MCE Extends Greetings on Hijri New Year, Reflects on Values of Prophetic Migration
Mohamed Mandour The Muslim Council of Elders extended warm congratulations to the Arab and Islamic nations on the advent of the Hijri New Year, marking 1447 years since the noble Prophetic migration. Chaired by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, the Council commemorated the occasion by highlighting the enduring values embodied in the Hijrah — including patience, sacrifice, coexistence, and trust in God. Pilgrims leave Arafat for Muzdalifah to continue sacred journey
Fulfillment of the greatest pillar of Hajj The departure followed a deeply spiritual moment, as pilgrims were blessed with the opportunity to stand on the plain of Arafat—fulfilling the most important pillar of the Hajj. Night in Muzdalifah according to Prophetic tradition Upon arriving in Muzdalifah, pilgrims perform both Maghrib and Isha prayers in congregation, in keeping with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). They spend the night there in preparation for the next stage of their journey. Heading to Mina for rituals After the Fajr prayer, pilgrims will proceed to Mina to perform the ritual of throwing pebbles at Jamarat Al-Aqaba and to offer their sacrificial animals, continuing the essential rites of Hajj. Smooth movement and unified efforts The movement from Arafat to Muzdalifah has been notably smooth and efficient, reflecting the tremendous coordination and efforts by various Hajj authorities. Their unified goal remains to ensure a tranquil and secure pilgrimage experience for all.

SCC discusses new ideas to improve family welfare
The Family Affairs Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) held a meeting in Sharjah on Tuesday to discuss new ideas and plans aimed at strengthening families in the community. This meeting was part of their ongoing efforts to support families and improve social welfare, in line with the goals set by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. The discussion included various members of the committee and was focused on important family-related topics. They expressed a strong commitment to visiting several organisations that work with women, children, and the elderly. These visits are meant to examine the services offered, recognise any challenges, and suggest solutions to enhance support for these groups. The committee also explored ideas to promote family unity and extend psychological and social support to different sections of society, including efforts to care for children, empower women, and assist senior citizens. Members noted that the meeting was part of their responsibility to address family issues and encourage community participation while reinforcing the values of solidarity and family strength. Saeed Matar Bin Hamed Al Tunaiji, Committee Chairman, highlighted the importance of collaborating with local government and community organisations in Sharjah, which play a key role in supporting families through various initiatives. He acknowledged the essential work done by institutions associated with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, which contribute to creating a nurturing environment for families and help raise generations capable of aiding community growth. Attendees reaffirmed the committee's commitment to family-centred policies that prioritise people's well-being, in line with the caring and social approach that has become a hallmark of Sharjah's leadership. Separately, as part of its ongoing awareness tours to promote its endowment project 'Prophet's Neighbours,' the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) visited the SCC to highlight the project's objectives and its role in supporting and empowering orphans through sustainable endowment resources. This meeting marks a key milestone in the Foundation's efforts to explain the project's details and mechanisms for participation through an interactive booth set up in public and private institutions across the UAE. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the project's value and areas of support, and to foster societal and institutional partnerships that ensure the charitable impact of the project remains sustainable. In this context, Mona Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Foundation, praised the collaboration with the Consultative Council, stating, 'The endowment project carries a noble humanitarian message. Through it, we seek to revive the Prophetic tradition of charitable endowment (waqf) and to empower a cherished group in our society by ensuring the sustainability of their support. This is achieved through a series of endowments whose returns directly benefit the care and empowerment programmes provided by the Foundation.' She added, 'Our presence here is part of our efforts to promote 'Prophet's Neighbours' across the UAE, starting from Sharjah. We aim to establish an endowment as a sustainable development tool that guarantees continued support for beneficiaries. 'We extend our gratitude to the Consultative Council for its generous hosting and constructive engagement with our message. This reflects societal awareness of the importance of support and meaningful participation, reinforcing solidarity and cooperation within the community and enhancing its unity.' Al Jarwan confirmed that the Consultative Council is committed to supporting initiatives that enhance social solidarity and promote collaboration between governmental and community institutions. He stated that this cooperation with the Foundation aligns with the Sharjah emirate's approach to nurturing and empowering individuals both materially and morally, in an environment that upholds their dignity and ensures their growth and integration. He added that the Council remains open to every developmental and humanitarian initiative that benefits society and aligns with the high directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which call for strengthening responsible community action and promoting endowment as a developmental tool to secure sustainability and goodness for future generations. The Foundation is adopting a promotional strategy involving field visits to introduce the project at various government and private entities and across national events. The goal is to convey the project's message to the widest possible segment of society and enhance community involvement in supporting orphans who lack parental care. It is worth noting that Prophet's Neighbours is an endowment initiative launched by the Foundation to empower its beneficiaries and ensure the sustainability of their support through charitable endowments.
