Pusha T Gets Candid About Fallout With Ye Ahead Of Clipse Album Release

Pusha T is done holding his tongue when it comes to Kanye West, now simply known as Ye. In a candid new interview with Ebro Darden for Apple Music, the Virginia lyricist opened up about his public fallout from Ye, and the unraveling of their once-close friendship. Ahead of The Clipse's highly anticipated reunion album Let God Sort Em Out set for relase tomorrow (July 11), Pusha sat down to reflect on why his relationship with Ye is no longer what it used to be. 'I feel like me and Ye, we don't gel,' he admitted to Darden. 'Where I am right now in my life, I'm not with anybody who ain't on my team — especially when I've been on your team.' Pusha explained that Kanye's habit of aligning with people who don't support him was the final straw. 'He champions and stands next to anybody and everybody who don't f**k with me,' he said, clearly frustrated. 'And I don't get that. I don't understand that.' The former G.O.O.D Music president, who helped shape some of Ye's most iconic records and vice versa, didn't hold back on how much the shift has stung, especially as their musical collaborations remain undeniable. 'Why would you ever say anything negative about the music we created when you know it slaps?' Pusha said, adding that while Kanye may have his reasons for the distance, he no longer cares to figure them out. Watch at the 45:11 mark below. This isn't the first time Push has spoken out on their fallout. In an earlier GQ interview, he made it clear that the respect he once had for Ye had faded — not just professionally, but personally. 'We made some great sh*t, bro,' he told the outlet. 'He's a genius. But that's why me and him don't get along, because he sees through my fakeness with him. He knows I don't think he's a man. He's shown me the weakest sides of him, and he knows how I think of weak people.' Their creative bond helped produce career-defining tracks like 'Runaway,' 'Mercy,' and the classic track 'Infrared' — which led to Pusha's infamous feud with Drake in 2018. Push officially stepped away from G.O.O.D Music in 2022 after Ye's antisemitic comments caused widespread backlash. 'He's not speaking to me now,' Pusha told XXL at the time. 'If you ain't with it, you ain't down. And I ain't with it. I'm not budging on that.' Still, Ye has had moments of regret. When Clipse released their comeback single 'Say Less' earlier this year, the Vultures artist took to X to post: 'I miss me and Pusha's friendship.' But that nostalgia didn't stop him from going on frequent rants including one recent livestream where he questioned Pusha's loyalty. 'Pusha T, all that tough guy sh*i. Where the tough guy sh*t?' Ye said. 'I bled for you. I asked for one thing: use your voice, your stability.' He then took credit for helping Pusha take down Drake in 2018, calling himself the foundation of Pusha's most notorious diss track. The comment left fans wondering if Kanye genuinely wanted reconciliation or just recognition. In the years since their fallout, Ye has thrown jabs from afar, even telling Akademiks that Pusha should stay quiet about his political beliefs given all he's done for his career. 'If you ain't gonna speak on my behalf with the situation I'm in right now with my children, don't talk about my political views,' Ye said. Aside from the on-and-off antics of Ye and his split from his bromance with Pusha T, The Clipse are gearing up for one of Hip-Hop's biggest drops of the year. Did Travis Scott Diss Pusha T On His New ‘Jackboys 2' Album?

Travis Scott seems to have responded—albeit subtly but sharply—to recent personal jabs made by Pusha T, using his new Jackboys 2 compilation as a platform to break his silence. Released on Sunday (July 13), the highly anticipated project features Cactus Jack Records mainstays like Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, and SoFaygo, along with guest appearances from Playboi Carti, Future, GloRilla, Bun B, and others. However, it's Scott's own verse on the track 'Champain & Vacay' that's drawing the most attention, with fans and critics alike noting what seems to be a pointed lyrical response to Pusha's recent character attacks. On the song, Scott raps, 'Yeah, man, I swear these old ni**as kill me/ Know my YNs feel me/ They just want the real me, yeah/ Blue Bugatti, I'm dodgin' TMZ/ Made a hundred off pushin' T's/ Now my phone on DND, yeah.' While he doesn't name Pusha directly, the line 'Made a hundred off pushin' T's' is widely interpreted as a play on the Virginia rapper's name. The verse also seemingly mocks Pusha's age and hints at the drama swirling in the media—particularly surrounding TMZ coverage. The rift between the two artists reportedly stems from Scott allowing Drake to take shots at both Pharrell Williams and Pusha T on the UTOPIA track 'Meltdown.' According to Pusha, the moment felt like a betrayal, particularly since the two had just shared a studio session in Paris. In a GQ interview, Pusha recalled: 'He came to [Pharrell's] studio. He interrupted a session… He's smiling, laughing, jumping around, doing his f**king monkey dance… And then a week later you hear 'Meltdown,' which he didn't play.' Pusha later doubled down on his disapproval, confirming speculation that lines from the Clipse's Let God Sort Em Out track 'So Be It' were aimed squarely at Travis: 'You cried in front of me, you died in front of me/ Calabasas took your bi*ch and your pride in front of me… Lucky I ain't TMZ it, so be it, so be it.' While Travis doesn't address every accusation directly, 'Champain & Vacay' suggests he's not ignoring the shots fired. Instead, he's choosing to respond the way he knows best: through the music. Kendrick Lamar features in the ‘culturally inappropriate' music video titled Chains and Whips. Watch

Maybe music artistes are all going to the same tarot reader or something because everyone is dropping new music. Justin Bieber's 'Swag', Travis Scott's 'Jackboys 2' and Clipse's 'Let God Sort Em Out' have all come out in this past week, and the latter has just dropped a music video with none other than Kendrick Lamar. Clipse, which is a duo consisting of Malice and Pusha T, seem to be offended about something because their verses cut straight to the bone; it's almost as if there was no need for Kendrick on this track, but if there is a song about the capitalisation, violence and ever-growing angst of the successful Black man, our resident Compton artiste finds space for himself regardless of the situation. It's rather interesting that Kendrick is featuring with Pusha T and Malice, considering he and Pusha both have malice for a common enemy, Drake. Aside from bad puns, it doesn't exactly take Lester Bangs to figure out how quickly Kendrick must have said yes to the feature on a song by a fellow Drake 'fan'. The song opens with a strong verse by Pusha, but even though the cadence of the artiste fits the Pharrell Williams-produced beat, the actual content isn't something unique because we have seen this fight take place too many times now. The rapper talks about another fellow rapper, Jim Jones (although I don't think Pusha considers him a part of the culture), who in a recent interview hailed Drake as the greatest rapper of all time (not sure why). Pusha accused the rapper of 'chasing a feature' that is out of his reach and tells him to stop flexing his fake jewellery before he truly gets called out and shunned by the entire industry. ALSO READ: Victory Lap: Fred Again needs to give Hanumankind a proper verse, listen to the song before Instagram ruins it Malice starts by building on the same narrative and says that he is sure that Jones has by now figured out that this song is about him. He effortlessly quotes passages from the Bible (John 10:10) and makes references to Leonardo DiCaprio's The Revenant. While an argument can be made that the two rappers are making a mountain out of a molehill, rappers were never exactly known for letting things go and not being petty about something someone said. Kendrick then takes things ahead, and you guessed it, it's not pretty at all. K-Dot starts his verse by making a reference to the Kumbaya movement, which basically teaches one to be helpful and accepting towards their fellow men. He makes it clear that he isn't down with the peace be with all state of mind and is here to take names. He accuses certain people of making hip-hop too commercial (such layered hints) and shouts out both Nas and Rakim in the same couplet, talking about how hip-hop is dead, which was the title for Nas' 2006 album of the same name. He offers his respect to Rakim in the next bar as he praises him for the lyrical genius he is and how he influenced so many rappers that came after him. With more Bible references, star-sign mentions (Kendrick loves those), and giving shouts outs to everything from the Genovese crime family to the failed Trump assassination, Kendrick attempts to lay the law down, which says that he is the best of this generation, by far. What's rather amazing about the track is that Malice is able to hold on to his own while rapping with Kendrick and Pusha, who, according to many, are much more established names in the industry. His clarity of thought is unmatched, and his ideas reach your cerebral cortex without having to watch three different YouTube videos and then trying to mix and match whatever information you have got. Pusha and Kendrick are determined and brutal in their execution and deliver verses with impressive double entendres and references while maintaining a flow worthy of William's backing track. All in all, it's a great song, but only if you don't understand any of the Drake hate, because it's over, it's old, and no one needs another lawsuit.

Travis Scott subtly addresses Pusha T diss on Jackboys 2 amid Clipse album release weekend

Jackboys 2, the long-awaited Cactus Jack compilation led by Travis Scott, is now out, featuring Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, and SoFaygo. The release comes amid rising tension between Scott and rapper Pusha T, who recently criticized Travis on the new Clipse track 'So Be It.' Pusha, in a GQ interview, criticized Travis for flaunting his alliance with Pharrell during the Utopia rollout, only to feature Drake on the same album—where Drake delivered a verse dissing Pharrell and Clipse. Pusha didn't hold back, calling Travis 'a whore' with no loyalty or moral standard. While Scott had previously remained silent, the new project seems to offer a subtle response. The opening track, 'Champain & Vacay,' features Don Toliver and ad-libs from Waka Flocka Flame. Toward the end of his verse, Scott raps: 'Man these old n-ggas kill me/Know my YNs feel me… Blue Bugatti, dodgin TMZ/Made a hundred off of pushin tees/Now my phone on DND.' The wordplay alludes to Pusha's name while portraying him as an aging critic. The 'dodgin TMZ' lyric appears to reference a line from 'So Be It,' where Pusha warns Travis he's lucky he didn't 'TMZ it'—hinting at a potentially damaging video. The album opens with narration from Bun B and spans 17 tracks. No other lyrics directly mention Pusha, Clipse, or Pharrell, indicating Travis may be shrugging off the feud. Observers also noted that Scott announced the album just two days before release—timed to coincide with Clipse's long-planned Let God Sort Em Out, possibly setting up a streaming showdown. Ahead of the release, Pusha and his brother Malice addressed the timing in a Breakfast Club interview, encouraging fans to compare both records. Jackboys 2 also features appearances from Future, Playboi Carti, 21 Savage, GloRilla, Kodak Black, Tyla, and Vybz Kartel.

Pusha T responds to Kanye West saying he misses their friendship

Pusha T has broken his silence on Kanye West's recent comments about missing their friendship, offering a blunt yet confident response. During a recent interview, the Clipse rapper was asked about Ye's statement in which the controversial artist expressed regret over the fallout between them. Pusha didn't hold back in his reaction. 'I don't care about that at all. It's fine. I would miss me, too. I really would,' he said, making it clear that he has moved on and isn't looking back. The comment, while short, signals that reconciliation isn't on his radar—at least not anytime soon. Kanye West and Pusha T were once close collaborators, with Ye producing Pusha's critically acclaimed albums Daytona (2018) and It's Almost Dry (2022). However, the relationship appeared to fracture in recent years due to creative differences, political tensions, and Kanye's increasingly controversial public behavior. While Ye recently told fans he misses his friendship with Pusha, the response from the G.O.O.D. Music president-turned-independent artist makes it clear that he's focused on his own path. The comment adds another chapter to the complex relationship between two of hip hop's most influential figures. Fans have long speculated about the status of their friendship, but based on Pusha's latest remark, a reunion seems unlikely.
