Barcelona Free Up €12 million From Players' Departures

Barcelona have saved close to €12 million in Financial Fair Play (FFP) terms following the departures of Pablo Torre and Ansu Fati. The Catalan club confirmed Torre's permanent transfer to RCD Mallorca for €5 million, while Ansu Fati joined AS Monaco on loan. Both moves form part of the club's wider efforts to meet La Liga's 1:1 spending rule, allowing clubs to spend €1 for every €1 they generate. According to Mundo Deportivo , Torre's sale provided relief of €3.5 million, factoring in both the transfer fee and the wages freed up. Fati's loan deal saved the club €8 million, with Monaco set to cover 50% of his €9.4 million salary. Barcelona continue to offload players not included in Hansi Flick's plans as they aim to improve their finances and strengthen their squad under FFP regulations.

Barcelona star to miss club's return for pre-season medical tests

An outbound member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has been granted permission to sit out the club's upcoming pre-season return. That's according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Pablo Torre as the player in question. Advertisement Youngster Torre is for his part of course on the way out at Barcelona. After a difficult campaign in Catalunya's capital in 2024/25, the plan has long been for the 22-year-old to move on this summer. RCD Mallorca, in turn, have agreed to meet the demands laid out by the Camp Nou brass, with the transfer considered all but imminent. So much so that, as alluded to above, Torre will not be required to join the rest of Hansi Flick's squad at the club's training base on Sunday. As per a report from MD: 'Torre has permission not to join Barça squad's return this Sunday. Barça sources confirm that he is not on the list of players who will undergo medical tests.' An official announcement regarding the transfer is expected over the days ahead. Conor Laird – GSFN

FC Barcelona Announces Another First Team Transfer

FC Barcelona announced its second first team transfer of the day via a statement sent to the media ... More and its official website. FC Barcelona announced its second first team transfer of the day via a statement sent to the media and its official website. 'FC Barcelona and RCD Mallorca have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Pablo Torre. The Blaugrana club reserves a buy-back right and a % of the capital gain from a future sale of the midfielder,' the statement began. 'The Club wishes him good luck and success in the future, both personally and professionally,' it then added. On the official Barca website, the La Liga champion explained how, 'as such the player from Cantabria brings an end to his three year spell as a blaugrana after arriving from Racing Santander in the summer of 2022'. It noted how he spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Girona and in his two campaigns with Barca made 27 appearances, scored five goals and provided four assists, and showed 'evidence of his undoubted talent'. Yet the Catalans didn't shy away from touching on the fact of how 'under coach Hansi Flick competition in midfield was fierce with the likes of Pedri, Gavi, Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez in the squad'. 'Minutes were hard to come by but when he did feature he showed his class. Now, he has the opportunity to do so as a Mallorca player,' Barca concluded. Though Barca didn't provide any figures as per the amount of money Torre has been sold for, it was reported as $5.8 millon (€5 million) when the deal was being finalized. If accurate, this means that Barca has not made a loss on the midfielder who in his short time in Catalonia managed to win every trophy on offer in Spain including La Liga twice. At 22, Pablo Torre is young enough in that if he finally kicks off in Mallorca and earns regular minutes, he could be brought back to the Camp Nou and provide positional rivalry to the mentioned names above. In his first Spanish top flight match for his new employers, he could face Barca as it travels to Son Moix to take on Mallorca and starts a defence of its championship crown. This is the second transfer announced by FC Barcelona at the turn of the week Also on Monday, FC Barcelona announced that it had signed Roony Bardghji from FC Copenhagen. If he impresses Flick, the young Swede could stay in Hansi Flick's first team and mount a challenge to Lamine Yamal's control of the right wing berth.

Barcelona star drops major exit hint

Barcelona star Pablo Torre has this week dropped a major hint that his departure from the club is now all but imminent. The name of midfielder Torre has of course proven an altogether prominent one in the Spanish media chatter over recent days. Advertisement This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the 22-year-old had given the green light to a move to Barca's La Liga rivals, RCD Mallorca. The Bermellones are understood to be ready to fork over €5 million for 50% of Torre's playing rights. And as alluded to above, if there were any remaining doubts regarding the intentions of the talented youngster, Torre has himself put as much to bed once and for all this week. After coming across a post on Instagram, showcasing a potential Mallorca XI for next season featuring his own name, Torre responded with a 'like': Interestingly, the line-up also features Roony Bardghji, set to be unveiled as a Barcelona player any day now, ahead of, potentially, being farmed out on loan for the 2025/26 campaign. FC Barcelona And First Team Player Agree Transfer

An FC Barcelona star on the fringes of Hansi Flick's first team has agreed to leave the club ... More according to outlets such as SER, citing anonymous sources. An FC Barcelona star on the fringes of Hansi Flick's first team has agreed to leave the club according to outlets such as SER, citing anonymous sources. Using X, formerly known as Twitter, SER confirmed that Pablo Torre has decided to play for RCD Mallorca. 'The saga is over; after considering his options, he chooses to play on the island,' the radio station explained, while adding how all that remains is to finalize the details of the sale between the two clubs and the layout of a buyback option. Also on X, SPORT collaborator Quim Casademunt tweeted that the sale had been confirmed and that the defending La Liga champion will retain a buyback clause or percentage of any future sale of the young midfielder. According to Casademunt, the sale is for €5 million to Barca's Spanish top flight rivals, who in 2024 reached the Copa del Rey final. If the sale is for this amount, Barca does not make a loss on Torre. That's because it reportedly paid the same amount for him from Racing Santander in 2022, when he was talked up as the potential future of Spanish football alongside the likes of Pedri and since Lamine Yamal. While those two stars went onto become full-fledge La Roja internationals and Euro 2024 winners, Torre, though an U21 regular, hasn't yet made it to Luis de La Fuente's senior side. That's not helped by the fact he's struggled to secure regular minutes in Catalonia, either on the watch of club legend Xavi Hernandez or his successor Hansi Flick. With the likes of Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Marc Casado and Marc Bernal in his way to mention a few hours, however, it is no simple task getting one of three spots in the middle of the park. Torre still leaves FC Barcelona a champion Still, although he probably would've liked to have got more chances and made a bigger impact, Torre leaves FC Barcelona a winner. Even in such a short amount of time donning Blaugrana, he is a two-time La Liga and Spanish Super Cup champion while having also lifted the Copa del Rey at Real Madrid's expense.
