Cheapskate shocks woman with $250 bill for ‘dating expenses' — broken down on an Excel spreadsheet

Falling in love can come at a high cost, nowadays — especially if you're dating a penny-pincher with access to Microsoft Office. Nickeling and diming, wining and dining. While the acts seem to be mutually exclusive, a frugal fella proved he can be both a cheapo and a wannabe Prince Charming, creating a comprehensive Excel spreadsheet and demanding his inamorata repay him nearly $300 for their romantic outings. And now, she's wondering if his money moves are a 'huge red flag.' 'He's been pursuing me, then sent me a spreadsheet asking to be reimbursed for our dates?? Am I overreacting?,' a 23-year-old woman asked Reddit of her 32-year-old miserly man. Splitting the check on dates has become a hot-button issue online in recent months. While some ladies remain adamant that it's the dude's duty to cover all costs, a select few sirens don't mind going Dutch (kinda). But this Redditor is hopelessly on the fence about pursuing a romance with a skinflint. The troubled twosome, from Florida, has been an item for 'a little over a month now,' spending quality time together 'at least [four] times a week,' the Gen Z gal explained. 'He was very persistent in pursuing me,' she added, 'constantly texting, making plans, asking me to go on runs, bike rides, beach days, and inviting me to dinner, bars and even paying for Ubers to and from his place.' Much to her chagrin, however, the sweet treats were no cheap thrills — and she learned that the hard way, when he stuck her with the bill. 'Hate to ask but can [you] Venmo or Zelle me some [money] for the last few weeks?' read the guy's payback ask, per a screenshot of the text message, accompanied by a snapshot of his spreadsheet. The detailed document included dates and purchases, such as cigarettes procured on June 28, a $50 bar tab, and an $89 restaurant fee. The tight-fisted Romeo offered his would-be Juliette a to-the-penny breakdown of exactly how much dough he shelled out on each occasion. For her share of the fun, the unsuspecting sweetheart's grand total came to a staggering $249.31. 'I know [you] got me some stuff which I'm appreciative of, and definitely happy to cover most things like our date night and drinks and stuff,' continued the Scrooge via text. 'But [you] never paid me for the first round of stuff from a few weeks ago, and money [is] a little tight for me and a source of stress [right now with] working two jobs, etc.' Cutting her a bit of a break, the money-grubber agreed to let his paramour pay only $100 of the $249. But, after she sent the funds, he requested an additional $90 for a small debt she owed his buddy. And, unsurprisingly, the shakedown left the Gen Zer feeling let down. 'I truly can't believe it,' she whined on Reddit, claiming that prior to pressuring her for a repayment, her love interest was a chivalrous dreamboat — he'd even waited patiently for their first kiss. But the itemized charges felt like a kiss-off. 'It felt transactional and weirdly formal, especially since he was the one initiating nearly all the plans,' said the disillusioned darling. 'What's even more confusing,' she added, 'after sending this, he still insists on seeing me and continuing to date. Like, you want to invoice me and kiss me?' 'I've picked up the tab quite a few times [on] dinner, drinks, etc., without making a thing of it,' she ranted. 'I've never asked him to pay me back or keep score. I thought we were just getting to know each other and splitting things organically, like adults, especially since he's about 10 years older than I am.' 'So,' she questioned in conclusion, 'am I overreacting or under-reacting…[is this] a huge red flag?.' And social media is shaking its head, 'Yes.' 'Sending you a spreadsheet is giving American Psycho,' warned a commenter. 'RUN.' 'Relationships shouldn't feel like a business transaction with spreadsheets and invoices. Fairness and trust go a long way without all the drama,' another agreed. 'This guy is a giant cluster of red flags waving around,' an equally stunned spectator wrote. 'A 32-year-old man who cannot keep his own expenses and budget in check, especially working two jobs, has other major issues going on.'

Love Island star shares off-camera moment he first told wife he loved her

EXCLUSIVE: Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland were the runner-up couple in the second ever series of Love Island. Now they are still happily married with a kid and one on the way Love Island star Alex Bowen has revealed the unexpected moment he first told Olivia Bowen - then Buckland - he loved her, and as it turns out it actually happened in the villa, just moments before they were about to go live for the 2016 series finale. In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, the ITV alum shared: "On the day of the final before we went live, I said to Liv that I loved her, but I didn't mean to say it, and I wasn't on camera. But then it was literally about — I think they were counting down like 10, 9, 8, ready to go live, and I said oh it's fine, like I love you, and then she never heard me say it. ‌ "And I was kind of like, oh my God, I just said I love you, and then that was the first time I was kind of like, oh, I'm in this. That was probably like my fondest memory from it all, to be honest." ‌ However, he cheekily admitted that he didn't tell her he dropped the L bomb until she told him she loved him two weeks later. After that he came clean, saying that he thinks it would have been mean not to. Since their time on Love Island, Alex and Olivia's relationship has blossomed into one of Love Island's biggest success stories. The couple married in 2018 and are now expecting their second child together. They already share a son called Abel, who was born in 2022. ‌ While Alex ended up getting his fairytale ending, he did admit that for a while after being featured on the ITV dating show, he felt an internal pressure to keep up the image of himself that audiences got to know. He acknowledged that Love Island producers have limited one-hour television slots to fill, and believes that because of this, they didn't have the time to showcase certain aspects of his personality. He shared: "They only showed like certain sides of me on the show, like the Prince Charming or the bombshell that comes in that kind of messes things up. They never really showed other sides to me. So I felt like for a few years after I kind of played up to it a little bit. ‌ "I used to care about what I wore to events or how I looked, or I need to say certain things and now I just don't really care. I'll kind of say what I want, wear what I want, like I don't know. I feel like it's the art of like not caring really." Alex went on to elaborate on some of the moments were not aired, explaining: "So obviously they used to show me and Olivia chatting all the time, or the drama that happened. But I remember me and Nathan, when people were having chats, we were throwing fruit at people and just messing around, being stupid. ‌ "And they never really showed any of the funny side of it. I feel like that side of my personality kind of got lost, but obviously we did like a show after that, me and Liv did. It's a 66 part series that was on like a different channel, but I could kind of be myself more then and people were messaging saying like I didn't realize you were like this." He was keen to make it clear that the same goes for contestants who are on Love Island this year, adding: "Now when people judge people on there, like they're only seeing certain aspects of their personality." Reality TV aside, Alex and Olivia are now focused on creating a happy life for their growing family. They shared the news of baby number two on social media in a sweet video where Olivia showed Alex the positive pregnancy test. Later on the whole family got together around the Christmas tree in matching jumpers to hold up snaps of the baby scans. Alex previously spoken about how he and Olivia keep their relationship strong after all these years, saying: "You've just got to try and pretend you're still getting to know each other. Even if it's just watching a movie together, it's about making time for yourselves."

And I do believe at times, happiness is absolutely a choice, and every day I wake up, and I think I'm very lucky to live the life I live," she further added. The 'West Side Story' actor has also been vocal about the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. It's the way I was raised."advertisementWhen asked if her political remarks bring professional consequences, she said, "There are obviously things that are at stake by being outspoken, but nothing is worth innocent lives. My heart doesn't have a fence around it, and if that is considered my downfall? There are worse things."Rachel Zegler received mixed reactions upon being cast as Snow White back in 2021.
