' Buswell also reflected on what it was like to win Strictly in 2024 alongside her celebrity dance partner, Chris McCausland, who became the first blind person to compete on the series. 'He had to trust me 100%, I had to trust him 100% and so it was a really strong bond from the word go', she said. Advertisement 'I taught him a lot, but he taught me just as much. I've always loved comedy and had a niche for comedic timing but being a dancer, we don't talk, we dance. Chris has allowed me to be more of the character that I naturally am.' During the series, the couple performed a viral 'blackout' dance which saw comedian McCausland place his hands over Buswell's eyes as the room faded to black, mimicking his everyday experience. When the lights returned, the 48-year-old was spinning around with Buswell on his shoulders as pyrotechnics flared in the background.
