Johor gives RM4.55mil in special incentives to Felda settlers
KOTA TINGGI: In recognition of the contributions of Felda settlers, Johor has unveiled 14 special initiatives worth at least RM4.55mil for the community.
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, who made the announcement at an event here, said the initiatives would benefit Felda settlers and residents across the state.
"The first initiative is assistance for the Felda Settlers' Development and Safety Committees (JKKR), where each JKKR will receive RM10,000.
"We will also be handing RM5,000 to each Felda Youth Council (MBFL) as well as RM5,000 to each Women's Movement Association (GPW) statewide," he said in his speech during the Johor Felda Settlers Day celebration here on Sunday (June 29).
He stated that the Segamat and Johor Baru Felda regions would also receive the same amount for their JKKR, MBFL, and GPW groups, respectively.
"We will also be allocating RM5,000 to each surau and mosque in Felda settlements across the state," he said, adding that the first eight initiatives were worth about RM1.85mil.
Onn Hafiz said the state government had also agreed to give a special haj quota to 10 Felda settlers.
"We will also be giving interest-free education funds to 50 children of Felda settlers.
"Food baskets worth RM100 each will also be distributed to all 27,000 Felda settlers statewide, bringing the total allocation for this initiative alone to RM2.27mil," he said.
