‘Cobra Kai' Actress Breaks Silence After Allegedly Being Bit by Co-Star

Alicia Hannah-Kim is speaking out after she was reportedly bit by her Cobra Kai co-star Martin Kove during a fan convention in Washington last weekend. The actress, 37, shared an Instagram video Sunday, June 29 in which she thanked "everyone who has reached out to me in the past week." "I know that there's a lot going on in the world right now so I'm going to keep this brief," Hannah-Kim said. "I was really enjoying my time at Summer Con. I love meeting you guys in real life." "But as you can see, this was a serious incident," she continued. "No one wants to be attacked at work, or anywhere really. And I don't think anybody would think this is normal or warranted or acceptable." Hannah-Kim also said, "I just think that when you are confronted with something like this, it's good to stand up for yourself. It's an important choice to make. I think it's the good choice to make." She also made clear that her altercation with Kove does not "represent" her otherwise positive experience working on Cobra Kai. "I think everybody could tell that it's a really great vibe and a great cast and everybody else is delightful," she said. "So I don't want this to affect your love for the show and feel free to love on it as hard as you want. I just wanted to come on here, say thank you to everybody, and just clear it up and move on." Hannah-Kim's statement comes a week after the alleged incident occurred. According to a report from the Puyallup Police Department obtained by TMZ, the 78-year-old actor was accused by Hannah-Kim of biting her so hard on her arm he nearly drew blood. Hannah-Kim reportedly told a police officer working at the event that Kove grabbed her arm and bit down completely unprovoked after she passed by and said hello. The actress chose not the press charges, but officers allegedly ordered Kove to leave the venue immediately. The actor reportedly apologized in front of police officers at the scene and again via a statement to the press. "I deeply regret and apologize for my actions regarding the incident with Alicia [Hannah-Kim], a genuinely kind and wonderful person who didn't deserve to be put in this position," Kove said in a statement provided to Deadline. "I've always respected her and considered her a highly professional and talented co-worker on Cobra Kai. I was being playful in the moment but went too far and there is absolutely no excuse for my behavior. I regret my actions for which I take full responsibility for what I did, and again I apologize to her and her husband. I'm committed to learning from this and it will never happen again." Martin Kove accused of biting Alicia Hannah-Kim, nearly drawing blood

Police in Washington state say Cobra Kai star Martin Kove (pic) bit the arm of co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim during a VIP meet-and-greet at a fan convention over the weekend. Brooklyn-born Kove — who reprised his Karate Kid role of villain John Kreese in the Netflix series — was asked to leave Summer Con on Sunday after Hannah-Kim, 42, said hello and he responded by biting her arm 'so hard he nearly drew blood,' according to a report from the Puyallup Police Department obtained by Variety. Kove then allegedly kissed the bite mark, after which Hannah-Kim and her husband confronted the 78-year-old Rambo actor, who police say 'exploded on them' for doing so. When the couple sought the help of an officer at the convention to diffuse the situation, Kove claimed he was only trying to be 'funny,' saying he and Hannah-Kim 'play fight all the time on the set of Cobra Kai .' Hannah-Kim — who played sensei Kim Da-Eun on Seasons 5 and 6 of Cobra Kai — said she wanted to file a police report 'in case this continues,' but did not intend to press charges. Both Kove and Hannah-Kim have shared content from the event, which included the VIP meet-and-greet, but do not appear to have publicly remarked on the alleged assault. Representatives for Kove and Hannah-Kim did not immediately respond to the Daily News ' request for comment. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service

Martin Kove accused of biting, then kissing, ‘Cobra Kai' co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim's arm

Martin Kove, who stars as John Kreese on 'Cobra Kai,' allegedly bit a co-star — hard — on Sunday at a fan convention in Washington state. Alicia Hannah-Kim, who joined the Netflix series as Kim Da-Eun in the show's fifth season, was on her way to her booth when she tapped Kove on the shoulder to say hello in an area where the show's cast was hanging out, according to a Puyallup Police Department report obtained by The Times. Kove's reaction appears to have shocked her. 'When Alicia did this Martin Kove suddenly grabbed her arm and bit her upper arm so hard it nearly drew blood, and she yelled out in pain,' an officer who was assigned to VIP security at Washington State Summer Con wrote in the report. 'Once Martin Kove finished biting her arm, he grabbed her arm again and began kissing it where he bit her.' The officer said the actor had a 'very noticeable bite mark on her arm that was already turning blue and bruising' when she showed it to him. When Hannah-Kim, 37, and her husband-handler Sebastian Roche, went to talk to the 78-year-old actor immediately after the incident, Kove 'exploded' and said he had done nothing wrong, the report said. That's when the couple got the police involved. Kove admitted to the officer that he had bitten his co-star's arm and said he 'did it out of jest' and 'thought he was being funny,' the report said. The officer said in the report that he told Kove that biting Hannah-Kim was illegal and could be investigated as an assault. Kove could potentially be arrested or cited, the officer said. Kove said 'something to the effect of he said sorry already,' then 'appeared to see how serious' the situation was and began to apologize in the officer's presence. Hannah-Kim told the officer privately that she did not want to pursue charges but wanted a report filled out in case it happened again. Kove declined the opportunity to file a handwritten statement about what had happened, the report said. Roche did give a handwritten statement in which he noted that Kove had 'resorted to being very angry at us' when he and his wife confronted him about the incident. Hannah-Kim and Kove both play head senseis on 'Cobra Kai.' A representative for Kove, who has more than 230 acting credits including 'Death Race 2000,' 'Wyatt Earp,' 'VFW' and the 'Karate Kid' movies, did not respond immediately on Tuesday to The Times' request for comment.

Cobra Kai's reel-life villain Martin Kove turns real-life villain at fan convention

On Sunday, Cobra Kai actor Martin Kove was reportedly asked to leave a fan convention after co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim accused him of biting her during a meet-and-greet session. The incident took place at Summer Con in Puyallup, Washington, where the cast had gathered to interact with fans, according to a report filed with the Puyallup Police Department. As detailed in the report, Hannah-Kim — who plays South Korean sensei Kim Da-Eun — approached Kove to greet him when he allegedly grabbed her arm and bit her. She screamed in pain, at which point Kove reportedly began kissing the area where he had bitten her. The bite was described as severe, 'almost drawing blood,' according to Hannah-Kim's statement to police. When Hannah-Kim and her husband, actor Sebastian Roché, confronted Kove about the incident, he allegedly became defensive and claimed he had done it "for fun." Law enforcement was contacted, and charges were initially considered. However, Hannah-Kim later chose not to press charges, effectively sparing Kove from potential legal consequences.

What was the police response on Pioneer Monday in Puyallup? Here's what we know

Two men are in custody and one is on the loose after an early-morning burglary in Bonney Lake, according to police. Mark Berry, police chief for the Bonney Lake Police Department, told The News Tribune the burglary happened at a local pharmacy at about 3:20 a.m. on Monday. When The News Tribune asked him for the name of the pharmacy, he declined to answer but said it is in the area of 204th Avenue East and state Route 410. Berry said the suspects were three men. When police showed up at the pharmacy, they saw one of the men flee out the window and the two other men drive away in a white SUV, he said. Berry said investigators used the city's Flock license plate camera system 'to identify the suspect vehicle and put that information out.' A K9 from the Puyallup Police Department found the three men driving at 13th Street Southeast and Pioneer Way East in Puyallup, Berry said. The three men then ran out of the car and officers used a drone and a K9 to find two of the suspects, who are now in custody. The third is still at large. 'After a search warrant on the vehicle, we recovered several bags of stolen prescription narcotics from the pharmacy, as well as burglary tools,' Berry said. 'We are currently working with other agencies in the area who have reported similar burglaries.' Berry said the third man was last seen wearing all-black clothing and a mask.
