Victim in Coryell County fatal crash identified
CORYELL COUNTY, Texas (FOX 44) – The victim of a fatal crash in Coryell County has been identified.
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers responded to a report of a fatal crash in the 7800 block of Highway 84. A 2016 RAM 3500 truck, driven by William Joseph Thomas, of Gatesville, was traveling westbound.
A witness to the crash said the truck passed her vehicle and was approximately a quarter mile ahead of her. The witness reported the truck took a hard left and left the highway.
The Ram left the roadway and collided with a tractor, along with implements in a field. Thomas was not wearing a seatbelt.
Thomas was transported to Coryell Memorial Hospital and was later pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Caldwell. Next of kin have been notified.
This investigation is still open.
