The institute also features specialised programmes in Engineering Physics, Biotechnology, Mathematics and Computing, and Production and Industrial Engineering. But what about placements? As mentioned in the press release of IIT Delhi, students have secured over 1200 job offers, including pre-placement offers (PPOs), with about 1150 individual students being selected. Some of the major companies, that participated in the placement season were Microsoft India (R&D), Samsung R&D Noida, IBM, HCL Tech, Micron, Daimler Trucks, and QuantumStreet AI, among others. IIT Bombay offers a rich array of departments across engineering, sciences, and interdisciplinary fields. In engineering, it has some core branches, including Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Aerospace Engineering. The institute also features departments like Engineering Physics, Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science, Industrial Engineering & Operations Research, and Energy Science and Engineering. The placement season in 2023-24 witnessed 2,414 students registering for the recruitment drive and 1,979 actively participating. A total of 1,475 job offers were accepted out of 1,650 rolled out by 364 participating companies. The drive also saw a significant number of high-value offers, with 22 students accepting packages above Rs 1 crore per annum. Additionally, 258 students secured pre-placement offers, and 78 received international job opportunities. The average annual Cost to Company (CTC) stood at Rs 23.50 LPA, while the median salary was Rs 17.92 LPA. Engineering & Technology emerged as the top recruiting sector. In the given duration, 319 students registered for the ECE placement, and 232 got placed. IIT Kanpur offers a broad spectrum of academic departments that span engineering, sciences, and interdisciplinary studies. Core engineering branches include Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Aerospace Engineering. The institute also has programmes in Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Engineering Physics, and Mathematics and Scientific Computing. According to placement data published in December 2024, IIT Kanpur successfully wrapped up Phase 1 of its 2024–25 placement season with 28 international job offers, marking a notable 27 per cent growth compared to the previous year. Top recruiters in this phase featured industry giants such as Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Intel, Oracle, Texas Instruments, Databricks, Reliance, and American Express, among several others. IIT Kharagpur offers Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mining Engineering, Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture, and Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering. With additional schools in Law, Management, and Medical Science and Technology. In its latest placement cycle, IIT Kharagpur secured an impressive 1,800 job offers, which included 409 pre-placement offers (PPOs) and 25 international opportunities. Notably, nine students landed packages exceeding Rs 1 crore annually, with the highest offer reaching Rs 2.14 crore per annum. These remarkable placements were extended by leading global tech companies, highlighting the robust industry connections and growing demand for talent from the institute's Computer Science and Engineering department. There are various departments, like applied mathematics and scientific computing, architecture and planning, biosciences and bioengineering, and chemical engineering, apart from regular BTech courses like CSE, ECE, among others. The Institute has some unique courses, also like department of hydrology, earthquake engineering, paper technology, water resources development and management and management studies. IIT Guwahati offers a comprehensive range of departments and interdisciplinary centres that span engineering, sciences, design, and humanities. Key engineering branches include Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. The placement season for 2023–24 witnessed participation from 466 registered companies. A total of 229 Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) were extended to students. The highest salary offered stood at an impressive Rs 2.05 crore per annum (CTC). Notably, 102 students secured packages of Rs 50 LPA or more. The Core and Tech sectors emerged as the top recruiters, continuing to dominate the placement landscape. Furthermore, 14 Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) also participated. The Electronics and Electrical Engineering discipline recorded a strong placement performance during the 2023–24 placement season. Out of 64 registered students, 54 were successfully placed, resulting in an impressive placement percentage of 84%. IIT Hyderabad offers a range of undergraduate programmes like BTech, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and more. Additionally, it offers a Bachelor of Design (BDes). The placement season saw 74.90% of students successfully placed across various sectors. The highest annual package reached Rs 63.78 LPA, while the average package stood at a strong Rs 20.07 LPA. A total of 335 companies participated in the placement drive, offering 621 job offers in total. 570 students secured placements, indicating a highly successful hiring season. Pre-placement offers (PPOs) were also significant, with 104 PPOs extended to students based on their internship performances. This is the only NIT in the list of top 10 where IITs have dominated. The Institute has left IIT BHU behind in the list. NIT Trichy is home to various courses like ECE, CSE, CE, among others. Other courses that make the Institute appear different from NITs are Energy and Environment, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mathematics, Production Engineering and others. In the placement records for ECE for the duration 2020-21, the latest uploaded on the official website, 72 students were placed. Making the ECE placement reach 73.46 per cent and that too with the highest package of Rs 43.31 LPA. Among the core engineering courses, other courses offered y IIT BHU are Mining Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, Materials Science and Technology, and NC Jain School of Decision Science and Engineering. Some of the recruiters are Google, Goldman Sachs, Rakuten, PayPal, Oracle, Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung, Walmart, Unilever, Dream11, Intel, Cipla, Yubi, Jio, Mathworks, Zomato, and Optum and others.

Sustainability Score, which assesses an institution's performance in managing sustainability-related risks and opportunities shows how the top institutions have worked towards environmental, social and governance cause. Here are the top 10 Institutions according to the QS World University Rankings along with their sustainability scores: Number one on the overall rank list is the United State's Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a sustainability score of 93.8. Imperial College London of United Kingdom secured the second overall rank, earning a sustainability score of 98.3. Stanford University, from the United States secured the third overall rank with a sustainability score of 95.4. University of Oxford from the United Kingdom acquired the overall fourth position, earning a sustainability score of 77.9.
