#SHOWBIZ: Taylor Swift waxworks to grace 13 Madame Tussauds locations worldwide
LONDON: Pop icon Taylor Swift is set to be immortalised in wax at 13 Madame Tussauds locations across the globe, the museum announced yesterday.
This number, a nod to Swift's well-known lucky number 13, marks what the museum describes as its "most ambitious project" in its 250-year history, according to a news report quoting their statement.
Each of the statues is inspired by iconic looks from Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour (2023–2024).
The tour spanned 149 shows worldwide and grossed over US$2 billion (RM8.44 billion), making it the most lucrative tour in music history.
Over 40 artists dedicated more than a year to crafting the 13 lifelike figures of the 14-time Grammy winner. Danielle Cullen, the museum's senior figure stylist, commented, "This is the most ambitious project in Madame Tussauds' 250-year history, which only feels right to reflect the stratospheric status of Taylor Swift."
The wax figures will be displayed in London, Blackpool, Amsterdam, Berlin, Budapest, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York, Orlando, and Sydney.
The 13th statue will embark on a tour of the remaining Madame Tussauds locations, commencing its journey in Shanghai.
