Medical sector investments in Raysut Industrial City surpass RO 55 million
MUSCAT: Raysut Industrial City, an affiliate of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), is making significant strides in expanding its medical industries and supplies cluster, marking a significant step toward enhancing health and pharmaceutical security in the Sultanate of Oman and meeting growing demands across local and regional markets. The city is currently finalising contracts for three new projects focused on the production of eye drops, blood bags, and a range of medical supplies. Additionally, a veterinary related facility is currently under development in Raysut Industrial City. Raysut Industrial City is currently home to three operating projects in the medical sector with a total investment volume surpassing RO 55 million. Occupying a combined area exceeding 72,000 square metres, the operating projects are specialised in producing antibiotics, hormones, topical preparations, effervescent tablets, solid and liquid oral dosage forms, intravenous solutions, dialysis fluids, medical gloves, masks, cotton products, bandages, adhesive tapes, and more. By attracting and localising investments in the medical sector, Madayn aims at enhancing the Sultanate of Oman's pharmaceutical security, encourage local and foreign investments in the sector, reduce reliance on imported pharmaceuticals, and boost local production capacity. These efforts align with Oman Vision 2040 objectives to advance industrial development and achieve self-sufficiency in key sectors.

New trichlorosilane plant to boost chemical sector in Sur
SUR: Sur Industrial City, part of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), has signed an investment agreement with Al Ghaith Industries Company to establish a trichlorosilane production facility. Spanning 20,000 square metres, the plant involves an investment exceeding RO 9.6 million ($25 million). The project adds significant value by supporting the development of Oman's chemical and energy industries. It aims to localise advanced-technology-based manufacturing and create various job opportunities for Omani nationals. Engineer Al Mamoun al Badani, CEO of Al Ghaith Industries and Eng Nasser bin Hamoud al Mabsali, Director General of Sur Industrial City, sign the agreement. Engineer Nasser bin Hamoud al Mabsali, Director General of Sur Industrial City, stated the project opens new prospects in high-purity silicon production and serves as a foundation for renewable energy and electronics sectors. He noted its strategic contribution to both the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate and Sur Industrial City. Meanwhile, Engineer Al Mamoun al Badani, CEO of Al Ghaith Industries, said the plant marks a major milestone in Oman's chemical manufacturing landscape. Sur Industrial City attracts investment worth $25 million
Sur Industrial City, which falls under the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, Madayn, has signed an investment contract with Al Ghaith Industries to establish a factory for the production of Trichlorosilane. The facility will be built on an area of 20,000 sqm, with an investment size exceeding $25 million. This value-added project is set to boost the growth of the chemical and energy sectors in the Sultanate. Eng. Nasser Al Mabsali, Director General of Sur Industrial City, stated that the project opens new horizons for the development of high-purity silicon manufacturing, which is the cornerstone of renewable energy and electronics industries. 'This investment represents a significant value addition to South Al Sharqiyah Governorate in general and Sur Industrial City in particular. The project will support the localisation of advanced technology-based industries and provide employment opportunities for Omani cadres,' Al Mabsali said. Eng. Almamoon Al Baadani, CEO of Al Ghaith Industries, highlighted that the Trichlorosilane plant represents a major milestone in the Sultanate's chemical sector. 'This will be the first facility of its kind in the Middle East, and several projects are planned over the coming years, thanks to Oman's attractive investment environment,' Al Baadani said. He noted that the factory's commercial production is expected to commence by the end of the first quarter of 2027, expressing gratitude to the management of Madayn, represented by Sur Industrial City, for their efforts in facilitating the investment process and advancing the industrial sector.

Al Mudhaibi Industrial City attracts RO5.75mn in new investments
Muscat – Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, operated by Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn, signed two investment agreements on Wednesday for the establishment of six new factories. The deals are valued at RO5.75mn and will cover more than 21,000sqm. The signing took place in the presence of Mahmoud bin Yahya al Dhuhli, Governor of North Sharqiyah, and Dawood bin Salim al Hadabi, CEO of Madayn, alongside officials from both public and private sector entities. The first agreement, signed with Global Prime Matter SPC, involves setting up four factories producing electrical materials, electronics, home furniture and cold storage supplies. The total investment for this project is RO5mn with operations to be based on a 14,538sqm plot. The second agreement, signed with Middle East Livestock Company, includes an automated poultry slaughterhouse and a disinfectants production factory. This project spread over 7,000sqm will see investment of over RO750,000. Said bin Khalfan al Shabibi, Acting Director General of Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, said the city attracted five industrial projects in the last quarter of 2024, worth a combined RO5.8mn. These agreements followed an investment call in October 2024 raising total investment in the city to RO11.6mn across 75,000sqm. He added that the tender for Phase 1 development of the city is expected to be awarded early next quarter. This phase will include infrastructure works such as internal roads, perimeter fencing, gate facilities, construction of offices and facility buildings, and utility networks for electricity, water, sewage and Internet. It will include plans for Madayn's Entrepreneurial and Agricultural Complexes. Al Mudhaibi Industrial City spans 9mn sqm, with Phase 1 covering around 1.5mn sqm. Strategically located near the main highway linking Special Economic Zone at Duqm with key ports and border points, the city is part of a national strategy to drive economic growth in North Sharqiyah. The industrial city is aligned with Madayn Vision 2040 and Oman Vision 2040, which aim to develop integrated industrial cities in collaboration with the private Correspondent

Rusayl Industrial City localises 17 projects worth RO49mn
Muscat – Al Rusayl Industrial City, affiliated to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates 'Madayn', signed 17 new contracts in 2024, covering over 235,000sqm and attracting investments exceeding RO49mn. These projects cover a diverse range of sectors, including industrial, logistics and service. Since its establishment in 1983, the city has played a central role in providing a conducive business environment and supporting government efforts aimed at economic diversification in line with Oman Vision 2040. Fahad bin Nasser al Abrawi, acting CEO of Al Rusayl Industrial City Company, highlighted that cumulative investments in the city have surpassed RO767mn by the end of 2024, spread across nearly 11mn sqm area. The industrial city hosts activities in chemicals, electrical materials, building materials, fiber optic cables, food products, textiles, stationery, paints, filters, furniture, and more. Madayn is currently advancing several strategic projects in Al Rusayl Industrial City, including the infrastructure project of the Madayn Entrepreneurial Complex in collaboration with the SMEs Development Authority. Covering over 60,000sqm area, this project aims to provide fully serviced industrial workshops of 500sqm each, dedicated to supporting small and medium enterprises. Additionally, the consultancy project for infrastructure improvements in Al Rusayl Industrial City is underway to address rainwater accumulation in several areas. This includes constructing new access roads to some leased lands along with other enhancements. Abrawi pointed out that the approved future projects include the redevelopment of the commercial area to increase retail capacity, an integrated project to support food security in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR), and a sustainable wastewater recycling project to support industrial cooling and manufacturing processes within Al Rusayl Industrial City. Moreover, Madayn completed in 2024 the modernisation and beautification of the industrial city's main entrance with a contemporary design, reflecting its commitment to an attractive and modern industrial hub. Since its inception, the Masar Service Centre in Al Rusayl Industrial City has played a key role in streamlining investment procedures by providing a unified platform for all required approvals, permits, and licenses. The centre offers integrated support services including consulting, financing, banking, medical checks, beside others.
