MCD organises over 1,800 property tax camps to promote amnesty scheme
New Delhi: MCD has organised 1,862 property tax camps across its 12 zones to assist property owners in filing their taxes and availing benefits under the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme launched in May.
According to MCD officials, over 48,546 taxpayers have benefitted from these camps to date. The civic body plans to hold more such camps in the coming days to further extend the benefits of the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2025-26 and the Sumpattikar Niptaan Yojana (SUNIYO). Taxpayers or RWAs can approach their zonal offices to request a camp in their area. "We have successfully organised more than 1,800 tax camps, with active participation from citizens," said MCD, adding, "Under the SUNIYO scheme, taxpayers can avail a complete waiver of property tax, interest, and penalties for dues prior to the financial year 2020-21, provided they pay the principal property tax for the current year (2025-26) and the previous five financial years (FY 2020-21 to FY 2024-25) without interest or penalties." tnn
