As a friend, I want to give Mithra the best roles in films, says director PC Shekhar
The bond between Krishna and Arjuna serves as the inspiration for the relationship between the lead characters in director PC Shekhar's upcoming film Mahaan. The film stars Vijay Raghavendra and Mithra , whose on-screen friendship, Shekhar says, he has carefully developed. In Mahaan, Vijay plays a lawyer-turned-farmer, while Mithra takes on the role of a mechanic. 'Vijay's character is an intellectual, sharp and witty, but even he needs emotional support at times. That's where Mithra's character comes in — a lifelong friend and guide. As a director, it's fulfilling to write characters that fit into the story so organically,' he shares. 'Had Mithra pursued a career as an actor consistently, he'd have been one of the film industry 's strongest assets. He may have been known for his comic timing, but he proved his range as an actor in Raaga. As his friend and a filmmaker, I try to give him a role in every project I do,' says Shekhar.
