Fans and friends flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages, expressing surprise and delight at the beautiful but unexpected development in the relationship.
'This just made my whole heart do cartwheels…. CONGRATULATIONS guys! The cutest nana is on the way,' wrote radio personality Khutso Tseledi, while Khanyi Mbau said, 'Whaaaaat, congrats guys, ncooooh.'
The couple has been together for almost five years and got engaged at the beginning of January this year.
Schwark and Masina garnered significant attention following the show's release as their on-screen storyline focused on the cracks in their relationship. While Schwark pushed for marriage, Masina reacted reluctantly, sharing his concerns with co-stars and friends Mbau and Andile Ncube.
At the time, Masina expressed his fears of commitment following two failed marriages—the first with Bulelwa Mtsi, who starred alongside him on the reality TV series Blame It On Fame. The couple share a son.
His second marriage, to another reality TV star, Naledi Willers, ended after only two years.
Masina later told The Sowetan that he's grown up and is aware of his past mistakes.
'I think I am a different breed. Once I've healed from a bad situation that doesn't exist anymore, I have completely healed and I'm ready for the next chapter of my life. It's only the lessons from the bad situation that exists that I use to manoeuvre in my next relationship.
'I would never shortchange someone because of my previous mishaps. If Kayleigh wants us to get married, I would never stop that because of my past failed marriages. I think I've grown up, and I know what my mistakes were.'
