Expert's BBQ cleaning hack only needs one common kitchen staple
Cleaning your barbecue grill has never been so easy thanks to his one hack shared by the Queen of Clean herself - and you just need this one kitchen staple ingredient Chefs are up on a sunny day in your garden with your friends and family during the summertime, which is what summer is all about - until it gets to the cleaning part. A cleaning expert has just revealed the ultimate life-saver hack that only needs a common kitchen ingredient. Over time, the barbecue accumulates a lot of dirt as the juices and the grease from the meats seep onto the racks. As they become hard over time, it makes it difficult to remove them. But instead of spending hours using a sponge and dish soap, trying to rub it off, this one hack might be the solution you've been looking for. Lynsey Crombie, also known as the Queen of Clean, shared her number one tip for when it's time to clean your barbecue grill, and all you need is an onion. How to clean your BBQ grill She captioned: "Heat the grill to a high temperature to loosen any stuck-on food and grime. Use an onion you have left over from your BBQ to save waste." Lynsey then told her followers to use a long-handled fork and rub the cut side of the onion over the boiling grill grates. Doing so will then help break down the residue using the onion's natural juices. She explained: "Onions have antibacterial properties that can help sanitise the grill, reducing the presence of harmful bacteria." Her fans flooded the comments section, thanking the Queen of Clean. Other fans also suggested alternative methods to remove the grease from the barbecue grill, ensuring it would be clean and ready for next time. One wrote: "Cleaning a grill is hard work. I'll be trying this next time,' with a second one adding: "This is genius." Another follower suggested: "I like to dip my onion in a bowl with some salt and oil. The salt acts like an abrasive and also seasons the grill. A hack learnt on holidays in Turkey, where BBQ is king!" With a staggering following count of 381k, Lynsey is also known for being a television personality. She gained fame appearing on Channel 4 's program, Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners. Following her stint, the cleaning expert has been sharing tips and tricks regularly on her social media platforms, as well as on ITV 's This Morning. Interestingly, Lynsey has a range of cleaning tools and has also published four books, with her most recent one being The 15 Minute Clean.

According to the guru, who shared the trick with This Morning viewers, the solution is simple - and all you need are two common household items and some water. Dropping the knowledge bombs to Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, Lynsey revealed how to use copper coins to deter annoying wasps and flies. Chatting to the ITV presenters, Lynsey said: ''All you need to do is get yourself a recycled jar of water and put copper coins in. ''For the bins, you can hang bags of water with the copper coins in.'' For best results, it's advised to use something more durable and clear, such as a sandwich bag, she noted. While some may think the hack is some form of ''witchcraft'', the explanation is actually quite simple. The expert went on: ''So, things like flies and hornets, when they look at that, especially when it's hanging, they go dizzy - it's like they're drunk. ''They go a bit dippy and they turn around from your food, from your bin and it does work.'' The expert - who's shared plenty of hacks for the summer season - emphasised that silver coins, such as 50p, won't work. How to Keep Wasps, Bees, and Flies Out of Your Home with a 5p Onion Hack ''It has to be copper. If you're dining outside, do that.'' Don't have any spare change? There are heaps of other hacks to try this season. Previously, pest control expert Adam Juson from Merlin Environmental explained how using essential oils can put a stop to wasps entering your garden. He said: 'Citronella is a classic repellent and comes from lemongrass. It's most commonly added to candles which can be lit during al fresco meal times to boost the atmosphere and deter wasps. Tips for keeping pests from your garden Plant companion plants such as peppermint to repel rats. Place Garden Netting Pest Barrier, over your flowerbeds. Fill open-top containers with beer and place in soil to repel slugs. Spray plants with Neem Oil, to repel ants, flies, and spiders. Dust your flowerbeds with Diatomaceous Earth. Mix 1 tablespoon dish soap, 10 drops peppermint oil, and 4 cups water and spray on flowerbeds. Place eggshells around your plants to protect from slugs and snails. 'Tea tree is another scent that wasps hate but you might struggle to find a tea tree candle. Instead, place bowls of tea tree and water around your outside area and along your dinner table. 'Basil and garlic are two other scents that will naturally deter wasps. So consider placing pots of basil along your BBQ table. "When it comes to garlic, you could either plan a garlic-infused spread or add to water and spray in areas that you don't want wasps to be attracted to.' There's also a trick that's sure to become a hit if you love your morning coffee. To ensure that wasps leave your garden alone this summer, all you'll need to do is simply put some coffee powder in a fire-proof bowl and light it until the granules glow. Adam explained: 'The burning coffee powder gives off smoke and scent that wasps can't stand. 'Don't worry about using fresh coffee - if you have a coffee machine, leftover grounds work just as well. 'Remember that the coffee grounds will get very hot so keep them out of reach of little ones! On the topic of smoke, almost all smoke will disturb wasps which means incense sticks are a great addition to your outside gathering. Plus, they smell great too!'

Cleaning guru Lynsey 'Queen of Clean' shares stain hack using common body product
Cleaning expert Lynsey Crombie, aka the Queen of Clean, has shared a simple and cheap way to remove stains from carpets When dealing with carpet spills, the secret to preventing a lasting stain is to respond quickly, but before you go grabbing some carpet cleaner, you may want to look in your bathroom cupboard. Not every household has carpet cleaning solutions readily available. However, there's no need to panic if that's your situation. Lynsey Crombie, a cleaning guru and social media personality, has shared a remarkable yet practical trick for unexpected carpet mishaps. Should you find yourself without specialist cleaning products, shaving foam can save the day. Lynsey revealed her advice on her Instagram account @lynsey_queenofclean, explaining: "Shaving foam is not just for shaving, it is also an amazing, inexpensive stain remover that works brilliantly on both carpets and mattresses. "Shaving cream is simply a form of whipped soap. When applied, it lathers up, penetrating and adding moisture to just about any stain.". This works great as the ingredients in shaving foam are formulated to soften facial hair and include mild abrasives designed to untangle knots and eliminate dead skin - characteristics that work exceptionally well against the particles responsible for stains. Additionally, the consistency of the foam allows it to remain on the stained area for an extended period, ensuring direct and sustained contact with the offending substance, thus enabling a thorough clean, reports Bristol Live Lynsey, dubbed the Queen of Clean, has divulged on her Instagram, she outlined a straightforward method: "Just use warm water and a small soft brush or cloth and very gently rub into the stain, leave for 10 minutes, then rinse away." To allow the carpet to dry, Lynsey recommends spreading out a cloth in a square shape to dab the area, advising the use of a white cloth to visibly see the stain being removed. It's crucial to allow the area to air dry naturally afterwards. The cleaning guru emphasises choosing white shaving foam to prevent any dyes from transferring and suggests conducting a patch test before fully committing to this technique. This approach is reportedly quite successful on water-soluble stains such as milk, mud, most foods, soda, ice cream, and gravy. Numerous followers have tried the tip and shared their outcomes in the comments section. User @kolijohnson declared a triumphant result: "I did this on a stain on our hallway carpet, worked a treat. Thank you so much for the tip." Conversely, @kels_84_ commented: "My carpet had big black sticky glue marks on it, and nothing worked. My sister told me about this, and omg I couldn't believe it worked. Made up." Twitter user @_kimholland expressed gratitude for a stain-removal tip, tweeting: "Thank you for the top tip. My cat threw up on the hall carpet in the middle of the night." They continued to share their success with the advice, adding: "I used your shaving foam tip to clean the stains and it's worked amazingly well and left no stains or marks on the carpet. Thank you so much for an easy to use but brilliant tip." Another Twitter user, @kazmcgaz76, recounted their own experience: "We used this when my daughter got nail varnish, all over the carpet. I went mental while the other half was googling as fast as his fingers would let him. Wow, couldn't believe it brought it out!".

Anyone suffering from heatwave urged to do one thing before going to bed
This Morning cleaning guru Lynsey Crombie, aka the Queen of Clean, shares her simple trick for tackling yellow armpit stains as a result of sweat and deodorant build-up Summer is a season filled with stain danger, from the potential for ketchup or barbecue sauce to drip out of our burgers on to pristine clothes, not to mention constant applications of SPF that leave clothes with cream marks to the heat, making people sweat through their clothes. Thankfully This Morning cleaning guru LYNSEY CROMBIE aka Queen of Clean knows all the tricks for tackling stubborn marks ensuring that you can breeze through the heatwave looking and feeling clean and fresh. Here she shares her tips: FAKE TAN FIASCO If you're a regular fake tan user, you'll be all too familiar with the orange tint it can leave behind on your toilet seat. To lift the stain, you'll need to use products that help dissolve the dyes and oils in fake tan that stick to surfaces like ceramic or plastic. A cream cleaner, such as Cif lifts the pigment while giving the bowl a gentle scrub. The mild abrasives break down the staining without damaging the toilet seat surface. A damp Magic Eraser is ideal for quick fixes as the melamine foam acts like ultra-fine sandpaper, great for buffing away stains without harsh chemicals. For really stubborn marks, acetone nail polish remover cuts through the oily residues in fake tan - just be sure to test on a small patch first. SAUCY STAINS Summer BBQs are super-relaxing, until BBQ sauce or ketchup drips on to your favourite white top. Scrape off excess sauce using a blunt knife to avoid rubbing it deeper into the fabric. Flip the item inside out and rinse under cold running water to push the sauce out from the back, this helps lift the stain rather than spread it. Cold water also prevents the stain from setting. Turn the item right-side out, add a blob of washing-up liquid directly to the area, and pop in the wash as normal. Washing-up liquid cuts through the grease and sugar in BBQ sauces. The 15 Minute Clean: The Quickest Way to a Sparkling Home, £14.99, is available on Amazon, currently on offer for £12.29. SWEATY ARMPITS Underarm stains from sweat and deodorant build-up can turn hard and crispy, and washing alone doesn't always do the trick. Before washing, spray the underarm area (from the inside of the garment) liberally with white vinegar. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then wash as usual. The white vinegar breaks down the salt, sweat, and aluminium in deodorants, softening the build-up so it can wash away cleanly. GREASE IS THE WORD Grease, from bbq burgers or mayo can be tricky to zap, but not if you act fast! Apply lemon juice to the stain. Lemon is a natural degreaser - the acid helps break down the oily residue. Then sprinkle bicarbonate of soda or corn starch on top - they both act like sponges drawing oil out of the fabric and absorbing the loosened grease. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes, rinse with cold water, then wash as normal. SUNCREAM SAVE Suncream can be a real pain to get out of clothes and the longer you leave it the worse it'll get. If you are out and about when the stain occurs, gently blot to absorb as much as the cream as you can. Or use hand sanitiser to cover the stain - this will stop if from spreading. At the beach? Cover the stain with sand to dry it out. As soon as you can, rinse the stain from the reverse under a cold water tap, to help push it out of the fabric. Then try: White vinegar: This can help break down the oil base of the suncream - simply cover the stain in the vinegar then leave for 30 minutes. Eucalyptus oil: This has magical stain removal qualities and it smells incredible. Coat your stain in the stuff, leave for 15 minutes. After applying either white vinegar or eucalyptus oil, wash the garment at the hottest temperature that's safe for the fabric, and check for the stain again before you dry. Once the item has dried you won't get the stain out. So if there is still a trace of the stain repeat this process again. Avoid the tumble dryer because any trace of the stain will become permanent. Instead air dry on the washing line or on a clothes airer.
