Luxury fashion brand expands to Durban ahead of Durban July
Premium fashion brand from Johannesburg, Lugar Couture is expanding its footprint to other provinces with the launch of a new store in Umhlanga Rocks, Durban, just days ahead of the annual Durban July festival.
With just a year in business, Lugar Couture has quickly carved out a niche in the luxury fashion market, attracting a high-profile clientele that includes corporate and public figures. The brand's growing reputation for elegance, exclusivity, and premium tailoring has driven its expansion into KwaZulu-Natal.
The new Umhlanga store will be officially launched on Sunday, June 29, at the Protea Fire & Ice Hotel. The opening of the new franchise coincides with the brand's first anniversary and will also serve as a celebration of its growth.
Ticket holders and invited guests will get a first look at the collection during an exclusive showcase at the Sunday event. The unveiling is expected to highlight Lugar's commitment to combining modern elegance with bold, empowering fashion expressions.
"Titanium Investment Group, Inc. is proud to be associated with Lugar Couture. Our mission is to create a bridge to the world's best style and quality offerings through Lugar, catering to a distinct niche clientele," said CEO Lloyd Buthelezi.
Despite the challenges of South Africa's retail environment and the economy as a whole over the past year, Lugar Couture has done quite well. The brand cites strategic market positioning and a commitment to bespoke craftsmanship as key to its success.
Lugar's expansion comes at a time when the fashion industry is abuzz with excitement around the Durban July, making it a timely move to cement its status among the country's fashion elite. The event's theme of power and elegance aligns with the brand's aesthetic philosophy: 'If one looks good, one feels good – and when one feels good, they do good.'
