Around 207 persons participated in the weekly grievance redressal programme 'Makkal Mandram' held at various police stations across the Union Territory on Saturday.
A press release said various police stations in the Union Territory received 62 complaints during the redressal programme organised by the Police Department. Of the total complaints received, 37 have been resolved. Directions have been issued to the concerned police stations to dispose the remaining complaints at the earliest, the release said.
While the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Law and Order, R. Sathiyasundaram, attended the programme held at the Orleanpet police station, Senior Superintendent of Police, Law and Order, R. Kalaivanan was present at D. Nagar police station.
This initiative will continue every week from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. where senior police officers will visit one police station in their jurisdiction to directly listen and address public complaints.
