'I swear by this soothing hair mask to restore my locks after a day in the sun'

Mirror's shopping writer Grace deals with dry and brittle hair, especially after sun exposure, but swears by this nourishing mask to revive her locks In sunny weather, we usually think about how the sun will effect our face and skin, and take the neccesary precautions to prevent any damage or burns. But we can often forget the effect the sun will have on our hair. Exposure to UV rays can often lead to dry and brittle locks. Of course, there are products we can use to prevent this, such as Goldwell's Dualsenses Sun Reflects UV Protect Spray, currently £12.75, and REHAB.'s Sunshine Spritz UV Protection Hair Oil, currently £20.80 here. However, if like me, this is something you usually forget about, then it's worth investing in a hair mask that works for your hair type to try and reverse some of the damage, and I think I've found just the one. Maria Nila's Head & Hair Heal Masque, now £23.80 at Sephora, is my current go-to hair saviour, and after the heatwave week we've just had, it's been a true lifesaver. This nourishing mask has not been specifically designed to restore hair from sun damage, instead a growth stimulating and dandruff preventing hair mask. However, it's the only hair mask I've found to work for my frizzy, dry and wavy hair after a day laying out in the sun. Previous masks I've tried have been too heavy, either weighing my hair down or leaving a greasy residue. That's not the case with this Maria Nila one, which nourishes and softens my brittle strands, restoring them back to their (almost) full health. Packed full of soothing ingredients like Piroctone Olamine and natural Aloe Vera extract, this mask helps to treat dandruff and scalp problems, while also stimulating hair growth and preventing hair loss. So it's really a win-win for my hair. So far I have not noticed any new hair growth, instead I can see an improvement in my scalp health and smoother strands. However, I've only been using it for the past month so there's a chance if I continue with it, I will see more growth. To use, simply apply to freshly washed, wet hair for three to five minutes, wash off and then condition as usual. The result? Hydrated, silky smooth and soft locks. For the best results, I'd suggest using the Head & Hair Shampoo and Conditioner from the same Maria Nila range.
