Queensland bids to host Quad Summit in 2026
Queensland Premier David Crisafulli has made a bid to host the Quad Summit, which would see US President Donald Trump to the Sunshine State.
India will be hosting the next Quad Leader Summit later this year, so the earliest Australia could host one is in 2026.
Mr Crisafulli has petitioned Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to have the event in Queensland if Australia wins the right to host.
The Quad is a meeting between Australia, the United States, India, and Japan with the goal of defending a free and open Indo-Pacific.
