Gisele Fetterman lambasts 'terrible' media, says journalists bombarded her when husband was sick
The wife of Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., slammed the media for invading her family's privacy in a new podcast interview, saying the industry was rewarded for acting terribly. "My husband is a public figure, but I am a private citizen and journalists don't seem to really care," Gisele Fetterman told Meghan McCain in an upcoming episode of her podcast, "Citizen McCain." Gisele Fetterman explained how her house was surrounded by media trucks after her husband checked himself into Walter Reed Medical Center for depression weeks after he was sworn into the U.S. Senate in 2023. "They knew John wasn't there. They were looking for me, and I was in the car," she told McCain. "I went into the garage, but they were surrounding literally the whole outside [of] my house. National, local, and, you know, I am a private citizen." Democrat John Fetterman Declares Support For Ice, Condemning Any Calls For Abolition As 'Outrageous' Gisele Fetterman said she wished she could protect her children from public scrutiny but admitted that she wouldn't stop them from reading the reports about their father if they wanted to. Read On The Fox News App John Fetterman's health was a focal point during his Senate campaign for Pennsylvania after he suffered a stroke in May 2022. Though he won the race, the scrutiny over his health continued after he checked himself into Walter Reed to be treated for depression after taking office. He has been open in the years since about his cognitive and mental health struggles. McCain shared with Fetterman that the media coverage during her father John McCain's battle with brain cancer intensified the situation and made it "one of the worst times in my entire life." He died in 2018. McCain asked Fetterman if she felt the press had "learned any lessons" about treating people dealing with health issues with "kindness and compassion." Fetterman Lashes Out At 'Hit Piece' After Confrontation With Reporter About His Health "No," Fetterman responded. "Definitely not." She argued that the media profited from these stories so they were incentivized to report on personal matters. "I think they're rewarded by clicks and how many people read the article," she argued. "I think it's rewarded, so the goal is to be more and more terrible." Since taking office in 2023, John Fetterman has drawn criticism from progressives within his own party over his staunch support for Israel, immigration enforcement and occasional defense of President Donald Trump. Liberals Who Rallied Behind Fetterman Post-stroke In 2022 Turn On Pro-israel Senator After Ny Magazine Report Ahead of Trump's second inauguration, Fetterman faced backlash for meeting with the then-president-elect at Mar-a-Lago. He called Trump "kind" and "cordial" during an appearance on "The View," and said his New York criminal trial was "politically motivated." Reports have emerged from Fetterman's staffers describing erratic behavior behind the scenes since he took office. A New York Magazine article in May also revealed alleged tensions between Fetterman and his wife over his backing of Israel and its war in Gaza, and the senator dismissed the story as a "hit piece." In the wide-ranging "Citizen McCain" interview airing Wednesday at noon ET on 2WAY's "Citizen McCain," Gisele Fetterman also revealed she had no interest in running for political office and confessed she wouldn't be supportive of her husband running for president. The suspect accused of injuring over a dozen people after throwing Molotov cocktails into a crowd of peaceful pro-Israel demonstrators last weekend appeared in federal court in Denver Friday to face a federal hate crime charge. Along with a federal hate crime charge, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, faces additional charges in Colorado, including attempted murder. Soliman allegedly crafted 18 Molotov cocktails before driving to Boulder June 1 and prepared for the peaceful pro-Israel demonstrators to arrive for the "Run For Their Lives," in support of the Israeli hostages. Soliman is accused of throwing two incendiary devices at the crowd. Soliman entered a courtroom Friday wearing a green jumpsuit and handcuffs. Boulder Suspect Spent A Year Planning Molotov Cocktail Attack On Pro-israel March: Docs While waiting for the hearing to start, Soliman silently rocked in his chair and looked around the room but away from the audience. Read On The Fox News App It began with Soliman being asked if he had read the complaint filed against him. After confirming that he had, Soliman was read his rights, and he asked for a court-appointed attorney. The court determined Soliman qualified for a court-appointed attorney. Mohamed Soliman Allegedly Planned Molotov Cocktail Attack After Gun Purchase Denial: Docs Prosecutor Melissa Hindman requested that Soliman be detained, and the defendant did not contest that request. Magistrate Judge Kathryn A. Starnella ordered Soliman be detained and set the next court date for 10 a.m. June 18. Victims and witnesses observed Soliman throw what appeared to be a glass bottle, which burst upon impact, creating large flames, an affidavit said. He also allegedly used a commercial weed sprayer as a "makeshift blowtorch." According to the affidavit, authorities discovered multiple glass bottles containing liquid, a lighter, rags, an insecticide sprayer and an AR-style rifle BB gun in Soliman's 2015 silver Toyota Prius. Boulder Terror Attack Witness Describes 'Horrific' Scene At Pro-israel Rally Authorities also found a Quran and paperwork with the words "Israel," "Palestine" and "USAID." In his interview with law enforcement, Soliman said he had no remorse for his actions and reiterated his intent to carry them out again if given the opportunity. The affidavit noted that Soliman left behind an iPhone and a journal at his Colorado Springs home, detailing his motivations and preparations for the attack. Facing a litany of charges, including multiple counts of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and possession of incendiary devices, Soliman had initially been held on $10 million bond. If convicted, and his sentences are ordered to run consecutively, he could face a maximum of 384 years in state prison for those charges alone. Soliman was also charged with two counts of use of an incendiary device, which could add up to 48 years if served consecutively. Boulder GOP chair slams 'tolerant' policies enabling terror after Molotov attack
Following a recent terror attack in the heart of Boulder, Colorado, the county's GOP chair said local and state officials who enacted policies protecting individuals in the U.S. illegally are trading the law for tolerance. Illegal Egyptian national Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, was arrested Sunday after allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails into a crowd of peaceful pro-Israel demonstrators near the Boulder County courthouse while yelling, "Free Palestine." Authorities said eight people suffered burn injuries, and a total of 12 people were injured in the attack, which happened on the eve of Shavuot. Boulder Terror Attack Witness Describes 'Horrific' Scene At Pro-israel Rally "I find it interesting that with all of the things that have happened in Boulder, the one thing that's drawing out the most press and getting the most news is antisemitism," Boulder County Republicans Chairman Peg Cage told Fox News Digital. "Antisemitism is a big deal right now, and that person was guilty of that, and he admitted it himself. But if you look at what he did, it was when he was done with the United States." Immigration authorities confirmed Soliman overstayed his non-immigrant visa, which was granted during the Biden administration. Read On The Fox News App WATCH: Boulder suspect throws incendiary device at pro-Israel supporters Boulder Suspect Spent A Year Planning Molotov Cocktail Attack On Pro-israel March: Docs He allegedly flew into Los Angeles International Airport on Aug. 27, 2022 with orders to return home by Feb. 26, 2023. However, he never left, filing a claim with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services just one month after his arrival in the country. On March 29, 2023, Soliman was granted work authorization, which was valid through March of this year. "I mean, he waited until his daughter had graduated, and he had nothing to lose," Cage said. "He was here illegally, and then he committed the crime." The attack took place near an event held by "Run for Their Lives," a worldwide grassroots organization that advocates for the release of Israeli hostages held since Oct. 7, 2023. The local Run for Their Lives chapter gathers in Boulder weekly. Soliman, who authorities claim drove an hour to commit the act of terror, allegedly said after the attack "he would do it…again." Boulder Terror Attack Suspect Said He Wanted To Kill 'All Zionist People,' Used Molotov Cocktails: Feds "Frankly, if he hadn't been in the heart of Boulder, somebody probably would have shot him, because we're that way here," Cage said. "The reactions that I'm seeing, it rather confirms the America-first agenda of our president and of our Republican Party. … I think [crimes involving illegal immigrants are] just becoming more pronounced, and it's making us side more with our side." Pointing to policies enacted by local and state officials, she questioned the disregard for immigration law in the name of tolerance. "Basically, this wasn't a surprise as much [as], it's just like, thank God nobody got killed, and dang, why didn't somebody get him out of here when he first overstayed his visa," Cage said. "Why aren't we following our laws. … They're too tolerant, and they think it's a good thing." She added that contradictions to President Donald Trump's directives are plainly visible on the Boulder County website and in public settings. "If you go on to the Boulder County website, it's basically how to stay here if you're illegal," Cage said. "We had this Cinco de Mayo event, and the booth next to ours was how to avoid [Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and] how to report an upcoming ICE event that you might know about. … So, no, I'm not surprised. I'm disgusted. It needs to stop, and it makes that come clearer into focus." Timeline exposes Boulder suspect's movements before allegedly carrying out firebomb attack on pro-Israel group
Officials allege Mohamed Sabry Soliman targeted a peaceful pro-Israel protest on Sunday in what is being described as a terror attack that left 12 people injured. Soliman's journey to the United States began in August 2022 when he arrived in the country on a B1/B2 visa and was supposed to leave in February 2023, but the Biden administration gave him work authorization through March 2025, two months before he was accused of injuring 12 people at a pro-Israel peaceful protest in Boulder, Colorado. Soliman allegedly told federal and local law enforcement officials that he targeted a "Zionist group" that gathered in Boulder because he wanted to stop them from taking over "our land," which he said is "Palestine." Soliman allegedly told law enforcement that he had been planning the attack for a year, waiting until after his daughter graduated to carry it out. Here's a timeline of Soliman's journey to the United States: Boulder Terror Attack Suspect Showed Signs Of Growing 'Lone-wolf' Radicalization, Says Former Fbi Supervisor Soliman flew into Los Angeles International Airport on a B1/B2 non-immigrant visa on Aug. 27, 2022, sources told Fox News. Read On The Fox News App Sources told Fox News that Soliman made some kind of claim through United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, which was possibly for asylum. Sources told Fox News that Soliman's B1/B2 visa was set to expire on Feb. 26, 2023, but he didn't leave the country. Boulder Suspect Spent A Year Planning Molotov Cocktail Attack On Pro-israel March: Docs United States Citizenship and Immigration Services gave Soliman work authorization on March 29, 2023, which was valid for around two years, sources said. Soliman began driving for Uber in the spring of 2023, a spokesperson for the company told Fox News Digital. Uber said Soliman met all requirements to drive for the company, which include passing a criminal and driving history background check, holding a valid Social Security number and providing a photo ID. One of Soliman's neighbors told Fox News Digital that Soliman was "not home that often" because he was "working really hard." A Veros health spokesperson told Fox News Digital that Soliman began working at the company in its accounting department. "He was hired in our accounting department. He went through a hiring process with ADP, our employer [Professional Employer Organization]. At the time of hire, he was confirmed to have a valid work visa, which was noted to expire in March 2025," the spokesperson said. Soliman's employment with Veros Health ended in August 2023, according to a company spokesperson. "We can confirm that Mohamed Soliman worked with Veros from May 2023 to August 2023," the spokesperson said. Soliman's work authorization ended in March 2025 after it was granted under the Biden administration in March 2023, sources said. Soliman was accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at the pro-Israel group "Run for Their Lives" as they were protesting for the release of Hamas' hostages. Twelve people were injured. Soliman was charged with first-degree murder, crimes against at-risk adults/elderly; first-degree assault, criminal attempt to commit class one and class two felonies, and use of explosives or incendiary devices during a felony. Former FBI special agent Jonathan Gilliam told Fox News Digital he's concerned the Biden administration didn't do a good enough job at vetting Soliman when he first came to the United States. "When we look at the border and how open the border was for over four years, literally wide open," Gilliam said. "The problem with individuals like this guy…is that they are presenting themselves as activists. They're presenting themselves as altruistic and acting out for a cause for the greater good." Gilliam said it's likely Soliman has harbored "hatred" for a period of time, but chose to act out on it now. "He came from an area where the hate is taught his entire life, of America, of Israel," Gilliam said. "He planned the event for a year, but he already had the hatred inside of him. So you're just seeing them act out on something that is already inside of them." Boulder illegal immigrant terror suspect worked in healthcare field, as rideshare driver before attack
The Egyptian national suspected of injuring 12 people in a firebombing during a pro-Israel rally in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday worked in the healthcare industry and as a rideshare driver before committing the heinous act. Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, first came to the United States on a non-immigrant visa in August 2022. When that visa expired in February 2023, he remained in the country. The following month, he was granted a work visa, which was valid through March of this year.
