Huawei Pura 80 series goes international
Michail, 10 July 2025 Huawei announced its Pura 80 series in China last month, and it is now ready to bring the Pura 80, 80 Pro and 80 Ultra to international markets. These are Huawei's flagship offerings for 2025, and the Pura 80 Ultra stands out from the rest with its switchable telephoto lenses and 1" main sensor. Before we delve deeper, a few quick words on availability. The Pura 80 Ultra costs AED5,100 in the UAE, which equals $1,400, but in Europe it's going to be €1,500 for its only 512/16GB version. The Pro is €1,099 with the same amount of storage and 12GB RAM. Huawei also has the phones at its regional pages in Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, which is clear indication that the Pura 80 series will be sold in those regions. Huawei keeps on making tech breakthroughs in the camera department, fitting a 1/1.28-inch periscope telephoto sensor (50MP) attached to two lenses on the Pura 80 Ultra. You get an 83mm f/2.4 (3.7x) equivalent short telephoto with 50MP shots and a 212mm f/3.6 (10x) one for longer shots which covers 12.5MP. Huawei added a micron-level motor that switches between the two zoom lenses, with the whole setup consisting of over 140 components. The main 50MP camera is a beast in itself, armed with a 1-inch type RYYB sensor, a variable aperture lens, and a record 16 stops of dynamic range. The other sensor on the back is a 13mm equivalent 40MP ultrawide shooter. Pura 80 Ultra also gets a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED (FHD+120Hz), Huawei's Kirin 9020 chipset paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. This international version of the Pura 80 Ultra gets a smaller 5,170mAh battery compared to the 5,700mAh one on the Chinese version. It still does 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Pura 80 offers a 50MP main shooter with a variable f/1.4-4.0 aperture alongside a 12MP 5x periscope and a 13MP ultrawide lens Huawei Pura 80 Pura 80 Pro gets the 1-inch type 50MP main cam with f/1.6-f/4.0 variable aperture from the Pura 80 Ultra. That's paired with a 93mm equivalent telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom and a wider f/2.1 aperture as well as a 40MP ultrawide.
