Cricket SA's Pholetsi Moseki honours the ‘true heroes' of Proteas cricket
Cricket SA's Pholetsi Moseki honoured community coaches and celebrated the Proteas' World Test Championship victory at the KFC mini cricket seminar in Polokwane, emphasising the importance of grassroots development and the game's origins. With Proteas stars like Rassie van der Dussen , Tumi Sekhukhune and Lizaad Williams in attendance, the seminar forms a vital cog in the development of cricket in the country. The aim of the event is to bring in all the coaches from all the regions of South Africa to co-ordinate its efforts on an annual basis. While much of the focus has been on the Proteas ' World Test Championship ( WTC ) victory, Cricket SA is also ensuring those gains are not lost with the hosting of the KFC mini cricket seminar in Polokwane. Celebrating Superheroes: Moseki Highlights the Impact of Community Coaches and the Proteas' WTC Victory 'This is to celebrate superheroes. You know it always humbles me coming here and seeing the amazing people that are really responsible for the lifeblood of our mass participation program,' said Moseki. 'It's really to celebrate them and basically just to give them that extra energy to continue doing this amazing work that they do at the community level.' 'In our pipeline program, the coaches interact with kids at a very young age. Normally, we always speak about the Proteas, but remember you don't have to be a Protea, not a lot of them would be Proteas, but it does create lifelong fans for the game. But also over and above that, create good citizens for the country that we desperately need.' As for the Proteas victory in the WTC final, Moseki said he knew such a significant achievement had been coming. 'I always knew that it was just around the corner, but I think it was quite important that we as a country finally get that monkey off our back. Springboks unveil stunning new jersey to celebrate 1995 World Cup triumph

Photo: Supplied SA Rugby and Nike revealed the new Springbok jersey on Tuesday, with new title sponsor FNB's logo emblazoned on the front. The new jersey has been well received by fans on social media, weeks after the Springboks' training kit came in for some criticism. The green and gold home jersey does away with the collar and features a zigzag design along the neckline to pay homage to the King Protea, South Africa's national flower and sporting emblem. Inside the collar are four stars that feature as a nod to the team's four Rugby World Cup victories, as well as #ForeverGreenForeverGold. The alternate jersey is all white with the Protea collar in traditional bottle green, while the playing range is supported by a training and off-field range for supporters.

The world champions have a new sponsor this season, with their first match of 2025 taking place in Cape Town on Saturday. The new-look Springbok playing jersey for the 2025 season has been unveiled. And, for hard-core Bok fans, apparel partner Nike have released a jersey commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Springboks winning the 1995 Rugby World Cup. The new-look Bok playing jersey. Also, one of the most noticeable elements of the new playing jersey are four stars that feature inside the collar, honouring the team's four World Cup victories — in 1995, 2007, 2019 and 2023.
