Speedy Dog Living Near Tracks Tries to Outrun Every Train That Passes
Speedy Dog Living Near Tracks Tries to Outrun Every Train That Passes originally appeared on PetHelpful. Pubity shared a video on TikTok at the beginning of July that has everybody in stitches. It features a dog named Saber who lives near some train tracks. Anytime a train passes, it becomes a challenge for Saber to beat it in a race the train isn't aware it's taking part in! The video is short, just about 8 seconds long, and shows Saber waiting intently for the arriving train to get closer. As soon as the train meets up with Saber, the race is on! Saber gave that train a run for its money! He was running as fast as he could and you could see the determination on his face. People left hundreds of comments about @Pubity's video, and some of them cracked us up. @Rizz Muffin pointed out, "The fact that he waits for wants a fair race! LOL!" @SouthSidePG was impressed, too, "Wow! Saber waited until the train was even with him before he started running. And still kept up!!" Another commenter agreed, "He even waited for the train to catch up and still showed you he can run as fast as a train!" Commenter @Gunt_Z wondered, "Does bro come back or just run forever?" @Luke25fss responded, "Saber's been reported missing for 3 days now. Some say he's still chasing the train." @Sir Oblivion joked, 'Tell him Greyhound is buses, not trains."Commenter @AK shared, "He's a Greyhound - they race and are built for that!" While we're not entirely sure that Saber is a Greyhound, he sure loves to run like they do! We all know Greyhounds are fast, but just how fast they are is mind blowing. Rover shared, "While there are many fast dogs in the world, the Greyhound is by far the fastest. Over a distance of 100 meters, male Greyhounds are capable of reaching speeds up to 45 miles per hour, while females can hit 41 MPH." "Greyhounds are so fast they leave even famously speedy dog breeds, like the Border Collie and the German Shepherd, in the dust. These powerful working pups achieve speeds closer to 30 mph. And while Greyhounds might be popularly known as sprinters rather than endurance runners, they can still sustain a speed of 35 mph for as much as seven miles." Wow! Watch: Elephant's unexpected act of kindness sparks praise online
At a time when most viral videos focus on comedy or controversy, one wildlife clip is getting attention for a different reason– a surprising act of kindness. A wild elephant was filmed helping a drowning gazelle, giving viewers a rare look at the gentle side of nature. The video was shared on Instagram by the platform Pubity and quickly went viral, gaining over two million views. Many people have called it a 'moment of empathy in the wild' and praised the elephant's unexpected act of compassion. The short video shows a gazelle, probably separated from its herd, stuck in water and trying hard to stay afloat. What happened next surprised many– a nearby elephant slowly walked over and gently tried to help the gazelle using its trunk, making a few careful attempts to reach it. Watch the viral video here: View this post on Instagram A post shared by ColorsTV (@colorstv) After a few tries, the elephant managed to lift the gazelle out of the water and carefully placed it on dry land. The gazelle quickly ran off, while the elephant quietly walked away, without waiting for any attention or praise. It was a brief moment, but one that left a lasting impact– a rare and touching act of kindness between two different species that moved many and drew widespread praise online. Social media users responded quickly, with many praising the elephant's calm and thoughtful actions. Several comments pointed out the emotional intelligence and sensitivity animals can show– qualities that are often overlooked or underestimated. One user wrote, 'I wish everyone understood how smart these animals really are and gave them the protection they so badly deserve.' Another said, 'Even the wild knows mercy. This is what real power looks like – protecting the vulnerable.' A third remarked, 'Inter-species kindness, meanwhile, humans can't be kind to their own kind.' The video, apart from gaining viral status, also sparked conversations about wildlife ethics, emotional awareness in animals, and the urgent need for stronger conservation efforts. In a separate incident that also drew attention this week, a video from Chhattisgarh showed a baby elephant being rescued after falling into a muddy pit. Forest department officials used a JCB machine to lift the calf to safety. What stood out in that video was the baby elephant's response after the rescue. Once freed, it slowly approached the machine and gently touched it with its trunk– a gesture that many interpreted as a sign of acknowledgment. This moment, too, resonated widely on social media, highlighting the emotional intelligence elephants are known for.

In love with the shape of you: A culinary tribute
Potatoes, in all their forms—from straight-cut fries to shoestring fries, steak fries to waffle fries—hold a special place in our hearts and kitchens. When Pubity, the London-based culture and entertainment platform conducted a poll on 'Greatest Vegetable of All Time', it was predictable that potato will win the race. 'Our fans voted Potato as the 'Greatest Vegetable of All Time' in a 76% vs 24% decision over Garlic,' they wrote announcing the winner. 'Potato is the most versatile root vegetable, it can be used in millions of ways. Yet it delivers different taste and flavour when fused with different ingredients. Not just that, potatoes are often linked to a 'feel-good' factor due to their high starch content and the way they impact serotonin production, a neurotransmitter associated with mood and well-being,' says chef Reetu Uday Kugaji. So no matter what shape and size a potato is, it can uplift your mood in no time. Here are some best pairings to keep in mind: Straight-cut fries: The traditional, uniform fries—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Pair them with burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, or classic fish and chips for a traditional combo. Shoestring fries: Ultra-thin and crispy, these fries cook quickly and are perfect for topping dishes or snacking. Serve alongside sliders, grilled cheese sandwiches, or crispy chicken tenders for a delightful contrast in textures Steak fries: Thick-cut wedges with a hearty bite, ideal for dipping in sauces. Complement with hearty dishes like steak, grilled sausages, or a classic club sandwich. Crinkle-cut fries: Wavy, ridged fries that hold sauces well and offer a satisfying crunch. Pair with crispy chicken sandwiches, burgers, or a classic hot dog for a nostalgic meal. Waffle fries: Lattice-patterned fries that maximize surface area, making them excellent for dipping. Great with grilled chicken wraps, barbecue pulled pork sandwiches, or a veggie burger. Curly fries: Spiral-cut fries seasoned with a blend of spices, offering a fun and flavourful twist. Serve with spicy chicken wings, grilled shrimp, or a classic cheeseburger for a flavourful meal. Tornado fries: Potato slices twisted into a spiral on a skewer, deep-fried for a crispy snack. Pair with spicy grilled chicken, barbecue ribs, or a hearty steak for an exciting twist. Pommes soufflées: Double-fried slices that puff up into delicate, airy balloons. Ideal with gourmet dishes like duck confit, filet mignon, or a delicate seafood platter. Tater tots: Grated potatoes formed into small cylinders, deep-fried to golden perfection. Perfect with chili, scrambled eggs, or a hearty breakfast burrito. Inputs from chef Nishant Choubey

Swedish mom fined over TikTok egg prank after court rules it harassment toward daughter
A Swedish woman has been convicted of harassment and ordered to pay damages to her daughter after a viral TikTok prank backfired. As reported by Pubity, the 24-year-old mother from Helsingborg cracked an egg on her daughter's head in 2023, participating in a widespread TikTok trend at the time. The case stems from a once-popular internet prank that gained traction among parents on TikTok. Typically carried out during baking sessions, the prank involves parents pretending to crack an egg into a bowl, only to unexpectedly break it on their child's head. The video, which was shared publicly on TikTok, caught the attention of a viewer who reported it to the police. Authorities launched an investigation that ultimately led to the mother being charged with harassment. In 2025, the Helsingborg District Court found her guilty and ordered her to pay her daughter SEK 20,000—equivalent to approximately $2,055 USD. Prosecutor Cecilia Andersson, speaking to reporters, argued that the act was 'degrading' and that the mother had acted recklessly by broadcasting the incident for online attention. 'It's a little girl who thinks she's going to bake an apple cake with her mom... then all of a sudden, she gets an egg cracked in her forehead,' Andersson said. 'This is a reckless act.' Despite defending herself in court by saying she was simply joining in on a viral trend—'Everyone was doing it,' she claimed—the court did not accept the justification. The case has sparked renewed discussions around the ethical boundaries of online content involving children, especially when it involves public humiliation for the sake of social media virality. The incident serves as a cautionary tale for parents and content creators alike, highlighting the real-world consequences of participating in online trends without considering the potential legal and emotional impact.
