New school to meet needs of outer regions
Parents are also required to sign a declaration approving the student's transition to the new educational environment and to adhere to the ministry's student assessment policy and registration procedures.
The opening of the new school comes as part of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's efforts to meet the educational needs of the outer regions and provide specialised educational options that support the national drive to diversify secondary education pathways.
This is based on the results of opinion polls conducted by the ministry with students and parents in the region, which revealed a growing desire to provide technical education for girls in the northern region.
It's worth noting that Qatar currently hosts eight specialised schools, including three schools for girls: Qatar Technical Secondary School for Girls, Qatar Banking Studies and Business Administration School for Girls, and the new school in the north.
The ministry affirmed that this trend reflects its ongoing commitment to expanding vocational and technical education opportunities for students across the country, in line with the priorities of Qatar National Vision 2030, which support a knowledge-based economy and empower national human resources, especially women, to play an active role in comprehensive development.
