Best pubs in the UK revealed – is your favourite boozer on the list?
THE best pubs in the UK have been revealed, check to see if your favourite boozer is on the list. The National Pub and Bar Award s has crowned its winner for Pub and Bar of the Year 2025. The awards, organised by the Pub and Bar magazine, celebrate the best venues in the UK based on a range of criteria including service, style of offer, marketing and customer journey. Almost 100 county winners were chosen from the shortlist. This was then followed by a grand final where regional winners and the National Pub and Bar of the Year were announced. The Bull in Charlbury, Chipping Norton 13 The Bull in Charlbury, Chipping Norton came out on top with the boozer being recognised for its"beautiful" pub garden and pints served at the bar. The boozer has received glowing reviews from punters who praised its "cozy" feel and "terrific" food. The Bull is an hour train ride from London Paddington and an eight minute walk from Charlbury station. The Tollemache Arms, Harrington 13 The Tollemache Arms, Harrington was crowned the best pub in the East Midlands for 2025. The boozer describes itself as a "17th century Quintessentially British Pub," offering both food and drinks to customers. Customers have praised its "incredible" Sunday lunch and staff. The popular boozer is just a 14 minute drive from Kettering town centre. Locals Heartbroken as Auchenmalg's Only Pub, The Cock Inn, Closes Down The Gunton Arms, Norwich 13 The Gunton Arms, Norwich has been voted the best pub in the East of England. The popular haunt is just an 10minute drive from the market town of North Walsham or an hour on public transport. The haunt was previously a country house hotel before being converted into a pub in 2009. The Red Lion & Sun, London The Red Lion & Sun in Highgate has been voted the best pub in London. The privately owned boozer boast two beer gardens, wood burning fire, daily changing menu and an extensive wine and whiskey list. The pub is just a 13minute walk from Highgate station in London. The Black Swan Inn, Seahouses 13 This scenic pub has been crowned the best in the North East and boasts scenic views of the North Sea and nearby Farne Islands. Food from its menu is sourced locally from fishermen and butchers in the Northumberland area. It describes itself as "upmarket" and "sophisticated" and recently undergone a half-a-million-pound renovation. The Bull's Head, Mobberley 13 The Bulls Head Inn has been voted the best boozer in the North West. It describes itself as "nostalgic" and boasts a large beer garden and seasonal food menu. Dundrum Inn, Newcastle, Northern Ireland 13 The Dundrum Inn, located in Newcastle, Northern Ireland has been voted the best in the region. The pub has existed for over 109 years and runs a host of fun events including a class on how to pour your own pint of Guinness. The Barrelman, Dundee 13 The Scottish pub is located right in the centre of Dundee and refers to itself as a "laid back" bar. Customers can expect a fun menu which includes a cheesecake of the day and fresh Scottish produce. Kenmuir Arms, Dumfries and Galloway The Kenmuir Arms, Dumfries and Galloway has been voted the best in South Scotland. As well as an extensive drinks menu, the pub boasts a daily changing specials board of pub classics. Each showcasing the best of local produce. The Beckford Arms, Tisbury 13 The Beckford Arms has been voted the best in the South West. It is located on the edge of a park land on the Fonthill Estate and serves traditional local ales alongside meat from local farms and fish landed daily on the Cornwall Coast. Britannia Inn, Swansea The Britannia Inn, Swansea has been voted the best in Wales. The pub is a family run business situated in the North Gower, with views over-looking the Loughor Estuary. Alongside drinks the pub serves locally sourced Gower Salt Marsh Lamb, asparagus, Selwyn's Seaweed, Swansea smoked salmon, and Gower Gold Ale. The Wildmoor Oak, Bromsgrove 13 The Wildmoor Oak, Bromsgrove has been voted the best in the West Midlands. Customers have raved about its "lovely interiors" and "gorgeous outdoor space". The pub is a 1 hour and 20 minute train ride from Birmingham city centre. Pinnacle Sports & Games, Leeds 13 Pinnacle Sports & Games, Leeds has been voted the best in Yorkshire and the Humber. As well as serving food and drinks, it also boasts pool tables and an iterative darts board. Better yet, it is just a five minute walk from the city's train station.

The National Pub and Bar Awards has shared its shortlist of boozers and restaurants in with the chance of claiming the prestigious title of Pub and Bar of the Year 2025. 1 The awards, organised by the Pub and Bar magazine, recognise the best venues in the UK based on a host of elements including service, style of offer, marketing and customer journey. Almost 100 county winners will be chosen from the shortlist before a grand final in June where regional winners then the grand title of National Pub and Bar of the Year will be announced. Among the nominees this year is The George in Castleton, a small pub nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Another is Beekies Neuk in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, a pub and restaurant serving local produce and large selection of whiskies, rums and gins. Also on the shortlist is the Black Bear Inn in Gwent, Wales, a rurally-situated inn with a rustic feel. Bogans, in Tyrone, Northern Ireland, is also nominated this year, known for welcoming punters of all ages. The Red Lion in Kettering features too - a traditional village pub serving locally-sourced food. to open 15 new pubs after toasting a surge in sales. The Sun exclusively revealed six locations set to pull up their shutters, and their opening dates. Boozers are opening on the Isle of Man, London, Warwickshire and Essex before the end of September. A further nine will open by July 2026. But it's not all good news for the pub chain, after boss Tim Martin warned it would have to hike the price of pints by 20p. It comes after the chain told The Sun in January it had raised the price of some of its drinks and meal deals by up to 30p.
